A great find, we genuinely enjoyed our stay at Isallt guest house. A warm welcome on arrival, we were given a large double room that was ensuite and very comfortable with fantastic views of Blaenau Ffestiniog and the surrounding mountains. It's quite central, although there's not a lot to do at night ( to be fair, we were shattered anyway after long days out), we decided to go out for an Indian meal on our first night, about 300 yards walk and very nice it was too. A Continental type breakfast is supplied which we found more than ample, which you can either eat in or take out. The Issalt is within easy reach of many of the local attractions, making it an ideal base.
Nothing.

Located just above the railway station and bus stop (ideal!) this friendly, cosy guesthouse suited us perfectly. Very friendly helpful host. We had a homely room on the top floor with a nice big comfortable bed. Tea and coffee making facilities. Decent bathroom with shower. Really good was the fridge. Breakfast was a packed one to collect in the morning really handy for going out for the day or not having to get up early. We were provided with a nice healthy vegan breakfast option as we had requested. We were also provided with non-dairy milk in the room.
It was all good. If you have heavy luggage (help was offered to us with luggage) though or you are not good with stairs you might not want the top floor.

The hospitality shown by Richard was absolutely second to none! Every care was taken prior to arrival & extra thought shown with the breakfast bags particularly for my daughter who follows a vegan diet. The microwave in the dining room was an absolute plus & the maps to show us the way to the dam & lakes were fantastic. We would definitely visit again. Oh & Ann made us chuckle with her chat & banter!
We were so pleased to have an en-suite & the room was comfortable in temperature & amenities. Shower could do with an update. That would be my only negative but this didn’t dampen our experience at this wonderful guest house.

We found this a lovely stay. Richard was nice, friendly and very helpful with giving up some tips on where to go and even provided us with some little maps on how to get there. Good location, parking was essential for us so glad it had that! Little bags of food provided each morning this was great as we took these on our outings of a morning. Complimentary tea, coffee and water provided in the rooms and downstairs in the dining room. Morrisons and coop supermarkets directly over the road so could buy your own food and drink and take it back to the dining area or the patio outside which was nice & peaceful can see the steam trains going past, views of the mountains.
I didn’t like the fact there were no pillow case protectors under the cases. I know it doesn’t bother some people however this is honest opinion of what I didn’t like. Everything else was Great

Friendly informative hosts 100% for customer service Room was clean and lovely. I personally spoke to the cleaners which were friendly and informative. We stayed in room 5 which is 1 double and a single this room had a roof veiw window of the mountain which is lovely but noisy in the rain. Shop is literally 1 second away and area has a cafe 2 secs away also the steam train 10 secs away that also has a gift shop. There is also an indoor play area which is located in the church (adults are free to enter) and also has a little cafe For the accommodation I'd give it a nice 8 out of 10 if there was some sort of hot dinner even if it was jacket with a help yourself buffet salad I would of definitely asked for that and gave it a 9 For the area on personal preference id give it a 5 out of 10 but please don't let this put you off yet again it's down to personal tastes
Area not much in the way of leisure and swimming center only open certain days and times perfect for hikers and climbers. We ventured out towards barmouth, talybont and porthmadog. The area definitely needs a local pub which serves traditional food. And maybe some sort of night life entertainment for families Pillows in the room was a bit soft but that's down to personal taste beds were fine but that's also down to personal firmness likes and dislikes

The location of the b&b was beautiful, and I would definitely use it for future stays in the area. Cozy, homely with a peaceful sleep achieved.
The host was welcoming, but a little too welcoming.... There are things in your b&b that I didn't need to be shown after a long drive. I can use a TV, I know what a wardrobe is, and the shower push start is straightforward. Im sure many would require and appreciate your direction/breifing, but after a long drive, I just needed the keys.

Special place in a quaint spot. We were taken with the whole area and this stay just kept the delight going. Top room has a skylight view of the peak across the way. The host could not have been nicer, leading us up the maze of stairs to this nest. We got so many suggestions and intel to make the adventures pop. Room was warm, quiet and got great sleep. Sack breakfast was down well and get the lunch baskets, truly inspired.
We had wonky time connecting to Wi-Fi but it eventually worked. Also the common area was hard to get warm so we didn’t hang there long.

Richard and Barbara were excellent hosts. The room was cosy and clean. I particularly favoured the recyclable , hygienic way the drinks were presented. My room overlooked the mini Morrisons store but nevertheless was quiet. Very close to bus terminal and railway station. I liked the breakfast bag and offer of lunch or afternoon tea bags with homemade items to eat on the move. .
No lift but as an old building it is not surprising. It is hard to find anything negative.

It was in the middle of nowhere yet in the middle of everything! Me and my partner had no trouble exploring the North of Wales by stopping here, Richard (the owner) was more than accommodating and always made the effort to come and say hi every morning during breakfast in the café area and give recommendations on where to go. Would highly recommend if you're looking for somewhere while you explore and trek across the north of Wales

Richard was a very good host. Helpful, friendly and welcoming. He gave us some great locations for walks close by, which we would not have otherwise found. Great views from our room as we expected because we booked the mountain view room. Very comfortable bed. Warm room and hot water. Good set up with continental breakfast as take away or facility to eat in dinning room which offered more teas, coffee, microwave, plates ect.
Shower was not as powerful as I would like. Although water was nice and hot. Room could do with updating, but was warm and comfortable.
