The hotel couldn’t be faulted it was beautiful and the beach was stunning and had the best sea for swimming in ever… no sea creatures at all. Do go on the sunrise hike and night firefly tour. The facilities were superb with a great gym and plenty of restaurants. If you want tranquility this is the hotel for you, it was very relaxing after our jungle experience

unfortunately it was low season so nothing for adults on except a fire show one evening and a duo singing Saturday night in the bar. The property is too far away from anything to go out as it’s too far for cabs to come if you want nightlife got to the other shangri la in KK as it is nearer the waterfront (bar area)

Amazing property with truly world class amenities and crew. Great pool and beach. Spent most of our time at the Samoan bar in the evenings during sundowner. Great food, great cocktails and wonderful staff led by Fen and her team of Febby, Nazirul, Stephanie. Great team and wonderful to interact with. Hats off to their professionalism. Not a thing.

The hotel is really great, it’s located in the natural reserve. Their activities are amazing, such as hiking and river cruise. Guides introduced a lot about local culture and wild animals. Food is great, especially their Italian restaurant.

Please have more information about your activities on your website. It’s really hard to find information about them before arriving. And also your reservation team is not doing their job! They told me you don’t have shuttle bus and didn’t note my request for the room.

The restaurant selections were amazing! The Eighth and Tepi Laut all you can eat buffet were the highlights. The daily breakfast buffet was also something i looked forward to, the food were amazing all round. Also the cultural dance performance was really good. There are also many activities to do and choose from organised by the resort. Fun place for family.

Perfect from A to Z, the whole family loved it. The place and its surroundings are amazing, the staff are genuinely making efforts to ensure the best stay possible. Big thumbs up to SHANGRI LA RASA RIA KK.

Travel is a pain due to the traffic levels but that isn't the fault of the hotel.

- beautiful location but quite far ( 1 hour away from the airport) and away from Kota Kinabalu keep that in mind. So once you there you kind of stuck there - nice, spacious rooms with nice views - very comfortable bed and the room was well equipped - very friendly staff, always willing to help - the cleaning was very good - breakfast was very good, so much choice to choose from - the most beautiful sunsets

- the hotel is rough on the edges , a bit dated. - the prices on the premises were crazy! Everything is 4 times more than in Borneo. The massage prices were way too overpriced. There are no other restaurants nearby so you kind of stuck eating out only on premises. Different choices of restaurants though to choose from ! - Teppanyaki restaurant was not good, was a complete disaster ! The chef was cooking our meal too fast and left on the side to go cold. Their air-conditioning was dripping on us constantly, some foods were ok , not great, just very simple, for that price we wanted to try something abit exclusive! - the staff is constantly trying to out sell - is super annoying!

Breakfast was very good, lots of choice. Staff were very helpful and tried hard to iron out any issues that arose. Beach was really nice and pool area also.

Breakfast gets a little to busy and often ends up with queues for a table. Nothing the the staff can do about this one but ..... The traffic in and around Kota Kinabalu is horrendous. It takes forever to get from/to the airport. Be sure to leave yourself a LOT of time. Getting to the airport took two hours and getting from the airport almost the same. Both taxi drivers said the traffic was always like that.

Amazing Staff, room, breakfast Buffet. When you have any issue management did everything to fix the problem.

The number of free activities should be increased, the activities like trekking, yoga should be free. The beach is great but the sea is not clear and did not enjoy swimming. Ocean wing rooms are chic but the one we stayed was not clean and the reason we upgraded was to enjoy more private pool but could not since there were children jumping to the pool and made lots of noise. I still believe this is the best hotel in the region but management should take care of the issues i have just mentioned. I also didnt like the open buffet. The. Meal was not good enough. Lots of food but not tasty.
