The property sits on immaculate grounds with a view of the Maitland River. Each room has its own small private area with a bistro set to sit and enjoy your morning coffee or your drink to watch the sunset. The morning breakfast provided was fabulous! The host covered all food groups with good variety, orange juice, teas and your choice of coffee, cappuccino, lattes etc…I enjoy accommodations where the website photos are true to what you receive upon arrival.

The two bedroom apartment which we originally booked for our party of 3 is only accessible via outside steep stairs. This was not suitable for 2 senior travel companions that I was travelling with. To the best of my knowledge, this information was not listed on the property website or perhaps I didn’t read it close enough. Other than that the property was outstanding.

The suite and facility was beautiful and well maintained. The little touches, flowers in the room, makeup towels, updated decor were lovely. The breakfast was well served and very boutique style.

Te only thing I would say could be improved was the balcony of the suite. The wood was a little worn and needed to be stained and the couch cushions a little dirty but this did not impact our stay. I actually remarked that the pictures on the internet do not do this property justice!! Take some additional pictures to showcase this property!!

Room was very nice and quiet overnight. Nice little patio looking out to the river Maitland. Continental breakfast was very good, and a nice little dining room.

Traffic noise over the bridge on the nearby highway; lot's of truck traffic to/from the salt mine! Would have been perfect if hotel was within walking distance to the town. Management might think about adding a "happy hour" in the late afternoon/early evening, as there is no evening meal served at the hotel.

The space was clean and tidy. We were thrilled to use the kitchen and have a full size fridge, it made our stay much easier. The breakfast in the morning was wonderful- lots of options and lots of food. Front desk staff was helpful and courteous. We had a short but lovely stay.

The stairs to the suite were safe but unexpected. We were okay getting up and down, but probably not the best for those with mobility challenges or carrying heavy bags up or down. The pull out couch was decent for one night, but not the same comfort level as the beds; because of this I'd say the room is 2 + 1 beds, not 3.

The staff were amazing- kind, professional and helpful. The property is quite nice and the rooms simple and extremely clean. The included breakfast was delicious with hard boiled eggs, amazing bread, ham, baked goods, cereal, yogurt, fruit, etc and absolutely everything was available and easy. I brought my dog with me and they had a bowl and towels in the room for her making us both feel comfortable and welcome. It was also within a five minute drive of the downtown and the beach .All in all, I enjoyed my stay very much.

The air conditioner was a little noisy when it kicked in but I am also a light sleeper so it's probably fine for most people.

Excellent taste in furnishings and design. Welcome and reception exceptional along with the continental breakfast. In fact, I had messaged the hotel before arriving asking if there would be vegan options…they said yes but I was so so pleased that the selections far surpassed what I was expecting. Also, I recommend getting a room on the river-view side as it really added to the charm and hotel experience. We will definitely spread the word about this gem of a place to stay in a lovely little town in Ontario!

Only minus was the traffic on the bridge near by but it certainly wasn’t a deal breaker.

The room was very comfortable. We had a lovely little terrace with a view of the river, and it was a bonus to have a bottle of wine in the fridge to enjoy while we sat looking at the view. I particularly appreciated having fresh flowers in the room. An excellent touch.

Can't think of anything. Cover on the bed was thin but the room was warm. Others may have preferred a thicker duvet, but I wasn't cold and slept well.

A classy place with European flavor; very clean; very friendly; very quiet; good breakfast; nice surroundings; river-view rooms obviously having advantage of ... well, the river view. Beautiful, small, quiet restaurant with subdued light jazz and classical music, unfortunately ...

... that astounding small restaurant and patio serving only breakfast. You are out of town - 3 minutes by car, but - given the geography - it's not walking distance, so ... what do you do in the evening. No dinner at the hotel, not even an evening drink. Yes, you can drive to town for dinner, but then forget the drinks. All the potential is there to offer an evening lounge with drinks, and the dinner in that small restaurant - but they are not being offered. So, that part was a disappointment ... and the place could have been absolutely perfect, if not for those 'missing amenities', quite important to some guests ...

Our 4th-year stay here for Canada Day holiday since 2018, this beautiful boutique hotel is always topnotch in cleanness and service, decent room decorations, kind and nice staff, very polite and professional manager, a cozy home away from home. Their room service is a must-try, great seafood pasta and roast duck breast. Breakfast is generous, a good range of choices, we’re satisfied. We’ll definitely come back next year. Thank you Samuels!

This is the cutest little hotel. Perfect parking right outside the room. We arrived late, past front desk hours so we got a personal call with instructions on how to get in and get comfortable. The proprietor is the kindest man and even made sure we wouldn’t miss breakfast which was included. They had pastries from the local bakery which was a nice touch. The room was completely spotless and comfortable with a little electric fireplace. They are so glad to have you as guests and offered us another night. Genuinely happy for your business. Would absolutely stay again.
