Hotel facilities excellent and in excellent repair, especially considering the damage from the super typhoon only 2 months before. Staff couldn't be more helpful, including getting us breakfast when we turned up late for the official breakfast.

One thing to be aware is that the location is at least 1km from the busier parts of new Ha Long, so you will either walk a lot or use local taxis (which needs factoring into the price).

Rooms are big and we took and extra large bed. Hotel was clean.

It’s more about the city itself. It was a ghost city I had the impression of being in an episode of the Walking Dead. Everything was closed, restaurants, hotels. I had the impression we were the only guest at the hotel. That’s why after doing the tour I understood that people either do a 1 day trip from Hanoi, go on a overnight boatour or go visit the other « more untouched bays ». Would not have stayed overnight in Halong city if I had known. Regarding the hotel, shower had an issue (pumping very hot then very cold water), no included breakfast. Was more expensive than the average of the rest of north Vietnam.

The hotel is nice and clean, and the receptionists are very friendly and kind. We've got an upgrade to a bigger room and earlier check-in also. There were complimentary waters and coffee in the room. The room was specious, with a giant bed. It was a very comfortable stay. The hotel didn't seem to be very busy at all, and many hotels in the area were closed. (May, mid week)

Breakfast coffee and juice are really not good. It's the cheapest juice you can imagine . Coffee in Vietnam is usually very good but here it's really not much to look forward to. Payment with card possible but with 5% fee. One thing that stood out is how hot it is at the reception/ breakfast area. There is no airconditioning nor fan. There must be like 30 degrees - sure it felt like it. We had to deal with it for 10 min during check-in but poor people working there the whole day.

We had a wonderful experience upon arriving at the Ha Long Essence Classic Hotel. The warm welcome we received from the reception staff made us feel right at home. One gentleman in particular was exceptionally kind—he took the time to explain everything in detail and even upgraded our room free of charge. The service throughout our stay was excellent. Before our arrival, I had been in contact with the hotel's support assistant via WhatsApp, and he was incredibly helpful—one of the best I’ve encountered in all my travels. He assisted us in booking the Rosy Cruise and arranged a limousine transfer back to Hanoi at a very reasonable price. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. The bathroom was well-appointed and met all our needs. We were also offered a generous 50% discount on breakfast, which turned out to be very much worth it. If you’re planning a trip to Ha Long Bay, I highly recommend the Ha Long Essence Classic Hotel. It’s a peaceful place that gave us a truly restful and relaxing experience.

Nothing All Good

Staff were super friendly and went out of their way to help us. Location is in a quiet area so required use of grab to get around, bit this suited us. Great air con in the rooms and a good night sleep. done the job.

Check in was a bit disorganized. we arrived 2hrs early, check in was at 2pm so we had to wait for couple of hours for 1 room to be ready, which was fine, however 2nd room was not ready for another 45mins. Not the end of the world but we were pretty hot and bothered so felt worse waiting in a hot reception.

Very friendly staff. Huy at the reception went out of his way to assist me with booking transportation back to Hanoi at the end of my stay. Thanks to the Hotel connections I was able to book a 6 hour tour through the bay for the day of my arrival, which was much cheaper than booking it through agencies before my trip to Vietnam and it was everything I hoped for. It is in a 10 mins walking distance to the beach. Nice (small) breakfast as well.

Not the hotels fault: unsure if it was a very low season, but the area was “dead” although it is located in a nice complex, there were no restaurants open nearby and it is quite far from the centre. Luckily there was a small supermarket 2 blocks down.

Great hotel, great staff. Comfy bed. Good place to come back to. Clos to beach, but unfortunately the beach was closed from swimming after the typhoon.

The location is a bit weird. Lots of empty hotels around and restaurants closed nearby. It was easy to get a grab into the centre of town though. Try not to visit just after a typhoon has struck!

The staff were very helpful, we arrived the day after the Typhoon and were going to Cat Ba island the next day. They called the ferry company and told us the ferries were not working. They helped in every way possible. The value for money was exceptional.

No restaurants that we could find within walking distance.

The room is spacious and the bed is super comfortable. everything was perfect with the accommodation.

Not easy to find breakfast that we are used to , like eggs , toasts , coffee etc . If we go with hotel breakfast, the menu was just noodles or rice the Vietnamese type which is hard for older people like us to get used to . So we went out to see if we can find any pastries or bread, nada ! Unless you take taxi to some km away . We gave up and tried to cope with eating granola to tie over .

staff were great, greeting me on arrival by taking my bags and giving me tea, accomodating when i needed fruit cut etc. The room was beautiful and comfy! exactly what I needed after staying in hostels. I even got a free upgrade and they let me check in early + check out late for free. would highly reccomend this place. Loved everything about it 😊
