This was a little gem! The room was just right for our family with little touches of luxury in the jacuzzi bath. The hostess was lovely and chatty. We were the only ones there after a wedding so it felt like really personal service.

It is a little tucked away and our sat nav took us into a shopping mall car park to get there. At first glance we were worried that it was shut but as soon as the gates opened it was an amazing experience.

The venue and hospitality is excellent. The chateau is a good 10 to 15 minutes drive from anything else but is so peaceful with the peacocks the most likely thing to disturb your reverie. The hosts could not be more friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and there is an outdoor pool for guest's use and they will also open the bar and pizza oven if the weather is favourable so one can enjoy a peaceful evening without leaving the grounds. The continental breakfast is good and you can help yourself to the use of the coffee machine at any time. This is a stay and experience not to be missed. We would definitely return if in the area.

An unusual experience staying in the rooms surrounding the Chateau. The rooms were large, comfortable and charming.

Google Maps takes you down a dirt track, not the main road. Owner has tried to change it. Recommend go to Les-Ponts-de-Ce and look on the map to take the direct road. Do not let that put you off.

This is the perfect spot to sit and relax. Having been on the bicycle for 7 weeks and 1500mi, Chateau de Belle Poule was perfect to relax, watch the sunset with a glass of wine and watch the sunrise with a coffee. Everything was thought of by the hosts. Very clean, spacious, and we really enjoyed the mid-1800's buildings. Covered bicycle storage inside the gated complex was provided.

Excellent accommodation in the countryside. . Our bedroom was situated in a quaint outbuilding, in the chateau grounds. The room was clean and comfortable. A basic breakfast was included in the price, with tea/coffee facilities available at any time. Suited our needs for visiting the area nearby.

Better room lighting for reading. A full-length mirror would be useful.

Used one night as an overnight stay whilst travelling through. Delayed ferry meant we arrived three hours after latest check-in. Communication with the owner and a key was left for our arrival. Sterling customer service!

Lovely unique building, lovely pool.

Not quite what I expected and very far from shops, sadly our host was not feeling well so no dinner at the property. My brother and I then walked to the nearest restaurant, an American grill.

Beautiful location. Our room was huge with a large bed and crisp white bed linen. The host was lovely and spoke good English.

Maybe the provision of tea and coffee in the room.

Authenticity and beautiful restoration. A lot of character and plenty of comfort. The hosts are ever so friendly. Super secure behind the high gates. Great place to stop if you’re on a road trip in a classic sports car for example.

The surprise of the very modern pool and the bar. The breakfast is amazing.

We were travelling from Normandy to Ile de Re towing a trailer and we needed secure parking. The location of the chateau was perfect for us and as the chateau is behind closed gates we had no worries about leaving the trailer unattended while we were in the local town having dinner. Catherine was very welcoming and suggested several places to eat that evening, we ended up in an open-air cafe/bar in the local park with views over the river. The bedrooms are spacious with a very comfortable bed and a spotless bathroom. We had a very nice continental breakfast. We would certainly return to stay again.
