Simply incredible stay – from the communication with the stunningly friendly owner (who speaks perfect English), his great organisation of our arrival to the apartment itself. Mathieu welcomed us right in front of the door, helped us unloading our car and then drove with me to the private parking space which is a 5min walk away from the property (it costs 20 EUR per day but is totally worth it). Note: The apartment is inside the historic city wall but still outside Avignon's low emission zone so you don't need to worry about the "crit d'air" badge. And it also means that you're literally right inside the historic city center. The apartment we had is basically a big flat on two levels and boasts everything you might need. It's extremely (!) clean and has incredibly comfortable beds. There's also a beautiful outside area with a little swimming pool which works as a surprising quiet oasis (unfortunately we couldn't use it due to really bad weather). Plus: There's a well-stocked little supermarket right down the street (1min walk) with generous opening times and super-friendly staff.

Location was not in the heart of the tourist area -- about a ten minute walk. The room size was good. The bed was comfortable and shower and towels were very good. The decorations were very well done - somebody has an eye for art.

It was across the street from a school. In the morning and afternoons it was noisy and there were kids congregating outside the apartment. A couple of times, there were people (not kids) sitting on the front stoop blocking our entrance. The night before we were ready to leave, the host told us we owed 30 euros in cash for a city tax. We did not have this cash - we had to go to an ATM, which cost us an extra 5 euro. We should have known about this before.

Central location for walking to major sights restaurants and shopping. Ultra clean apartments, modern interiors with kitchens within traditional building - great for our multi generational family. Breakfasts are excellent with freshly made cakes and yoghurts a lovely touch. The hosts were thoughtful, kind and knowledgable- nothing was too much trouble and we would definitely stay again.

Our October stay meant that it was too cold to use the pool area - would be lovely in summer!Everything else was perfect for our needs.

La Maison Grivolas in Avignon, France, offers an exceptional experience in the heart of the old town. The accommodation is rustic and historical, yet spotlessly clean and equipped with all the facilities you might need and more, including a steamer and shoe cleaning equipment. The pool is a true oasis, perfect for resetting after a hot day of travel. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the host, Mathieu, who was exceptionally professional and helpful. Despite our late arrival due to a flight delay, he was flexible and accommodating. Mathieu provided invaluable local recommendations, enhancing our stay. I thoroughly recommend staying at La Maison Grivolas when visiting Avignon – you won't regret it.

The apartment was very comfortable and had everything we needed. And I very much liked the garden patio and pool area, it was a lovely way to start the day, having a fabulous breakfast and enjoying the surroundings. The hosts were wonderful, thoughtful and attentive. The service was like staying at a 5-star hotel, with a concierge services. Great advice and assistance on places to eat, shop, get tickets, see the sights, etc. The private parking (an extra fee but very reasonable), was well worth it and easy, I didn’t have to worry about my rental car sitting on a street for days.

Although laundry service was available, and at a very very reasonable rate, it would’ve been nice to have a washing machine in the apartment or on site (I’m fussy, I like to do my own laundry).

My experience at the hotel was truly exceptional, largely due to the owner's thoughtful assistance. Prior to our stay, he arranged a delightful wine tour, a hands-on cooking class at the local market, and even organized a special birthday lunch for me, despite my initial unfamiliarity with the area. His efforts immediately put me at ease, ensuring I could fully enjoy my time in Provence. We ended up staying at this hotel an extra 2 nights. It is a great central location. Each morning, waking up to the optional breakfast was a highlight. The spread included fresh coffee, croissants with delicious jams, yogurt paired with fresh fruit, and perfectly scrambled eggs. It set a wonderful tone for the day ahead. Additionally, the hotel provided invaluable recommendations for local restaurants, ensuring we enjoyed authentic dining experiences. The option for secure parking within the city walls, albeit at an additional cost, proved to be well worth it for the convenience and peace of mind it offered. Throughout our stay, the customer service was exemplary. Mattheiu and Caroline consistently went above and beyond, ensuring every aspect of our visit was memorable and enjoyable. Their dedication to hospitality truly enhanced our overall experience at the hotel.

We loved out short stay with Mattieu and Caroline. They were the most welcoming and helpful hosts we have had on our trip so far. Our room was comfortable and equipped with everything we needed and more. It was tastefully decorated, incredibly clean, and beautifully presented. We only stayed one night in Avignon as a stop on the way to Paris, but we wished we had stayed longer. Such a charming and unique village with lots of history, great shops, and a wide range of restaurants—we were so pleasantly surprised! The apartment was in a great location too. We highly recommend staying at La Maison Grivolas and be sure to take them up on their offer for breakfast, it was memorable.

Our hosts could not have been more helpful and hospitable, welcoming us on arrival, helping with car parking, giving us some great suggestions for local restaurants, and generally making sure that our stay was enjoyable. Our apartment was in a very good location, beautifully furnished, well supplied with everything we needed and very comfortable. We chose the optional breakfast, delivered to the apartment each morning by Mathieu with a smile. It is difficult to think of anything more that Mathieu and Caroline could have done to make our stay better. The next time we are in Avignon we will definitely be staying at La Maison Grivolas.

The location was great for being away from most of the busy tourist part of town. It was peaceful and quiet while being a short walk from all the festivities and important venues. The kitchen set up make it easy to bring things home and prepare some of our own meals.

The bedroom in our apartment was on the second floor while the toilet was on the first floor. This could not be avoided but if you don't like stairs it may be a good idea to choose a different room.

We couldn’t recommend this place more. We stayed with our two year old baby and had a fantastic time. The homemade breakfasts were delicious and Mathieu was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. It is obvious from the way the flat was furnished and provisioned that the hosts are very thoughtful, considerate people. Great kitchen setup for cooking for a little one, with great local ingredients available at the nearby Les Halles. And we hadn’t expected the housekeeping - thank you. The location is also great - quiet and very central.
