Hotel location was ideal for our visit to Bodnant Gardens and Llandudno which is an hour away. Staff were welcoming, friendly and very attentive. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable. well equipped offering tea, coffee, biscuits and cartons of water on our arrival after a long trip from South Wales which was very welcoming. We also booked a table for an evening meal in the restaurant which although wasn't an extensive menu but what was served was enjoyable. I would definitely book this hotel again if I am visiting North Wales.

There was nothing about this hotel I didn't like.

Lovely location, perfect for visit to zipworld as only 5 minute walk. Clean and fresh decor, comfy bed, and nice and quiet. Loved that we received a free upgrade to a king-size room, the room also had a bath, which we were unable to use as the plug didn't work (room 18), this wasn't a huge issue as I wasn't expecting to use a bath (I was aiming to mention on checking out but forgot!). Buffet breakfast was good, plenty of hot food and a good selection of cereals, pastries, and fruit. Stunning views and lovely outside space. There was not a huge selection of food on the menu, but the chicken gyro was very good.

A lot of the staff lack confidence in customer service, on the Saturday evening we booked for dinner and there was only one front of house staff member with the experience required for a busy dining room, she was absolutely amazing but needed some experienced help.

The hotel is located a short distance from Blaenau Ffestiniog, on a hillside with good views over the mountains and the valley. My room was of a good size as was the bathroom. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. I had dinner in the restaurant several times, the food is good although the choice is limited. There is ample private parking right next to the hotel.

My room had only a small window at the rear of the hotel and was decorated in sombre colours which made it very dark, even with the sunny weather. The bathroom was also decorated in dark olive brown, and without any windows it actually felt oppressive. I think the room would look a lot more inviting with brighter colours! The restaurant seemed expensive, but then prices have gone up a lot everywhere so probably not excessive.

The staff were the standout. So friendly and helpful and really warm. The food was also superb. We had some small plates and sides for tea, then the breakfast in the morning which was one of the best buffet style breakfasts I’ve had. Real quality ingredients.

The only thing I would say is the pictures on Booking don’t replicate ALL of the rooms. I can’t comment on any of than the one we stayed in, but we stayed in a standard double, which was lovely and clean and great for a one night stop over. But when looking at the pictures I did think our room would be bigger and have more to it. That’s the only thing I can honestly say I was slightly misled on, everything else was lovely.

Local was perfect for our needs, with us visiting the adjacent Zip World site. Room was cosy and comfortable, as was the bed. I particularly liked that the room had a window seat. Good to sit and watch the world go by, or just have a read. Food was good, staff were friendly and I was able to arrange a late check-out which was useful.

Nothing major really. The shower placement isnt ideal, as it sprays at an angle directly towards the opening of the shower cubicle. Not easy to avoid soaking the floor and skirting boards, and should really have been fitted in the middle of the wall and not in the corner to avoid this problem.

The hotel is spotless and staff very attentive, the restaurant although a limited menu is good and the food was great, amazing location easy access to Snowdon, numerous castles and beaches,

Can’t say there was anything i didn’t like but definitely a couple of things i would think be welcome.. Information either in the rooms or reception about the area, we had water on our first night in the bedroom but not after and didn’t sell it at the bar. the bar is a bit limited on some mixers for drinks, but as i have said nothing major.

Perfect location for ziplining experience. Hotel was spotlessly clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff were super friendly and obliging

We had a tasty meal in the dining room, enjoying a mix of starter/nibbles and ordered the chicken flatbread... however the 'chicken' was in my opinion, processed chicken, thinly sliced and not to my taste at all... I would have preferred chicken fillet and paid a bit more... I think the catering team need to consider this comment as constructive and implement it maybe?

The location was perfect & the views were amazing. The breakfast was lovely, the atmosphere was always nice in the pub/restaurant. We got a free upgrade to a King room, which was beautifully presented. It really is a completely dog friendly hotel!

Some curtains to block that beautiful sun out in the early hours of the morning would have really helped. We had to send the crumble back twice as it arrived cold both times. Some staff seemed far less attentive than others.

We stayed in the Llechwedd Glamping tents as we wasn’t able to stay at the hotel. We were very happy with our accommodation, it felt like we were staying in a cabin as opposed to a tent! It was clean, warm and very comfortable. The beds were lovely, the shower was fab and we had a fully equipped kitchenette where we cooked some lovely meals. As there’s no TV, we played board games and cards which was great as these days too much family time can be spent on phones or television/films. We had breakfast on our own terrace and walked our dogs on the Quarry paths early in the morning. Watching the zip lines across the quarry was fun too! We had our own log fire which was a lovely treat of an evening whilst playing chess. Highly recommended.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like about the property at all. The only minus was having to park our car at the bottom of the steep slate track to the tents and having someone drive us up in their 4X4. We decided to pack our car the night before, making several trips up and down the slate track so we only had to walk down ourselves with our dogs in the morning that we checked out.
