Very close to Snowdon Mountain. It was much better than what I had expected. Kitchen facilities, self-catering were brilliant. With all the washing up facilities and pots and pans. Though it shared bathrooms, they were in good condition. Not too much rush on one block, toilet and shower cubicles are blocked from top to bottom to give us full privacy when using the facilities. As it was shared space I was a little reluctant when I booked them, but found them easy to use as I did not see many people on the block. There were plenty of toilet and shower facilities of each block. Beds were comfortable, with good-condition bedding and blankets. There is a clean warm place to eat your own cooked meal, a fridge and freezer available to store your food, and labels available to mark your food items, before you store them. We had a really good experience as a family. Free Internet is available to be used within the building as there is no good mobile reception in that area( mountain area).
No parking, we had to pay £40 to park our car across the road, overnight stay. (12 hours). Booking can only be done on line.

Absolutely outstanding location, right at the start of the Snowdon hike, across the road from a carpark (see below about the carpark). The rooms were comfortable. The beds were amazing. The hostel was lovely. Lots of family, cosy things to do on an evening. Would recommend..
BE CAREFUL WITH PARKING!!!! We didn't even think about it but, although there is a carpark across the road, we were told all the spaces were booked ( not by the hostel. They were really helpful in helping us find an alternative) but it turned out they weren't all booked. Anyway the alternative is to park about three miles away and get a bus back to the start of the hike. We found this a bit of a hassle but you may not mind.

The place is in a great location, bang opposite the start point for the Miners and Pyg tracks to the Snowdon summit. The rooms are clean and ours was fairly spacious. They're as practical, as you'd expect from a YHA and the staff were very good, friendly and helpful.
The parking was a bit of a faff - there's a car park opposite but it's expensive and books up quickly. There's also one down the road (Nant Peris) where you can park for £5 and take a bus up to the hostel, but you can't park overnight there, which is a problem. There's a longer stay just park car park behind it but it took some time to find out about that one. All in all a great place to stay though, regardless.

I chose YHA firstly for its perfect location. I arrived in the evening just in time to enjoy the sunset. And then I had the best birthday morning enjoying my coffee with a wonderful view before exploring The Miners Track (the path starts literally 10 meters from the hostel). The staff are lovely. And the famous British breakfast (I had veggie version though) kept me energized till the end of my adventure. When I can feel my legs again and decide to do the Snowdon summit one more time, I will not think twice to stay here again.
I wish the guests tried to close their doors without a bang

I had a fantastic stay at YHA Snowdon! The location is absolutely unbeatable—right in the heart of the stunning Snowdonia National Park, with direct access to some of the best hiking trails, including the route up Snowdon itself. The views are breathtaking, and waking up surrounded by nature was a real highlight. The hostel was clean, warm, and well-maintained, with cozy communal areas perfect for relaxing after a day outdoors. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, offering great local tips and making everyone feel welcome. The kitchen facilities were also excellent, making it easy to prepare meals and meet other travelers. I would highly recommend YHA Snowdon to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable base to explore this beautiful part of Wales. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The location is beautiful, the staff were fantastic, very friendly, polite and very helpful, doing everything they can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The showers, toilets and rooms were very clean and comfortable and the communal areas were the same. Any queries or concerns were dealt with quickly and efficiently and there was a lot of relevant information about the hostel, walking routes, public transport etc around the hostel. The breakfast choices are excellent and are unlimited too which really sets you up for the day whatever you're doing.
Although the breakfast choices are very good and the full English was very tasty, the only thing was that mine was lukewarm on both occasions at around 8am in the morning, although still very tasty. I didn't say anything on this occasion but I imagine they would have heated it up if I'd asked them as they were very attentive and responsive to any requests.

Location was perfect for 3 routes up snowdon, literally the front door is the start point ! Couldn’t believe our luck. Food was brilliant and well priced, nice warm room for a very reasonable price, was lucky to get a parking space in the hostel car park so very pleased with that. Would 100% recommend.
Only slight negative was that after a wet day out on the hills what you really need is a good shower to warm up, it was warm but the shower in our room had extremely poor pressure, almost dribbling out. We used the communal one instead but that was just as bad. But overall still a great stay and will be staying again in the future.

I’ve stayed here many times, never had any issues. Last minute plan, I managed to find a bed for 1night at a decent price. Staff always helpful, friendly and accommodating with my needs, such as leaving luggage in a safe place while I go for a run before check-in or after check-out. Plus as I guest I could use the showers after check-out too. Self catering is good and comfortable basic rooms. Location is ideal to get around by bus and on foot. Plus good food options for dinner too!
Nothing to say.

stopped after climbing Snowdon, just what was needed. self catering facilities well supplied but decoded to eat via the hostal and pizzas really nice. could do with just a little kettle in room to save going to self catering but didn't make much difference. Stayed on side of the hostel facing the road, nice views, nicey road, but expected forthe area, but quiet through the night. Very helpful and friendly staff.
no chair in room to sit, but can use lounge area

Amazing views location was the best. Staff where amazing and rooms where clean and exactly how described.
We left a phone in the room, it was 6am there was nonway to get back into the room to retrieve it, even with phoning the emergency phone line. Other than that it was an amazing stay, good value for money and excellent customer service. I came to do snowdon with my son and we made it.. had a comfortable stay the night before too at this YHA.
