Station House was the only classic "bed and breakfast" we stayed at on our visit to Ireland (we mostly stuck to hotels and Airbnbs). Must say it was absolutely delightful and definitely made us rethink our accommodation choices for future trips. The owner was extremely welcoming and we felt very at ease at the property. The beds were comfortable and everything we needed was provided for us. Breakfast was home cooked and extremely delicious and plentiful. Be aware if you've never stayed in a true B&B, the walls are very thin - don't be rude like us and accidentally have your television on too loud (the host was very kind when asking us to turn it down).

Really wouldn't change a thing about the property. Obviously little things like personal thermostats are missing in a B&B and the walls are thin as we learned the hard way, but that is to be expected and the host kept the property at a very comfortable temperature.

I was greeted promptly by a very nice gentleman, I was impressed by the organisation, the checking process and filling up a card for breakfast with an amazing choice of options. It felt like a hotel. The rooms was perfectly clean and cosy, same as the bathroom with a massive shower. Fresh, clean and scented towels. Exceptional. I stayed in 4 or 5 stars hotel with facilities not as good as this. Incredible. Full Irish Breakfast was decent, tasty and fresh, and a plate of fresh fruit, and with a great choice on the buffet also. I was so pleased. Thank you for this place, keep up the great work.

As it's often the case with B&Bs, the walls are paper thin. I was in a quiet part of the building, quite far and isolated from the other rooms but despite the distance, I could still hear banging, walking, showers and other noises, unavoidable in a small place like that. That's my only complaint as I'm a light sleeper. Bring ear plugs.

We loved The Station House! We arrived a bit bedraggled after a long day driving, and Nicky greeted us with a warm welcome. We had a lively night dining and listening to music in Doolin, then a beautiful morning at the Cliffs of Moher — both nearby. Our rooms were large, immaculate, and comfortable, and my husband loved his first real Irish breakfast in the morning — the rest of us enjoyed our selections, too. County Clare was in the hurling championship so it was fun to see the support around Ennistymon. A few days later when we arrived in Dublin just after the match, we felt a certain pride in Clare's victory!

This was such a brilliant B and B, more like a hotel, really comfortable bed and great facilities, bathroom all shiney new and TV etc, an iron in the room, kettle etc. I had a really great breakfast, spoilt for choice, everything fresh and wide range of options. Its so rarely now that breakfast is included anywhere. I would absolutely recommend Station House. All the comfort and homeliness of a family run hotel, a genuiney warm welcome, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. A gem! Hopefully will be back here again before too long.

Nothing not to like

The best stay of our trip! Friendly hosts who couldn't of done more for us to make us feel welcome. Fixtures and fittings are fantastic, just like you'd get in a much more expensive hotel, yet you get the personal friendly feel of a B&B at the same time. Breakfast was fantastic. We opted for the fruit salad and it was lovely and fresh and real tasty. Cooked breakfast was lovely and full of flavour. Good selection of breads/scones/cereals too. Alex (my 11 year old) loved the scrambled egg and smoked salmon. We've all said we would definitely come back next time we visit Ireland. A must stay for anyone staying County Clare or nearby!

Nothing at all. Would recommend to anyone!

We felt so welcome, and the atmosphere was really relaxed. We were given the key and menu for breakfast on arrival, lovely interactions with the owner, and we didn't feel rushed or pressured at any time. The facilities were amazing, the bedroom and the bathroom were high standard. Parking facilities were very accessible Breakfast was better than I would ever do at home, and there were a lot of delicious options. We took our time during breakfast as well, arrived at the time chosen, and stayed until we finished. Will be returning for a longer stay next time for sure.

Everything about the B&B was superb. Nicky and his family are exceptional hosts, making you feel nothing but welcome during your stay. The breakfast was amazing - so many options!! The location of the B&B was great, so close to many pubs and nearby towns.

Nothing - rooms were all super. We hope to stay again in the future.

Location was good although it can be a little noisy as it is along the main road. However, traffic is low after 10pm. So it didn't disturb our sleep. The rooms were well appointed and very clean. Bathroom was spacious, and there was a rain shower. I messaged the property earlier to ask if they could provide me with twin beds as i was traveling with an elderly aunt. They responded very promptly and made sure to reserve the rooms accordingly. Breakfast was good. You pre-select a hot meal from the menu the night before. There was ample choices. There's cereal, juices and and a basket of bread while you wait for your hot breakfast. Overall, a very good place for a stopover. Excellent, friendly hosts

The Station House is simply the best B&B we have ever stayed in. It is in a great position a very short walk from all the local pubs and restaurants. There is lots of parking space. The owner is friendly and greeted us on arrival, with recommendations for sightseeing and eating out. The room was absolutely spotless, with a very modern bathroom equipped with everything you’d need. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the location was quiet. Breakfast was amazing, cooked fresh to order with home-cooked bread and scones. For those with dietary requirements, gluten free options are standard, and dairy alternatives are available. There is a whole herbal tea menu. This makes such a difference from many others we have stayed at - at the Station House it’s just all part of the service. Absolutely faultless, with great hosts, I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Nothing at all.

The beds were extremely comfy, the shower facilities great and super clean, and I loved having a choice of hot meals for breakfast (one should choose the breakfast option the evening before). The beautiful Lahinch beach was only a five-minute drive away, and the Cliffs of Moher, 18 minutes. Overall, this is a lovely guesthouse, and the hosts are doing an amazing job!
