The Luxury Family room is amazing, a king size bed and two singles under a high vaulted roof plus the kids room and adult rooms are separated by a door so you can get some peace at the end of the day! Our host was extremely helpful and polite throughout our stay ensuring we had everything we needed and offering advice on what to see locally etc.
The only downside was our spa bath, yes it worked and my kids loved it but its a little on the small side for an adult so my wife and I didn't get to enjoy it unfortunately but to be fair we booked based on the overall appearance of the room so not a huge issue for us.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Maenan Abbey while attending a wedding nearby, and our experience was outstanding in every respect. The Abbey is set amidst beautifully maintained grounds in the scenic Conwy Valley, offering an atmosphere of serenity and historical charm. Although our schedule did not allow us to dine at the Abbey in the evening, we thoroughly enjoyed breakfast in the morning. The selection was generous and varied, the food of excellent quality, and the service both professional and attentive. Our accommodation was clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, with delightful views over the gardens and surrounding countryside. It proved the perfect place to relax and unwind after the wedding celebrations. A particular highlight of our stay was the exceptional hospitality we received from David, our host. Despite the Abbey being exceptionally busy that day due to a prom event, David went out of his way to ensure we were well looked after. Most impressively, he personally drove us to our wedding venue, an act of kindness and generosity that we deeply appreciated. Maenan Abbey is a truly remarkable establishment, combining historic charm with exemplary service. It is ideally situated for those wishing to explore the beauty of North Wales. We would not hesitate to return and highly recommend it to others seeking refined and welcoming accommodation in the area.
Nothing it was a completely perfect.

Very quirky - love the decor. It might look a little ‘tired’ in places, but it is all part of the charm! Easy access to all the locations we intended to visit, but you do need a car! Very comfortable and the staff work hard to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
Nothing really. I suppose if you don’t like animals, then the properties pet cats might put you off as they roam around the place, but they are friendly and adorable, so again, I thought they only added to the feel and character of the place.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is gorgeous inside and outside. I loved the decor . Our room was great and it had plenty of space with a very large comfortable bed and I really loved that we had Netflix. We had a lovely tasty meal in the evening and the gentleman that served us was very sweet and helpful. Breakfast was good also. I would definitely recommend the hotel and I definitely wish to return but for longer next time.
Leaving as I enjoyed it so much that I didn’t want to leave as I fell in love with the place

As soon as we came in, the member of staff saw that I was with my elderly mother and immediately got to change our room number as he knew that ours was on the second floor and there is no lift. He called a gentleman who was going to be at the hotel on our 3rd night, and asked if he would kindly swap rooms, which the kind man did. Our room was clean and comfy. Karen greeted us with a big smile and 'Good Morning' every day for breakfast and was an absolute joy! She got my mum a cushion to sit on, and it would be ready, on her chair every morning. Nothing was too much to ask! Great location. We chose to eat our evening meals there, and enjoyed a varied menu with lots of choices.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Maenan Abbey Hotel and was absolutely blown away by the experience. The location is truly stunning, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the Welsh countryside. The hotel itself is rich in period features, giving it a charming and authentic feel. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the friendly, helpful, and pleasant host, who made sure every aspect of my stay was perfect. The room was huge, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. It was incredibly quiet, ensuring I had a great night's sleep on the most comfortable bed. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the food. I enjoyed a 5-star meal that was expertly prepared, followed by a freshly cooked-to-order breakfast the next morning. The breakfast was cooked to perfection, with a generous supply of traditional items that left me feeling thoroughly satisfied. The bathroom was luxurious, featuring a very powerful shower that was a delight to use. Ample parking was available, making my stay even more convenient. Though I originally came to the area for business, I am already planning to return with my family for a holiday. Maenan Abbey Hotel is a hidden gem, and I can’t recommend it highly enough!
You would struggle to find anything out of place here

The staff were very friendly and helpful and his pets were very cute too. It’s been done out quite quirky with a historical background which emphasised the character and charm of the building. The food was exceptional and staff were hardworking and very skilled at their jobs. The views were also outstanding and it’s in a beautiful location. Would definitely visit again.
The bathroom only had a neck curtain which wasn’t brilliant when we had a caravan park behind us. The only other issue was as we were quite close to the bar (first bedroom at the top of the stairs) we could hear people in the bar laughing and chatting which isn’t great when you’ve had a long time and it’s after 10. Perhaps a more solid door would be suitable

Well this is one of those places that you want to keep as your little secret. The best two nights I've had in a long time. Only planned on staying one. The most beautiful building in the most beautiful location with the most beautiful rooms, delicious food and a fabulous host David who interacted with his guests. You never have to be alone here unless you want to be as the cosy little bar afterwards is so welcoming. I sat around with the other guests and David and our dogs drinking wine for hours in the evening. Such a lovely ambience. The attention to details in the rooms is second to none. There is an extensive dinner menu which changes daily and is freshly cooked and beautifully presented. Breakfast is of the same standard too and the lady serving breakfast is friendly, delightful and welcoming. I could go on and on. Its just wonderful at Maenan Abbey Hotel.
Nothing. It was perfection

Food was very good and well priced, room was good with good services on the TV for entertainment, bed was comfortable, location was really good with free parking, very good advanced lock on bedroom door to our room,
our dining experience was good but background music to create a better dining experience/atmosphere would of been better, sitting with other guests it was so quiet like a libary you couldnt talk without the feeling you were being listened to, the decor needs to be updated in the dining room/breakfast area and also in our room, the wallpaper looked tired.

Beautiful property which must be expensive and difficult to upkeep. This showed in a few places. But made very welcome with our dog. And value for money.
It was as rated and you should take that into consideration. I think bad comments were made by people with higher expectations
