The Vagabond Bunkhouse is a beautiful old world style building, set in a tranquil area with a lovely forest backdrop. The staff are very friendly and the pizzas are some of the best we've ever had. Location is perfect for exploring Betws-y-Coed and the surrounding areas. You can walk to the local restaurants, Spar, Londis and the station, where you can catch the excellent Sherpa'r bus to-and-from Snowdon if you're planning to hike up. An all-day 'bws' ticket for the family is £15, which is good value as you don't need to worry about parking at Snowdon. Back at the Vagabond the rooms are pretty basic but clean and comfortable. The family room (sleeps 5) has two bunk beds: one with single up and down, and one with a single on top and a double (3/4) under. It also had a small basin but nothing more. Being a bunk house the toilets and showers are communal. The dining area and deck have lovely wooden tables and are welcoming. The Vagabond serves pizza for supper and a full cooked breakfast (extra charges). Considering the limited menu I don't think they would have a problem if you bought your own food to eat there. Pros: location, affordability, great staff. Cons: not self catering, communal facilities.

Lovely family friendly bunkhouse near the Fairy Glen waterfalls, Swallow Falls and Pont-y- pair bridge forest and riverside walking trail. Great food, amazing Italian pizzas and chips made all fresh by the chef, hosts gave my children free strawberries, great nice sleep, spacious room, comfy beds, clean toilets and showers, basin in our room to brush teeth, toilets on every floor, they had a little car park to the right of the bunkhouse, I enjoyed a coffee outside in the front garden in the morning, we could use the kitchen to get water and make coffee or tea. Kids watched Cbeebies in the lounge on their TV. Great wi-fi and our room had electricity extensions so we could all charge our phones. I loved this gorgeous cosy characteristic Welsh cottage style bunkhouse. Beautiful rural location.

Location was ideal - within walking distance of the rest of the town (though I drove in because I was feeling lazy (and had already done more than enough steps). Staff were welcoming and helpful, the place looked well kept, some nice beers on tap. There was a bit of confusion in me thinking you could just order food there and then - but it wasn't as if the town wasn't a million miles away, so something to keep in mind. The room was spot on - nice and quiet, managed to get a decent night's kip.
More clarity on where to park your car would have helped me - though in fairness it did say roadside parking - perhaps I was being too polite ;) One of the toilet locks was bust too - but not an issue because there were plenty of other toilets.

Expectations for a bunkhouse are for the basic needs to be met. A warm welcome from the staff, a bed, the option for a cold beer and a bite to eat are all you need. Cally welcomed me on arrival and sorted me out with my door codes. She had messaged me the previous day to check on my arrival time and to see if I wanted to order a pizza for the evening. I got to my room which was at the top of the house, a bunk in a six man room. Got myself settled and then went for a walk and a beer down the road. Came back a bit later and settled into the bar for my fresh made pizza and a few more beers. They serve some very nice beers! Ordered breakfast ready for the morning. Headed upstairs after the bar shut to a nice warm room and a bottom bunk that was really comfortable and cosy. The only downside was the chainsaw noise emanating from the bunk above me. Despite this I had a good nights sleep. In the morning I went down to breakfast being prepared by Cally that was coming out like a conveyor belt to all the hungry guests. Breakfast was good value and all freshly cooked. Fresh coffee, tea and all the toast you want as well. I recommend the place.
Complimentary earplugs might be a good idea!

Really enjoyable solo stay in a cosy spot. Well run by polite and attentive staff, always engaging in conversation and making sure I was comfortable. Back from the main round so nice and quiet/private. Short walk to the centre, the staff have plenty of recommendations. Would stay here again and met some very nice people Thank you! George

A basic room in an old house with easy parking right next to the house. The place itself is within walkable distance (10 minutes) to town centre.
The shared shower cubicles are tiny with too little privacy. The two steps outside our room is a bit steep and uneven and extra caution is required.

Clean, quiet and comfortable with an excellent host! Lovely breakfast too. Location was perfect.
Nothing we didn’t like…we had an issue with messages getting through from Booking.com but the host called me to answer the questions we had. I think a more detailed listing with kitchen information/food/tea and coffee and what you need to bring would have answered all our questions at the time of booking, though I appreciate things may vary seasonally.
