The room / suite exceeded expectations. Very comfy bed, and sofabed. Really lovely rooms. Wonderful reception of our pampered pooch....and the dining area in pub was warm, welcome and delish. Arrived on cold night, warmed immediately by staff and pub.Breakfast just what Dr ordered...and sausage enjoyed immensely by ppooch....who had been befriended by others! Location fantaztic, with interesting shops a stone's throw, and Rye main thoroughfare an amble away. I can truly recommend this Inn... without reservation( !). Especially if you are a dog lover / owner . Staff very friendly and helpful...and even offered us coffees (free) while we were waiting by the fire ....☺️

A nice enough stay...room clean ...fresh bottled water replaced daily. Inexpensive for the location.
Staff were welcoming but we wished they'd mentioned that the pub closes at 8 on a Sunday ...we checked in late Sunday afternoon and were surprised it was all shut up when we came back from a walk. Also I just wish there were clearer instructions about parking....Best to go to the Rope Street car park...£3 for 24 hours. A bit further to walk but better than the nearest one (The Strand) which we found tricky to park in, more expensive and short stay. It was very hot when we stayed....there is air conditioning but it was dusty, noisy and not very effective ....restricted window opening. Difficult to sleep.

Good location, good breakfast. Breakfast waiter trying hard on what was evidently his first morning, but the poor man could have done with a bit more guidance.
Very small room lacking in furniture. Just one bedside table, though there was enough space for a second one the same size. No seats (would have to be stools as the room is so small). Poor for the price we paid. If 5% of the price we paid for one night were to be spent on furniture it would make a huge difference.

We liked nearly everything! The Room was cute and comfy, in a great location, and the drinks/food from the bar was very good. Glad they had a vegetarian/vegan options. Staff was accommodating to our large group.
Our room didn't have a mini fridge, which we only realized *after* purchasing some groceries for our stay. I've never stayed somewhere that didnt have a mini fridge and didnt even think to look. Luckily we were only at the ship inn for 1 of our 4 nights in Rye so it was only an issue for that first night.

first impressions walking into the pub were great, it's very cosy and welcoming, we had a friendly check in, the room was fine for the night, the bed was very comfortable, water and tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer and fluffy towels provided
if I have to be picky, and being an Interior Designer I would have to say the decor and bathroom could have done with a refresh the breakfast was good, my husband had the full English which he enjoyed, I chose the poached eggs and smashed avocado, unfortunately it didn't come out smashed and with chili like it had been advertised on the menu, just a full avocado sliced with the egg but that's all I can really grumble about Rye itself is a little gem

We had a wonderful stay at the Ship Inn. It's a fabulous B&B right in the heart of Rye. The room was super clean and well decorated, and the bed was super large and comfortable. Despite its location next to the road (as with many guest houses in Rye) it was very quiet due to the secondary glazing, which kept noise to a minimum. The staff were friendly and efficient. Best of all for us, it is dog friendly and the management even provided a doggy treat box in the room. The breakfast was really good and plentiful. Can't recommend enough!
Nothing all was very good/excellent.

Friendly and welcoming staff, the room was clean and comfortable. The only issue was that it became a bit hot during the night even when the heating off and the window cracked. It must have been all the surrounding rooms which had their heating on. Definitely not anything that should put anybody off! The dinner was great and the Inn is cozy this time of the year! The location is great seeing how as soon as you get out you're at the bottom of the famous Mermaid Street.

The building was stunning and the room was very comfortable and a perfect place to retire to at the end of the day. The bathroom was a very good size with beautifully scented soaps, shampoo and conditioner, according to my wife.
The room was too hot even with the air conditioning on and window wide open, but that cannot be legislated for, as it was the time of year The brochure in the room was great advertising for your company but didn't tell us anything about Rye or the surrounding area, which would have been good or a menu of the food and drinks available in the bar / restaurant.

I’ve been a customer at The Ship for some years. I’ve enjoyed a pint by an open fire in winter and listened to live music outside during the jazz festival. I remember having the best fish and chips here too. However, this year I was lucky to be able to stay for a night. The staff were so accommodating as my friend who travelled with me brought her young but large dog along. We brought his cage and we needed help carrying it up the stairs.. and back down again the next day and they were so helpful. I’m a poor sleeper but had a full night’s sleep here .. a most comfortable bed.
Nothing.. it was all good

The Ship Inn is in a quiet location on the edge of town, just a short walk to all the services and attractions Rye has to offer. Staff could not have done more for us, they were welcoming, knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Our room was beautifully decorated and we had all we needed for a 1-night stay. The bed was super comfy, with very comfortable pillows and well supplied drinks and toiletries. The room cosy and relaxing, everywhere was spotlessly clean. The pub sells local produce which we really liked, we had locally caught fish and chips for our evening meal which was delicious and we tried some of the local wine from the local Balfour Winery. The staff were extremely knowledgeable regarding the local wines and beers and helped us to make some excellent choices.
There was a lot of stairs to our room, so be aware if you have limited mobility. The staff helped us to our room and carried our case, which was very kind of them. Nothing was too much trouble,
