- very good deal for the price - We found the most nice receptionist (sadly we don’t know her name, but she worked on 5th of September afternoon/evening). She made everything possible to help us out to find a way to go to Alishan when we could not get train tickets in advance. In the end, she even draw us a map where to find a bus, given the train station layout is quite weird and google maps recommends to go all the way around it, while you can cross the train station - complete breakfast, that also changes each day. We really liked the orange juice - The bed was super comfortable and big - We could park in front of the hotel, but there are only a few spots available. However, they also support you with parking somewhere else - Clean the room each day

- the fridge was a bit loud - not so many good food options around

The room was big, complete with a large table to place your items, have a 2 seater sofa and small couch for seating, table for unpacking 2 luggages, a decent clothes rack and 2 big size beds to accommodate 3 adults and 2 children. The included breakfast has a decent local food variety and they are kind enough to provide us take away boxes for us as we are running early to catch our timetable around Chiayi.

The hotel location was within 15 mins walking distance of Chiayi station but it is on the rear side of Chiayi station. Unfortunately the rear area of the Chiayi station is very quiet and has less businesses for tourists. The bathroom might benefit with a shower screen since they have a bathtub with a top shower.

The staff were very helpful. They helped us book a taxi. The food was served buffet style and delicious. Rooms were clean and spacious ( by Taipei standards.)

Just maybe the smell of gas/exhaust/smoke ?. We stayed on the 6th floor and left the window open in the bathroom. It's probably from outside. It's quite a distance from the bus station so it's best if you don't have really heavy luggage like I did

Large, clean and quiet room. I was given 2 bananas when checking in. Very good breakfast buffet. I could leave my bags for 2 days when doing a trip to Alishan National Park.

I had to rearrange my schedule due to bad weather and had mistakenly forgotten to cancel this hotel on time. I requested a free cancelation even though I was past the 3 days free cancelation period. The hotel wouldn't grant me this request. So I stayed there for the night.q

River hotel was welcoming, clean, comfortable bed, and had a wonderful breakfast. It had a wonderful old Taiwan charm with big smiles worn by all workers. I highly recommend.

There was a big 5.5 earthquake while we were in the hotel. That was scary. The hotel withstood the rocking motion very well!

The staff, all of them were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple but delicious.

Lack of power outlet so making charging mobile phones a bit difficult. The room has a strong smell of cigarette.

Location is good, the hotel staffs are friendly and helpful, the room is clean and spacious. In this price range, this is the best option when you are travelling JiaYi.

Location is about 10 mins walk to the train station. Room is very clean. Receptionists are very friendly and kind.

Staff were very friendly - greeted us every time we came in through the doors and pointed us to some spots around the city that we should visit. Room was huge, although a little run down. Breakfast options were limited and quality was not so great, but overall, had a great stay.

The place is a little run down, design is like from the 80s.
