I echo what the vast majority of positive reviewers have said about Island Bay Resort. This is a really well run, well maintained, and attractive location. It has its own private sandy beach, nice comfortable porch decks on each unit, facilities (such as washers, dryers, outdoor showers) to help out with all your needs, Easy access to nearby restaurants. We would most definitely book a stay here again next time in the Keys, and would certainly recommend it highly to anyone thinking of staying here.

Absolutely nothing. Met all of our expectations and more.

I took my wife here for our 30th anniversary. First off, let me say we are not newbies to staying at places. I did not want your "typical hotel vibe." My wife absolutely loved it! Everything is top-notch. The decks are composite, and the beach lounge chairs are composite (very heavy). The rooms were hand tailored to be special. Every little detail is amazing. There are extras they provide that are not in their amenities (i'll keep it a secret). Each deck has its own ash tray (for you cigar & cigarette lovers) and is surrounded by lush foilage for privacy and spaced perfectly away from each of the 10 rooms. Ours had two couches, a very comfy chair, kitchen, and a king bed. The privacy is exactly what we wanted. They even stagger the chairs on the beach (with ash trays & bug spray) for privacy. They have innertubes, snorkeling masks, kayaks, floating noodles, games in the sand, corn hole, bocce, etc... The staff are super nice, especially Lauren. The ambiance at night is absolutely gorgeous! They have flame lights, overhead hanging lights, tiki hut with calming waterfall, soft flame lights, just perfect for a romantic getaway. And the 3yr old upgraded driveway that just got sealed a yr ago is amazing with the flame lights at night. Along with the sunsets, because they're on the side it sets, are unbelievable with the driveway. It's like a postcard, really! As for the very few negative reviews, you're crazy! If you want a bar with $12 drinks each every night, then your average hotel is for you. You can have the pools filled with kids and people and your hot tub filled with people. Here, you walk out in the water and have instant warm tranquility with hardly anyone around (with your drink in hand!) Just a word of advice; Save $$$ and go to the liquor store & your favorite beverage of choice, mix them and put it in the coolers they provide, walk just yards down to the beach and enjoy.

Great place to stay for a relaxing few days break. The resort has kayaks, inflatables and paddleboards to use and make the most of the great location by the water. There are lots of local restaurants driving distance away. I would recommend driving to Key West or some of the other beeches further down as it is a stunning drive.

Everything! Our cottage was lovely. We loved sitting on our deck for a morning coffee. The private beach was perfect and free use of all the kayaks etc was great. It was also a great spot for the sunset. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Nothing - it was perfect!

Island Bay is absolutely gorgeous! No detail has been missed. As you walk down to the water’s edge you will see so many surprises. Perfectly placed shells beside one of the hammocks or a driftwood sculpture along the way. I stayed in the Bridges suite. It was spotlessly clean, modern and fabulous. There were hibiscus blooms tucked into the beach towels placed on the bed!

I loved everything

This property exceeded every expectation we could have possibly of had. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful with every little detail so well kept. Sue and Steve, the managers, go above and beyond for you in every way they can. The cottage we stayed in was incredible, from the comfort of the bed to the decor of the cottage. This place thinks of the smallest details. During our stay my boyfriend proposed to me on the private beach of the resort and Sue and Steve went above and beyond to even accommodate the proposal and make it incredibly magical for us. Even to the detail of phoning a dinner restaurant for us.

Absolutely NOTHING!

This little oasis is perfection! The super cute bungalows are super clean and comfortable with an airbnb-like feel. The grounds are emmaculately maintained. You could go barefoot the entire time if you wanted. The kitchenette has everything you need to make food for yourself and save some money. The property is private, so there's always plenty of room to lounge on a hammock, beach recliner, etc. There's also some fun games available like corn hole if you want. The location is easily accessible accessible to dining, kayaking, nature parks. This is a way different experience than key west. If you desire a relaxing and quiet experience, look no further.

That we only stayed 2 nights!

the property is amazing. nicely located so it isn't in the craziness of the keys. 1 hr to marathon. 2 hrs to key west. 5 minutes to islamorada. serene and beautiful property. grounds are kept impeccably. nothing is out of place. the cottage style setup offers privacy at a realistic cost. amenities are perfect. beach is beautiful. water entry is nice and private as well. the rooms were clean and the cleaning personnel were very thorough. the real star of the show here is the upkeep of the property is absolutely 100% perfect. the sunsets on the beach are beyond description.

had an issue with our room the last night we were there. with that being said the resort staff jumped right in our situation was addressed immediately. by immediately I mean 15 minutes later they were there and 30 minutes later our problem was addressed. I struggled with leaving this glowing review because I want to keep this place a secret but that would be very selfish of me and go against the keys island vibe.

I really love the small details in my room,starting with a beautiful fresh flower in my bed, everything was super clean, quite,peaceful. We really enjoyed the time there,just relaxing.I almost didn't book it cuz we are used to travel with our rv,so I was a little bit scared for us to book a room, but it feels like a little rv, you have your little kitchen,bathroom,chairs, little table. I book this place as a surprise for my husband and he loves it. Thank you Island Bay Resort,keep up the good work !
