The best thing about any business is the staff team, and this hotel has just that. Really friendly, professional and helpful. The breakfast is well cooked and adequate. The facilities in the rooms are good, and the location is amazing.

This hotel is only really let down by 2 things - 1/ The hotel really needs a deep clean, especially the carpets on the stairs and communal areas - grouting on showers tiles - cobwebs round windows and ceiling lights. 2/ No hot water before about 8.30am (which was on other reviews) - I got around this by a shower before bed.

The hotel is a very good base for touring Snowdonia with easy access to major road links. Free parking was a bonus with disabled parking as well. We had a room with a view, which was nice. The bar, in fact they have 2 bars was good and a great breakfast, but no orange juice.

Didn't like the fact the decor was still set in the 1950s, it was very dated indeed, Hotel needs new carpets throughout, a paint job wouldn't go a miss either, mould on the ceiling in the bathroom due to no extractor fan and mould in the grouting, basin was cracked in 5 places, the push plug didn't work and the water too ages to drain away. Room furniture is 1950s and needs desperately to be upgraded. No air con either. Also the curtains could have been blackout ones. Definitely a deep clean of the whole hotel wouldn't go a miss either.

Stayed at the eagles for work as we were doing an early check in for a family in our holiday let The Bridge cottage 9 bridge street which is connected to the eagles car park great for families. The eagles is full of history from the moment you walk into the reception we was greeted by the manager manny who is very professional and courteous and an asset to the eagles it’s a perfect location with great parking friendly locals great pubs chip shop take aways all with in walking distance also perfect for the adventurous types zip world forest walks swimming. Nothing perfect location and great parking

Loved the location - so pretty. The decor of the rooms was gorgeous, very old fashioned but lovely. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were friendly. We booked two rooms and both had a walk-in shower which was great. In particular, I loved the big old windows which opened really wide, and the fact that fans were provided in the rooms (it was 30 degrees whilst we stayed there, so this was much appreciated!).

The bathrooms were a little dirty - nothing major, just a bit of mould round the bottom of the tiles. I would also say that, though the location was beautiful, there weren’t many options to go for food in the evening. But we did find a lovely fish n chip restaurant in the end and it was brilliant. The food at the hotel itself also sounded very nice.

The room was clean, I appreciated the parking, and the location was fantastic. I did not get a chance to try the breakfast as I had to leave early every morning for breakfast. There was a pub downstairs if someone got hungry or needed a drink.

I had hot water but might have needed a new showerhead. I understand that some places work with smaller spaces and have smaller bathrooms because I travel a lot. The hotel did not have good water pressure but that is not fully something the hotel can control. My friend who lives in the area said that the area in general does not have good water pressure and I had a similar experience at another hotel the year before to support that fact.

Great location, lovely large room with wonderful view, exceedingly comfortable bed, good breakfasts, the riverside seating area, easy parking onsite, helpful staff, very dog friendly. There was a small music festival with several guitar bands in the grounds on one of the evenings, but not a problem I very much enjoyed it! Probably worth checking for events if you definitely need peace and quiet.

The room was up two flights of steep stairs (not clear when booking on here and there's no lift), no plug in the sink, shower took 5 mins to heat up. Wouldn't put me off staying again, though I'd request a room on first floor.

we would like to give a special mention to the member of staff that was on the bar on the evenings of our stay. He check us in and was professional and friendly. Sorry, we did not get his name. Also, the food was excellent.

Communication between myself and the hotel could have been a lot better. Upon the recommendation of the hotel, it was suggested that we book our evening meal. I did this by email but as I did not get a reply, I rang the hotel and got through to an ansa phone and left a message. At check in, I mentioned this and no reservation for our meal had been made.

Love the building the bar and the area great food in walking distance shop walking distance the scenery. Fantastic

The bathroom had a step where you had to step up then step down really need a sigh on the door to warn you about it as me and my father almost fell down during the night and when we first used the bathroom the shower hose and water pressure wasn't great when having a shower having a bath no problem the Internet signal was rubbish didn't reach. the room completely as wanted to use my firestick and laptop so back both away during are stay

The hotel was really nice, it's in a small little village, there's a few pubs around but honestly the bar in the hotel although small, has a great atmosphere! Craig served us and was really friendly with great, quick service! The room was spacious but cosy at the same time. We had a great view of the lake and a seat in the window so I could enjoy my coffee and look at a great view. The breakfast was also really really nice, the staff were so welcoming in the morning and couldn't do enough for us.

The only small criticisms were parking can be quite difficult if there is something going on in the village, there was a Christmas market on and people had used the car park - not the hotels fault but it did make parking difficult. And my pillow was alittle lumpy, but it wasn't unbearable.

The food is OH WOW! It is not what you expect in North Wales to have exceptional homemade curries, but they are extremely good. The breakfast was great, and perfectly cooked poached eggs and all you can eat!

The decor is a little tired. The carpets need replacing or a very deep clean on the stairs, and a lick of paint on the doors, etc, is an easy thing to fix. Oh, and water pressure in the shower is VERY low.
