Our room was fantastic, lovely and big, clean and well presented. Loved the nightcap offerings ☺️ Had a nice Sunday Roast, not much to fault on that. Super dog friendly. Great location to get on to the moors.

Breakfast, perhaps trying too hard and not quite getting it right. Liked that you could pre order and they were generous with suggesting you could have 2 items per person. Granola served up nicely but was just a cheap sugary offering. Poached eggs were all undercooked and the muffins were stale, turned my partner right off having anything else. I'm sure they would have replaced it but the damage was done. Shame, as it had the makings of a really good thing. Wouldn't stop us coming again I have to say, we would just choose a safer option for brekkie.

Breakfast was lovely Room and bathroom very clean as was the public areas Location was good for us as we wanted to walk around Burrator reservoir Had a lovely few days away Also I left my phone charger behind which they very kindly sent on to me

Unfortunately we went at a very hot time and the room was not very big and very hot, however they already had a fan in the room which did help, and we appreciate you can’t help the weather Would have preferred proper toast at breakfast!

The staff were so welcoming and relaxed. The attention to detail, down to the night cap on top of the fridge with spare milk, was a loverly touch. The room was amazing and cosy. It was mine and my partners first time staying there. I've always wanted to stay there and now we will be doing it again. I spend alot of time in dartmoor this is the perfect location for a stay with your loved one.

I didn't like the fact that I only stayed 1 night haha really wish id booked a few more nights.

Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good and nicely cooked. Room was very spacious and clean with a massive comfy bed. Loved the little bottles of fresh milk in a fridge on the landing, for making tea and coffee in room. Comfortable lounge area for having a drink. We had our dog with us and he was well catered for - bowls of water by the door, washing sink outside, plenty of areas for him to toilet and bins provided. Key to outside door so easy to take him out when we needed to. Large car park and able to park near doors to the rooms so easy to unpack. A lovely 'oldy, worldy' feel to it.

Bathroom was clean and supplied with soaps and shampoo. Personally not too keen on a wet room but there was nothing wrong with it.

All of the food (dinner and breakfast) was excellent, as were the drinks (alcoholic or hot beverages). All of the staff were friendly and helpful, going out of their way to provide me with anything I asked for.

1. Although a nicely designed and fitted out room, there was quite a bit of black mold around the bathroom window and, to a lesser extent, the bedroom window. It is always going to be difficult to maintain the standards on an old property like this but it should be possible to put occasional deep cleaning of the window frames on the maintenance list. 2. The TV took an age to turn on and I was never sure if I had just turned it on or off during the process. I eventually worked out if it was on by pressing the mute button and seeing the on-screen mute symbol. I thiink it just needs a long time to respond to the remote control?? Some instructions for the TV would be useful.

Friendly welcome. Rooms were warm, cosy and very clean. Beds very comfortable. The dinner and next day breakfast menus were varied and the food was excellent. Staff very helpful - nothing seemed to be too much trouble.

Easter holidays had just began and the restaurant in the evening was very busy. This created a situation where the staff (who were manning both bar and eating area simultaneously), were put under some pressure, although they did manage very well, maybe extra staff might help at busy times.

The bed was very comfortable, could control room temperature to own requirements, and if wanted radiator on all the time you could. Room, good size, and T.V. great with "normal TV as well as Sky. Breakfast fantastic 😋 Very comfortable accommodation

The shower room was clean but the grout in tiles could do with a good bleach as well as shower head and shower pipe. Toilet leaked and toilet seat kept moving. I did tell a member of staff about the toilet.

First impressions were very good, easy to find good parking and welcoming friendly staff. The room was way above expectations being large, light and airy. Fan helped keep room comfortable during the night. The bathroom also far exceeded expectations. Breakfast was good and available between 8 & 9.30 so no great rush in the morning. Main menu offered good choice and quality was good. Although not dog owners we were impressed to see a dog/bike was area which I am sure dog owners and bikers would find useful after a day on the moors.

Yoke of Poached eggs were hard. I’m sure I could have complained and they would have done fresh ones.

We have stayed here a few times before. This is a fabulous place to stay. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful too. The food is very good. This is also a locals pub, servicing a small village, right by one of the best parts of Dartmoor. But this doesn't mean it gets too noisy, and it is certainly not unfriendly. They are very dog friendly too. But the rooms do not smell doggy, unlike some places. If you are visiting the Yelverton area, this is the hotel I would recommend.

The shower was very powerful (which was fantastic). However when we turned it on, it would literally explode water out all over the place, from the water pressure and the shower head cradle (this may need looking at). It would shoot water out towards you and out of the enclosure when first switched on. But it was a minor inconvenience... and to be honest highly comical watching my husband get attacked by it! 😄 But it was more than usable and the pressure was amazing.😍

Ideal location to explore Dartmoor and surrounding area. Staff were all friendly and the breakfast in the morning was superb, enough to keep you going for the rest of the day. Rooms were very comfortable .

As it is a very dog friendly place..be prepared to put up with dogs barking at all times of the day and night. Rooms were very clean but could do with brightening up a bit.
