The friendly staff, and ease of check in and check out.

There was no disclosure about the resort being in the middle of remodeling. Not that it was a really big deal, however one of the restaurants did not have inside dinning. The overall appearance was hindered by the blue tarps hiding the buildings being worked on.

Keeping to the Keys roots, I like how half the beach was left alone, and the other half was modernized, but extremely tastefully done so. It still had a nice island original feel without feeling like it was being overtaken by capitalist-tourism. It was very well designed - nicely spaced, and very niche accents making each area feel like a personal relaxation spot. It was excellent to have a variety of different seating areas by the water all with different shade options. And smart choice planting a bunch of coconut trees. Seriously, excellent job designing the update. It felt more like a genuine upgrade keeping to our village roots rather than an overwhelming overhaul. The room was perfect. The privacy on the patio was perfect. The pathways with the sand all around was perfect. It absolutely encompasses true island life, but in a resort-style. The landscaping perfect. The staff are excellent. They respect the guests in allowing them to enjoy their stay in a carefree way - not cracking down on rules or “dos and don’ts” like other stuffy resorts/getaways - so long as guests do not disturb other guests. This is true island life, and if the island vibe is maintained at the resort, then the guests will pick up on it and stay chill versus becoming too rowdy - which further allows staff to relax. Excellent choice having cafecitos in the room versus a standard coffee maker. The robes are a nice touch. The sports areas look excellent - unfortunately did not get to participate this time, but all of the choices laid out are excellent - bike riding, kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, basketball, mini golf (I see what you did there, cheeca), volleyball, and bocce, all good choices. Oh, and the fishing pier was great as always. I’d recommend fixing whatever the reason is for, “risk for electrocution,” for swimming by the pier… Maybe an option for going out to Alligator Reef? Good choice having outside events like the astronomers bringing the telescope.

The restaurant was insanely overpriced, and the waitress had to handle a handful of tables, making her rush service. Not a pleasant experience, especially for how overpriced the food was… and the food quality/portions did not live up to the price. Also, we are in the Keys… Islamorada. The Village of villages. Please keep that vibe. I understand trying to appeal to the certain guests with the music choices - (and beyond just a song selection, - a whole morning/afternoon) does not keep to the “Island”-er vibe. Respectfully noting.

The updates were very nice. There’s lots of space and lots of activities for kids as well as adults. It was a very nice touch to sell shrimp for the kids to fish so we didn’t have to go offsite. They even had fishing poles. Kids were busy all the time.

They need to do something about all the seaweed. It smells very bad. It prohibits anyone from going on the small Beach they have. Housekeeping took out did a good job, but it took them forever to get there. By the time they would come each day, we were trying to take showers and get ready for dinner. They definitely need more people in housekeeping so that the rooms can be cleaned at a decent time. Of course the day we check out they are banging out the door at 8 AM and checkout is not until 11am. That was really annoying. Also, it would be nice to have room service if available even if it’s a limited menu.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel! The entire property has recently been renovated, and it shows; everything is modern, spotless, and thoughtfully designed. One of the highlights was being able to park right in front of our room, which looked exactly like the photos online (a rare find these days!). Walking through the room, you step out onto a private back porch with a phenomenal view—perfect for a morning coffee or relaxing evening. The property itself is expansive, with tons of things to do: kayaking, paddle boarding, mini golf, and more. There’s sand throughout the grounds, which adds to the beachy, relaxed vibe. Whether you want to sit by the pool, lounge near the water, or explore the activities, there’s something for everyone. The restaurant on-site was also great, offering delicious food in a casual, welcoming atmosphere. Every staff member we encountered was kind, professional, and eager to help. This was truly a perfect weekend getaway, and we’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

The location of the Islander Resort was convenient to alot of the local amenities. Sara at the front desk was amazing and assisted us with our stay by answering our questions and assisting with our concerns. Furthermore, the room itself exceeded our expectations and was clean. In addition, the back patio was a bonus.

One of the small complaints I would have is the EV charging station on site was hit and miss. They did send out a tech to address the EV station being down and was able to utilize one of them during the stay. Other than that no major issues.

This was my 2nd trip there over the MLK weekend. The weather cooperated and there were plenty of beach/pool chairs. I really like that they added outdoor dining. Only had their breakfast. Reasonably priced. The front desk was extremely helpful, especially Sara. I ended up leaving clothes in the closet and she was so helpful in arranging their return. The location of the resort is centrally located to most of the restaurants I enjoy.

The outdoor bar is great, but not a place to take in a game on the TVs. The lighting blocks your view from almost all chairs. I get it that it’s a beach bar and you’re there for the ambiance, but I found myself going to other places for the NFL playoffs and college naty. Would have preferred to have my nite cap at my resort.

Beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable room with lovely outdoor seating area. The resort rooms were just redone and even smelled brand new. The decor and finishing touches are so pretty. The property is beautifully landscaped and you really feel transported to a Caribbean island. I don't know if I liked the scenery more by day or when it was perfectly lit at night. Scattered throughout the resort are so many cozy places to sit and read a book, take in the view or sit by the fire. The vibe is very chill at the resort and the staff is friendly and accommodating. No getting up early to fight over getting a lounge chair or having to give your room # to get a towel. We enjoyed taking out kayaks and signed up for the snorkling trip which conveniently leaves right from the hotel dock - amazing colorful fish & stingrays spotted. I hesitated to write this review and I feel like this place will only continue to get more more crowded as it is discovered. I think when phase 3 is completed this place will be spectacular.

I will say the one spot they sacrificed form over function in the room was the bathroom/sink area. There is virtually no place to put toiletries/toothbrush and to comfortably put on your makeup or do your hair. They need to think of some additional shelving. Also, the only area of service that lacked was the bar. They definitely need more than 1 bartender at night.

Great service & staff. They go above and beyond to ensure you are well taken care of. Great amenities, great food & great location. They have a shuttle service to take you to places near the hotel that runs 24/7. Very family friendly vibe. Beautiful property.

Doesn’t have a true beach. It has access to the water but definitely not a beach setting. The property has sand on it & it looks very Tulum. They do have 2 pools. So if you thinking you’re going to relax on a beach - you’re not. It’s still an overall nice & beautiful property.

The property is beautiful. It feels like you are on a tropical island. You can really immerse yourself into your vacation at the islander. This is our second time staying here. We will definitely be back. The rooms are exceptionally clean. The housekeeping was great. Every staff member we came in contact with was helpful, kind, and welcoming. The staff can make or break a good vacation experience. The staff at the islander definitely make your vacation better.

They have construction going on at the property now. It will be beautiful once it’s done. However listening to a jackhammer and looking at fencing everywhere did taint the ambience of our relaxing vacation.
