Loved the homey comfortable vibe and the feeling of family and community that comes with staying in a place with communal cooking and hang out areas etc .. met some wonderful people and the location and facilities were top notch!!! Will definitely return to not only lo de Marcos but hosteria chata again in the future... Love ya, and miss ya already!!! 🥰❤️🥰

Our only issues were that our particular bed was very firm and so we had some stiff necks and sore hips ... That has more to do with our age and preferences than it does the hotel itself... Also, the noise from barking dogs, and fighting cats out in the streets made for a few restless nights, but again, this is outside of the hotels control and I recognize that... If this is a concern for you, I would recommend booking one of the rooms on the other side of the courtyard... Much quieter over there .. 😘❤️🥰

Great location, close to beach and shops in town. We were greeted by friendly hosts, who were very helpful with questions and responded quickly to our requests. We met interesting travellers and felt very safe during our stay. The inner courtyard is peaceful and there is a large communal kitchen.

Better signage outside the hosteria would help to identify the place. Construction workers helped us find it.

The staff was totally nice and spoke good English… The grounds are beautiful and they are so close to the beach and all the fine restaurants around

A slight chicken problem…. What can you say but these chickens were extremely boisterous at about 6:45 in the morning

The location was great in that the hostel is so close to the beach and the town square.The area near the pool was a good place to relax and meet people.

The roosters next door woke up too early😆 and that bothered my daughter's sleep.

So close to the beach and one of the best coffee shops - Lo De Cafe!! The common area is beautiful and it feels very safe. I loved laying by the pool and cuddling with the hostel cats. All of the staff and guests were very friendly, most speak very good English.

There was construction in the hostel going on during my stay which made it very noisy, smelling of strong paint, and without use of one of the three bathrooms and the main kitchen. The bathroom in my section of the hostel was a bit gnarly.

Our first booking was cancelled by the owner and this was recommended. For the price it was perfect. It was really near by the beach,so that was for sure a plus. The people who worked there where very helpful and kind.

Ofcourse this way of staying, not having a n own bathroom, and a shared kitchen, you really have to like it. The area was smaller then I thought. Oh and we missed a propper place to hang clothes in the bedroom. I think that our room would be more for younger people. For us it was more an emergency place, sinds our first booking was cancelled.

Good cooking area and storage for food. Clean kitchen, quiet guest, nice sitting areas. Beautiful brick building.

The room and shower was clean enough, but not very clean.

I stayed in the female dorm with shared bathroom. There were two bathrooms. One shower was cold, the other was hot. There is a really nice pool next to a cute little garden. The outdoor communal kitchen was clean, spacious and well equipped with a large table and a space conducive to connecting with other travelers. The overall vibe of the space was chill and it is a very short walk to the beach. Pedro, the manager, was welcoming and hospitable. One of the best places I stayed on my entire trip.

Everything was great, except for one thing. I was jolted awake at 3am by a loud group of people in the communal kitchen blasting music at earsplitting volume. I ended up going downstairs after awhile to ask them to please turn it down. My suggestion for the hotel would be to post quiet hours such as 10pm-8am to motivate people to be more considerate of those who are sleeping at night.

The place was charming and had an old Mexican feel. Everyone was very friendly. Two large kitchens made it feel spacious. And a nice pool to relax by

There was a loud buzzing at night from a generator or fridge that made it hard to fall asleep. Also loud roosters right next door that will wake you up early in the morning

I loved the location situated between the beach and the main plaza. There were two places to buy a freshly brewed morning coffee!
