The breakfast menu was amazing, great view. Dinner in the club house bar was very good. The location and the décor in the main hotel is of a very high standard. There was no expense spared in construction. Staff very friendly and helpful, in fact cant do enough to help you. The attention to detail in this hotel is what sets it apart. Would recommend for a mid week getaway or a small corporate event.

The shower in the room was difficult to work and we were a little far from main hotel. If the weather was bad, we'd have had to call a concierge taxi to pick us up, and if the hotel was busy the days we were there, we'd have been waiting. So really, nothing much to complain about here.

We were greeted by Trudy who went above and beyond to make us welcome and found us a second night (& a bottle of bubbles ;). All the staff including the locals were so friendly and chatty it felt like home, especially with the welcome cat at the door. We used the spa which was heaven and to find an un crowded beach on such a sunny day was amazing. I can’t remember the last time I have had food so tasty anywhere, the chowder actually had a selection of fresh fish! Our room was huge with the best shower and robes. The beds were super comfy. The coffee facilities and little fridge were great. There are golf caddy’s and vans to pick you up and drop you were ever you like around the grounds or into Doonbeg which is great. But we preferred the bikes. Beat staycation in Ireland we’ve had will definitely be back!

Thermal suite not really a thermal suite. These facilities separate for males and females which was very disappointing. Really it is changing rooms with very small jacuzzis and steam room and sauna. On my visit the ladies sauna was out of order and of the two small jacuzzis one wasn’t working. Very surprising for a 5 star hotel. An upgrade badly needed here.

The entire stay was fantastic, from the second we arrived until we left. We were staying in one of the Link Cottages, we were greeted by a lovely gentleman at the door who checked us in. We enjoyed a lovely lunch in trumps bar and returned again in the evening for dinner (would recommend booking diner), diner was super fresh and tasty as was breakfast the following morning. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the grounds are gorgeous and super clean with a beach on the doorstep. Would recommend a trip to the spa and a treatment to finish off your trip!

Only staying for one night!! Personal preference - The spa was separated into men and women , would have preferred if it was mixed

Location and aspect are unique. The staff are exceptionally trained. Room 42 has a shower that works occasionally. The rate negotiation for the extra night was poor. The staff should have been able to let us in the original room at the online lowest price on the day as the room was unsold. We weee told to do the booking online which cost you on commission and this could have been discounted if that was the case

The property was very clean and up to a very high standard. There is a group in the village willing to assist you with the planning and this should be pursued. We have done this before very successfully

Breakfast was class, delivered every morning to our cottage at no extra charge. Dinner on our first night in the Ocean view Restaurant was simply superb, a special shout out to Anna (pastry chef) the dessert was melt in your mouth and the presentation we have never seen before. Dinner the second night was in the club house, which was just fine , would have loved a second night in the Restaurant but it closes for the nights of Sunday and Monday. Staff were just so nice, we could not fault a thing. Cannot wait to come back . Take a bow Doonbeg. 10/10

The staff, they were extremely nice and helpful, and very professional at the same time, always had smiles on there faces and made you feel comfortable. The experience, it is a unique place and setting, every part of the resort offers something different., in its architecture and design to its relaxing and friendly atmosphere. The scenary, even though we were there while the weather was pretty poor, you could see and hear the waves from the sea and golfers in the backdrop... amazing.

This place is amazing! It’s luxurious without being over the top. The breakfast was outstanding, the best I’ve had yet! The staff were warm and friendly. The location is fabulous, perfect for a chilled break.

Unfortunately the Ocean View restaurant wasn’t open due to the time of year so we went to the bar to eat. The mushroom soup was lovely but the Thai chicken salad was mediocre, battered cold chicken ( it didn’t say the chicken was going to be battered and really it would have been better without it but at the at least serve it hot) and the salad itself wasn’t that tasty. I expected more because everything else was so on point. Our meal in one of the village pubs was far better. A shame really. Everything else was fab!

The location, just the general scenary around the place. We are not grew golfer’s so can’t comment on the golf course, but the golf course looked great. The sunset was beautiful!

Did not look as grand as one would have thought. The reception area is rraktively slow. We were in the cottages and the rooms had a rustic look but did not go with the luxury positioning

We really enjoyed our stay. The 2 BR suite was great. We are not golfers but wanted to stay there because of its proximity to the to the places we were visiting. The room was nice. We had a problem with turning the heat and when asked the instructions they gave us did not work. But all in all was very good.

I think the lighting in the bathroom was horrid. They need to do a better job with that. Secondly, they need to think more about 'women' in getting ready in morning. No place to be comfortable blow drying hair, and makeup. It was off season so not alot of people on premise. I would think that in a case like that, the Hotel would provide free upgrades to guests. There were rooms right at the main inn and they were empty. I am sure those rooms are pricier but in my opinion, by giving a free upgrade it would entice me to come back.
