Breakfast was ok . Would have liked option of cereal , toast one day rather than offered food but can see advantage of being able to take breakfast out with you , Location was ideal , good size room , Host was very attentive , knowledgeable and welcoming King room v good size Good views Nice having private car park Towels changed daily

Showers and one bathroom very small Housekeeping in room not done time we were there . Floor was bit messy and would have liked that cleaned , Beautiful house : could do with some updating , ( just my opinion ) wasn’t that I didn’t like property although would not stop me staying again or recommending to others

This guesthouse was perfect for us as we came by train and it is only a short walk away. This was especially convenient when we were catching the Steam Train the next day and it was raining, so close proximity to the station was a bonus. While not a hot breakfast, the packaged breakfast items were convenient and we could have them in our room, or take them with us on the train. The host was welcoming and helpful with great advice on what we could do in the town.

A variety of fruit in the breakfast bags would have been good as we had bananas both days and my husband doesn't eat them- but this is a minor issue really and it was OK because I then got to eat two. 😊

I was concerned we might hear the trains, but didn’t hear a thing from there. The owner was very welcoming and accommodating. He provided us with plentiful vegan breakfasts that were waiting for us to collect when we wanted and he came up and explained how to use the TV in the bedroom. It’s a well placed base to go out and explore with the most amazing scenery on the door step. There is also a small Morrisons opposite if you need any supplies. You can park your car off the road. It was very good value for money. There was a hairdryer, books and leaflets on days out in the room, portable heaters, blanket and even a couple of hot water bottles. The soap in the room was eco friendly which I liked and they didn’t change towels every day if you didn’t need to which is great.

I think for the price we paid, everything was as expected. The decor and upkeep was a little dated, but I chose the place based on price. Power shower was nice a hot, just not overly powerful. We got fish and chips one night which was great, but we struggled to find more places to eat in the evening as most places were closed. (Did find Grapes hotel 10mins up the road though for food)

A great find, we genuinely enjoyed our stay at Isallt guest house. A warm welcome on arrival, we were given a large double room that was ensuite and very comfortable with fantastic views of Blaenau Ffestiniog and the surrounding mountains. It's quite central, although there's not a lot to do at night ( to be fair, we were shattered anyway after long days out), we decided to go out for an Indian meal on our first night, about 300 yards walk and very nice it was too. A Continental type breakfast is supplied which we found more than ample, which you can either eat in or take out. The Issalt is within easy reach of many of the local attractions, making it an ideal base.

The excellently located guest house was welcoming, clean and homey. The view both from the room and terrace, and not only, were breathtaking. There was plenty of space in the car park at the rear and a small Morrison’s across the road was able to cover our unexpected needs. For anyone interested, the guest house has direct access to the train station. Our host, Richard, was most charming and knowledgeable with trip suggestions and take away lunch boxes on the ready. We give our stamp of approval. Choose this guest house.

The owner was very cheerful when checking in and gave a lot of great places to visit nearby. They were very accommodating. There was 24 hour use of a microwave, cutlery and dishes as well as tea and coffee facilities in our room and downstairs. They also had a range of games you could borrow which helped after travelling all day and keeping our child entertained.

Our room was lovely however the bed was uncomfortable with only 2 very flat pillows. A few parts of the room could have been cleaner or needed updating.

The stay was very pleasant. We chose a budget room that turned out to be very comfortable for the price. It is not a premium room but has everything you need for a short stay. If you care about a budget option, I highly recommend it as a starting point for the nearest trails. Great café in the city centre, well equipped Coop a few steps away. The owner Richard is very sympathetic and helpful!

Located just above the railway station and bus stop (ideal!) this friendly, cosy guesthouse suited us perfectly. Very friendly helpful host. We had a homely room on the top floor with a nice big comfortable bed. Tea and coffee making facilities. Decent bathroom with shower. Really good was the fridge. Breakfast was a packed one to collect in the morning really handy for going out for the day or not having to get up early. We were provided with a nice healthy vegan breakfast option as we had requested. We were also provided with non-dairy milk in the room.

It was all good. If you have heavy luggage (help was offered to us with luggage) though or you are not good with stairs you might not want the top floor.

Room was spacious and very clean, little fridge was very useful. Beds comfortable and the room had good heating which was welcome with the wet welsh weather! Richard was very friendly and helpful and went out of his way to help wherever he cood. The breakfast bags were very nice and perfect for an early start. We also got a lunch box which was very nice also. Parking was easy in the car park and the location was good with a co-op and morrisons nearby.

The hospitality shown by Richard was absolutely second to none! Every care was taken prior to arrival & extra thought shown with the breakfast bags particularly for my daughter who follows a vegan diet. The microwave in the dining room was an absolute plus & the maps to show us the way to the dam & lakes were fantastic. We would definitely visit again. Oh & Ann made us chuckle with her chat & banter!

We were so pleased to have an en-suite & the room was comfortable in temperature & amenities. Shower could do with an update. That would be my only negative but this didn’t dampen our experience at this wonderful guest house.
