The Location was ideal AND the grounds AND facilites were new and clean. Very well kept. The staff was very friendly. The owner, Miss Linda, lived onsite and was very approachable and friendly. She allowed us for early Check-In, since it was a weekday. Miss Olivia, Receptionist/Front Desk, also very helpful and great customer service. Sunsets were Breathtaking!! Worth The Stay Just for That!!

Could have had more lounge chairs on the dock to watch Sunset and also more lounge chairs to lay out at the little beach. I thought beach would be bigger. Paddle boards were ok. Didn't use snorkeling equipment. Pool area was clean and recently painted.

Everything! We were pleasantly surprised by this property. The location was superb and we saw a very nice sunset right from the very picturesque pier that extended out to the water. The grounds were nicely manicured and there was even a nice bonsai garden. The swimming pool was awesome and very nicely done. We decided to upgrade our room to a King Superior (#22) which was also on the second floor and offered a view of the water as a result. We were blown away by this room as it was HUGE (over 700 sq. ft.) and also had a large screened-in porch. The owner, Linda, was very nice as was everyone working there that we encountered. Alisha at the front desk was awesome and very cheery and pleasant throughout our stay. The free use of kayaks was also a nice bonus even though we didn't get a chance to use them. The free roaming Iguanas also added a nice tropical touch and were fun to watch!

The appearance of the front entrance was a bit of a turn-off when we first arrived in the parking lot but our view quickly changed once we went to the back of the property and saw how beautiful it was. They are also in the process of fully renovating several rooms and I'm sure that the front entrance will be included as well at some point. Other than that, I can't think of anything that we didn't like.

Easy to find convenient location. It has its own pool area as well as a small beach and sunset pier. Well kept with good amenities in the room- fridge/microwave. Could go into the reception if you ran out of anything (loo rolls/tissues/cups etc) as house keeping will only go in every 3 days. Provided beach towels.

Everything good. A little concerned about the suspect email received before the stay (many times) requiring additional information and card details but was reassured to ignore by the property.

We decided to take a weekend trip to the Keys on a whim and were doing so on a tight budget. We decided staying in Key Largo offered the best value and choose Rock Reef Resort strictly by other reviews. The room far exceeded our expectations and was very clean and wonderfully comfortable and appointed. We got in late so we were shocked the next morning when we decided to take a look out back and found the wonderful amenities and landscaping. Pool, boat ramp, free kayaks, hammocks, Tiki gazebo on the dock and wonderful views out across the gulf. We will definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises.

The door locks did use old fashioned key locks and were a bit fiddly to get to work right. They had just recently been replaced and were just a little stiff.

Enjoyed the hotel being on the bay. We spent time enjoying the view of the water and the breeze. It would be the perfect spot to watch the sunset if we had scheduled it in our plans. We couldn't beat the price. This is the 2nd time we've stayed here. Absolutely recommend The Rock Reef near restaurants and entertainment. and Grocery stores.

Arrived at 3:00pm and I room wasn't ready. It took them 1 hour to have it ready. It was clean and up to date can't complain about that. If you need it really quiet to sleep don't get the "city" view!! You can hear the traffic in the morning.

Quick and friendky check-in. Helpful on-site staff. Good standard of cleanliness. Fabulous waterfront view and nice sun and sea-bathing area.

Smell - strong and unpleasant 'air freshener' aroma left me wondering what smell it was attempting to mask! Window blinds - none correctly sized or fitting in the main sitting room, which compromised privacy after sunset with our interior lights on There were a number of small things which, if mentioned in isolation, would make me appear petty to any reader (which I'm not) but taken together with the two points above, really made me feel I had paid 4☆ prices for 3☆ accommodation - hence the low value for money rating..

Rock Reef was a quick one night stay, to allow us to Scuba in the morning before heading to Miami. We did not arrive until 9pm, but staff had made arrangements to leave us a key, so we got right into our room. The next morning, we just dropped the key in a box and left - easiest check in and out ever, never actually saw a person. The room was about twice the size of a hotel room, with updated bathroom, Roku on the TV, and comfortable bedding. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was, especially for such a good price.

The check-in person was very friendly and welcoming, providing tips for enjoying our stay and showing us around. Our room was the one closest to the water, with a big front porch and incredible view. The room was very quiet, with a kitchen and living room. Watching the sunset was a popular event for many of the guests, along with sea kayaking in the smooth water.

The mosquitos, although bug spray took care of them. I really can't think of anything negative. The kitchen had limited supplies, so it may be difficult to cook a full dinner, but it was certainly sufficient for our needs.

The resort is amazing. Our apartment was very big and comfy, with everything that we might have needed, including cuttlery, plates, coffee machine, etc. Everything was spotless when we arrived. The personal was very helpful and friendly. They have a nice pool in the middle and a very nice pier with an amazing view and the possibility to swim in the bay and see the sunset. We even saw dolphins! The whole resort is very cute, including the bonsai collection <3 They don't have a bar but they sell water and soft drinks and there's a gas station right in front where you can buy a couple of beers to enjoy the sunset even more.

The location of the Rock Reef Resort was ideal for our excursions. The staff was very accomodating our request for laundry service. The pool facilities were very nice for a little dip in the afternoon and we were able to move around the umbrella to remain shaded. Very happy that we were located on the ground floor and did not have to go up and down stairs.

The facility was a little dated without any food or beverage service. Room cleaning was not daily. The staff did replenish any towels or anything else quickly via a service bin.
