The location was unbelievable! The ocean rolled right to our doorstep (almost). Being up on the bluff you can see the whole island and we were able to watch sunset from our cozy sitting room. The room was well stocked with beverages and small cooktop and sink. Perfect for us. There was a small cove across the street that was secluded and the rocks protected the cove from big waves. It's a short walk to the on island restaurants and the beach. Suzanne was friendly and informative. We had a wonderful time on our last weekend in Portugal. Highly recommend Casa das Mares 2.

There wasn't any place on island to get beach blankets or umbrellas so if you need them get them on the other side of the causeway or in Peniche.

Clean, quiet and well equipped. The Casa das meres is a very nice old house that has been renovated and exudes an old Portuguese charm. The roof terrace is facing west, super beautiful sunsets. Everyone wants to see the view of the rocks and sunsets, here it is from the apartment. We had a question and were treated very friendly and nice. The cleaning takes place every day, so the sand is not a big problem. Highly recommendable

It is an old architecture, means low corridors and stairs, the apartments are OK.

The location is amazing! we had the room with the view, which was priceless! At night you can hear the waves - which is very relaxing. The room itself is very cozy, great attention to details. It was also very clean and had lots of space. We arrived by car and could easily find the parking lot. But this is February - probably not the busies season.

Since it is February the room was quite cold due to the absence of the heating. There are a lot of wool blankets available though. So if you like to sleep with the fresh air - then this is not a minus :) Also there was no hair dryer in our room, so before washing your hair - worth checking.

Okay! Location is top notch! I have never stayed in a place with a view like that! Amazing!

We stayed in early January, so it was cold! Our rooms didn’t have a central heating system (so no AC either). So the first night we all got cold. We were traveling with a baby … so the first nights was rough for us. The second night we took a portable heater into our room while other people traveling with us didn’t have one. With a heater it was finally cozy. The building is old. Don’t expect new modern rooms. The fridge need’s maintenance. It had a extremely bad smell coming out of it.

The room had an close, excellent view to the west of waves crashing against the rocky shoreline. To the east and early in the morning we saw several small fishing boats drawn up on the sand with fishermen pulling fish from their nets- a picturesque scene. The apartment was two bedroom, wonderfully clean, and quiet aside from the hypnotic music of waves hitting the shore. We highly recommend several days of relaxation at this superb site.

There was nothing unlikeable about Casa das Marés 2. On the contrary, it was beautiful in all aspects.

Cozy room with separate bedroom (room divider) and tiny bathroom, sink toilet and shower on one square meter but functional - all very clean and serviced every day (did not expect that) The view is amazing directly out to the ocean. The lady checking us in was very friendly.

the Bed was too hard for us. The fabrik of the clothes is damp quickly and there is hardly any possibility to dry wet clothes. it is a challenge to cook in the tiny kitchen, one of the heatplates was not functioning well.

Beautiful surroundings, located at the end of the Baleal peninsula. We had a nice apartment on the first floor, facing the bay (Baleal Norte), with a sofa bed in the living for the kids.

The top end of the sofa bed was hard. Only because the kids were short this wasn’t too much of a problem. The building is pretty in a way, facing the front; but the back not so much and it turns out to be three buildings in one (Casa das Mares 1, 2 and 3).

The view from our apartment cannot be beat. So gorgeous! And the sound of the roaring waves at night was absolutely incredible. The apartment is nicely furnished and attractive. I loved that Maria provided shampoo and hand soap. We got to enjoy the view over the rocky beach, walk out along the spit and enjoy the long stretch of sandy Beach nearby. Lots of great food options near by too.

My only complaint is the bed was very firm and I could actually feel the outline of each spring. The other reviews that mentioned the beds being awful weren't lying. For one night, it was fine and the view/location was worth it. But if staying more than one night, I really hope they update their mattresses.

Stunning! Our room was on the first floor facing the ocean (Berlenga and Peniche). The view and location are spectacular. The room in itself is perfect too: well decorated and equipped, very comfortable. Lovely warm welcome from Maria. I highly recommend this hotel.

The bed was slightly squeaky. We could hear the noise from the corridor in our room. But apart from these small details, absolutely perfect.

The location and view from our room was magnificent! A short walk to the beach and cafes while still maintaining a quiet, isolated feel. We loved our stay here and the town of Peniche was wonderful. Kind friendly, hard working people, that went out of their way to help us when needed! We will absolutely go back and it will be for a much longer stay! 5 stars all around ⭐️
