Ruth was so welcoming & friendly & has a truly beautiful home that is spotlessly clean & comfortable. Our room was huge! The usual tea & coffee facilities were in our room but the homemade Welsh cakes were a lovely touch & so nice that I asked for the recipe! Breakfast was the full Welsh for both me & my husband, using locally sourced ingredients & delicious homemade marmalade and there were other options available too. It didn't disappoint and we felt totally relaxed to take as long as we wanted to eat our food. The location of The Old Stores is really lovely for a mini break, we stayed here for a wedding 15 minutes away, but spent the following day exploring Montgomery, it's castle & also had a walk up to the War Memorial for the superb 360 degree view that Ruth told us about!

Nothing, it was perfect!

The house is Georgian and Ruth has decorated it and designed the spaces, with such style, my friend Janet and I were exhilarated. Montgomery is a lovely ‘town’ and the house is situated in the centre( it’s only the size of a village). Ruth was very helpful with information about Montgomery and advised us very well, on places to visit on the journey back. We feel were so lucky to have stayed there.

Excellent breakfast, eg pancakes with fresh fruit, smashed avocado with poached egg on toast or full Welsh served on fine Wedgwood China. Beautiful bedroom and huge bathroom with excellent shower and a separate bath. No TV in the bedroom but in a separate sitting room if required. Fresh milk provided for the bedroom.

Absolutely outstanding B&B. Gorgeous house, tastefully furnished (and the bed linen is perfect, mattress perfect!). Exceptionally clean and beautifully maintained. Best breakfast we've had since we last stayed at the Goring in London - presented with genuine care and respect with nothing out of place. We only stayed one night and we regret not booking two! Will bring our walking shoes next time ...

We loved our stay in beautiful Montgomery and The Old Stores. The host was very welcoming and friendly. We were made to feel at home. Beautiful, large room with comfortable bed. Very clean and tidy. Wonderful bathroom with both shower and bath. Powerful water pressure. Excellent breakfast. Would happily stay again.

Great location in a very quiet, but fascinating location. The host was very engaging, the venue was superb. The location is a great base for day trips in the surrounding area, with a lot of history to learn about in some of the prettiest countryside in the country. The accommodation is absolutely top notch notch.

A really lovely property and right in the centre of Montgomery. The room and ensuite were at an excellent standard. The owner was lovely and really looked after us. Breakfast was lovely and we were able to move to a lovely courtyard to enjoy the weather. A really lovely stay.

The property is right in the centre of Montgomery, a small town with a Georgian ambience. Although there is no dedicated parking, we never had a problem finding on-street spaces. Staying in Old Stores felt more like staying in a friend's house - a friend, moreover, with excellent taste in antique furniture and interesting books. Our hostess could not have been more friendly and attentive. Her breakfast options and presentation were exceptionally good.

There was nothing about our stay one could possibly find fault with.
