we would like to give a special mention to the member of staff that was on the bar on the evenings of our stay. He check us in and was professional and friendly. Sorry, we did not get his name. Also, the food was excellent.

Communication between myself and the hotel could have been a lot better. Upon the recommendation of the hotel, it was suggested that we book our evening meal. I did this by email but as I did not get a reply, I rang the hotel and got through to an ansa phone and left a message. At check in, I mentioned this and no reservation for our meal had been made.

Love the building the bar and the area great food in walking distance shop walking distance the scenery. Fantastic

The bathroom had a step where you had to step up then step down really need a sigh on the door to warn you about it as me and my father almost fell down during the night and when we first used the bathroom the shower hose and water pressure wasn't great when having a shower having a bath no problem the Internet signal was rubbish didn't reach. the room completely as wanted to use my firestick and laptop so back both away during are stay

The hotel was really nice, it's in a small little village, there's a few pubs around but honestly the bar in the hotel although small, has a great atmosphere! Craig served us and was really friendly with great, quick service! The room was spacious but cosy at the same time. We had a great view of the lake and a seat in the window so I could enjoy my coffee and look at a great view. The breakfast was also really really nice, the staff were so welcoming in the morning and couldn't do enough for us.

The only small criticisms were parking can be quite difficult if there is something going on in the village, there was a Christmas market on and people had used the car park - not the hotels fault but it did make parking difficult. And my pillow was alittle lumpy, but it wasn't unbearable.

The hotel is a historical building in the middle of a village in the East of the high part of Wales, located along the river, next to a beautiful old church, historical archway bridge, and castle. The surrounding area is very beautiful. The room was good with a seat in the window overlooking the street.

The hotel has seen better days, and although still very charming, also has some issues. The WIFI didn't work in our room, and the overall state of maintenance could be improved. The restaurant has a bit too much of the look and feel of an Indian takeaway. The hotel was a bit overpriced.

The only thing was at evening meal some ordered from the Evening menu and it was good I only wanted a sandwich But on asking we were told evening menu only no sandwiches or snacks

From the minute we got there to when we left the staff were all brilliant. We had an evening meal very good menu I had Steak & Ale pie and my husband pork belly. Both very good portion size, hot and cooked to perfection. We couldn't manage a sweet. The service was quick. The bed was very comfortable and a nice quiet room. In the morning we had breakfast and a great selection of self service English breakfast, cereals, toast, juice and tea and coffee were provided.

This isn't really a complaint but the Hotel inside was looking a little tired and could do with a freshen up but this wouldn't stop me staying again as this is a very old building and a very busy hotel so not easy to do.

The room was massive, the four poster bed was both impressive and comfortable. The staff were so friendly and helpful and went out off their way to make our stay. So magical. Our room had view's over the beer garden and on to the meandering Afon Conwy. The evening meals were well cooked and presented well. The waiting staff were very good. The full welsh breakfast was something to behold and filling and tasty. We had our pet with us and we were all made to feel most welcome. It was our wedding anniversary holiday and the staff helped me spring a surprise. My wife loved .

There wasn't anything really wrong with our trip.

The room was excellent, with good facilities the settee was comfortable the bed (a 4 Poster) was comfortable, the bath room was modern with a walk in shower with good water pressure. The night we went down for dinner was served in the bar, with a good selection, and was well cooked and presented, breakfast was excellent, the full Welsh was of excellant quality and well presented and i managed to eat it every day we where their. the hotel was situated just up from the river with excellant views of the welsh mountains.

The only down side was the stairs, being of an age it was along way up to the second floor but we managed it and i would not deter anybody using this hotel because of them

Location perfect as I was involved in a concert in the St Grwst Church very close by. Needed easy parking and an overnight stay. Had time the following morning for a delightful Riverside walk from the hotel before driving home to Chester. Interesting gothic vibe to the building, and I found the suit of armour by the staircase very Hogwarts. Warm and comfortable little single room. .

Great breakfast, but some items were cold (tomatoes, mushrooms and hash browns.

Nice hotel though I think it could do with a refurbishment. The bar was good. The restaurant looked good. The bedroom was spacious and a good size bed.

No lift. Shower grouting needs a good clean. Lovely big shower but a small shower head very disappointing. Shower tray very slippery. I had to lay a towel on it when my husband had a shower as he’s recovering from a broken hip so it was a bit scary for him. Tiny TV in the spacious bedroom. Watching it in bed wasn’t great. Our second morning we had breakfast in the restaurant so could help ourselves to cereal toast and juice before our cooked breakfast arrived. The first morning we were in a small room and no juice or cereals were on offer. We just got the cooked breakfast and they gave us the toast.
