The hotel was very nice. There's a really good restaurant just in front. The hotel has a great breakfast. Everything was clean and pretty.

We did several tours through a guy called Mateo and there were several problems due to lack of communication and him not checking his phone. We felt like he was trying to rip us off all the time. He wasn't upfront about how it was unlikely to see dolphins during the dolphin tour. We talked to some locals after the tour that told us it was rare to see some. Mateo told us "it's a game" and that it's common to see some. Which we learned was not true. The hotel is fantastic but I wouldn't recommend booking tours with Mateo.

They have an outstanding brunch, all the food is high quality, delicious, and prepared with love and dedication. And yes, they have the best coffee on the island! All the people are very nice and smile at you at any time. We really enjoyed our stay there and had a good time! I definitely can recommend the place! And I would go back there for sure.

Just some recommendations for improvement: The bathroom is very fancy but a bit unpractical, I would definitely put a shower curtain to avoid having all the water all over the floor after showering. Furthermore,I would put more towel hangers (not above the toilet) and some shelves to have more space for your stuff. The private beach and sun beds are not directly at the accommodation. You need to walk 10-15 min there. We didn't care so much, as we had a motorbike and we did not go to the beach for sunbathing, but maybe be a bit more precise in the description. We had a cleaning incident the first evening we arrived, which has been dealt with correctly. All in all, it's a very nice place, and I would definitely stay there again!

I really loved everything about Bara Bara Eat&Sleep. The atmosphere was relaxed and calm. The wifi must be good, because I have seen people working there on their laptop everyday. The room was small but nice and tidy. It had a toilet and a shower, AC and fan. During the day you have the café where you can hang out, drink a coffee and watch the streetlife of the main road. The coffee is really good by the way, as is everything that's on the menue. The breakfast was out of this world, I never had anything that compares in a hotel. Thanks to the amazing chef! All the staff from reception to cleaning was super friendly, they also helped me when my phone broke and in general fulfilled all my wishes (like having an earlier breakfast as I had to leave in the morning for a daytrip). They made sure I was welcomed when I arrived later at night as anticipated. So: Asante sana to all the amazing people from BaraBara! I will be back :)

There are not enough nice words to describe our love for BaraBara. After feeling underwhelmed by a week in Nungwi, we arrived here and the trip was totally transformed. Starting with our first delicious iced coffee. Then every dish on the wonderful menu. Followed by lazy days at the beach which is just down the road. The rooms are always cool, clean and comfortable and the ladies that cleaned for us are so friendly and kind. The owner and all of the staff are so helpful and friendly and make everybody feel so welcome. Not to mention the cats and the little Monkey who pops in from time to time! The breakfast offering is incredible value for money and there wasn’t anything on the menu that we didn’t enjoy. Especially the delicious pizzas. We will be back next year and thank you all so much ♥️

The property is super eco friendly! They provide reusable water bottles to avoid single use plastics. BRILLIANT!

The electricity being cut off with no communication from the manager as to why or when it would return. Also the cats everywhere. I don’t like cats at all (incredibly allergic) and I especially don’t like them near where food is being prepared and served

Breakfast was 12/10 Location and facilities were perfect Staff were very friendly and informative. I had a very pleasant stay and would definitely come again! I felt incredibly safe as a solo female traveller

New, chic & hip eco-boutique hotel. We were among the first guests and some rooms are still being finished. The owner and her team is very pleasant and professional. You also get an amazing breakfast deal from their cafe (a rooftop deck) where you have a very delicious selection of brunch items, fruit smoothies, and amazing coffee (which is very hard to come by in Zanzibar). The rooms are of good size and tastefully decorated with a mix of new and recycled materials. The bed was very comfy and there was an aircon, a desk, and enough place to put all your stuff around. The property is within a 5-minute walk from the main Paje beach and they have a small spot where you can come and stay at the sunbeds for free.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic! First of all it offers a very good value for your money. Everything is brand new and very beautifully designed. The rooms are very clean and spacious. There is good WiFi and airconditioning. It is next to the main street and 5-10min walk from the beach. Secondly the staff is so kind and attentive and really do everything to make your stay the most comfortable and pleasant. And last but definitely not least the hotel serves you the best breaksfast ever! You can choose it a la carte and it is outstanding. The dishes are unique, beautiful presented and one by one delicious!

The breakfast and food in general was absolutely amazing! Fresh fruit, healthy tasty dishes and great coffee. I tried a new dish every morning and loved them all!! Staff was super friendly and helpful. Ahmed drove us around to our different activities and he was super attentive and always on time. Rooms are great - clean and functional. In spite of the hotel being on the main road, there was no noise in the rooms at all.

Only thing I missed was a swimming pool and maybe a small garden where you can sit outside :-)

The hotel also provides complementary sun beds on the beach, which is just a 5-minute walk away, making it super convenient for relaxing by the sea. The rooms were cozy and comfortable, and the staff was incredibly attentive. They went above and beyond to make our stay special, even helping us organize a taxi to our next destination. We accidentally left our sunglasses in the taxi, and the staff kindly arranged to have them returned to us. This hotel offers great value for money, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay!
