Beautiful hotel in the central area of Jaffna Town. Well maintained clean rooms and toilet. Rooms are big, spacious and comes with tea making facility. Super friendly, warm, respectful and helpful staff. The staff went the extra mile to not only meet the needs of the customers but also to make sure they have a pleasant stay. For example, we reached the hotel after 8pm and the kitchen was about to close. As we were so tired and hungry, the chef and staff stayed behind to cook what we requested for and waited patiently till we finished our meals. On another occasion, my friend had a bad bout of food poisoning at around 12pm and the staff at the reception was quick to come our aid. We were so touched by their care. Excellent service provided by all the staff. Strongly recommended. As the hotel is near Nallur temple, this hotel only provides vegetarian food. They provide good vegetarian food.

The hotel is proudly "pure vegetarian" and the food at breakfast was just wonderful. A variety of curries and many accompaniments eg flat breads, string hoppers, rice etc. I would be a very happy vegetarian if I could eat food this tasty every day. The staff were exceptional and assisted with recommendations on places to visit, tuk tuks and arranging transport to our next destination. Jaffna was a fascinating place, I hope the train comes back on line soon so that more tourists can easily visit. As an example were allowed to use the hotel waahing machine as we didn't have time to get our laundry done outside

The bathrooms were showing their age and could do with a refurb.

The location is excellent for seeing the major temples. The gardens and pool are fantastic, but limited area around the pool to relax because of driveway / trees etc. Initially my room was a little tired and has some faults. I raised the issue and was given a different room which was excellent. The staff were very helpful, sorting out a long distance bus ticket for me and doing other small admin things with no complaints. Breakfast was very good Sri Lankan and fruit and toast. What ever the staff could do for you they would - great team.

The information on booking.com needs to show the hotels rules, ie its totally vegetarian and totally alcohol free in all public places, so a beer by the lovely pool is not possible. You have a fridge in your room and can bring and drink alcohol in there, but its a bit like being a secret drinker and not so comfortable. Better to inform before you book as the room was non refundable. This is not a rule of the hotel but the temple district - which I understand but didn't see on the booking description.

The staff were wonderful and looked after us very well. We booked the triple room which was very spacious and the seating area in the room was perfect to rest after a day of exploring. You can tell this place was built to last - the furniture is solid, great quality and well picked. The pool initially looked a bit exposed as it is by the entrance but we quickly got over this and the trees and walls surrounding the grassy area felt very private - it was a very calming and a beautiful environment with dragon flies flying overhead. It's location is ideal for visiting Nallur temple and is just the right distance from town to feel you've escaped the busy centre. We appreciated the commitment to keeping the whole place traditional, intimate and authentic which is why we picked this place over other 4-star options. The buffet breakfast was great with lots of options including traditional sri lankan cuisine, toast, fruit, tea and coffee.

Given the age of the building, there was some water damage to the bedroom and bathroom walls/ceiling and the shower had some wear and tear which was to be expected. Although the bathroom could do with an upgrade, the room itself was great. As with everywhere we've stayed in sri lanka, there were some ants in the bathroom and a couple in the bedroom - It seems this is unavoidable in this environment and they didn't cause too much trouble.

Having had a pleasant stay here for a week in late Dec. 2018, we never looked at any other accommodation when we finalized our five day trip to Jaffna in early January this year. When we arrived here I was a bit disappointed to see all new faces as I expected to see at least some of the old staff. However, it didn't take long before I realized that the new manager Wijey and his support staff are as good as the previous team. We found the new manager Wijey to be very helpful and always wanting to do his best to make our stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible.

Booked Jaffna Heritage Hotel for a short stay in Feb 2023. We had to check in during the very early hours of the day as we used public transport to reach Jaffna. Hotel Manager Wijekumara was very responsive and attentive from the moment we booked the hotel until we checked out. He made sure that everything(room/access and other amenities) was nicely arranged for us. We were quite surprised and very well impressed to see such wonderful service from the Manager and staff. Thank you so much Wije and hopefully, will be visiting in the future.

Jaffna Heritage hotel is a peaceful and relaxing place to stay. My room was very clean and comfortable with tea and coffee facilities, a tv with international channels and hot water shower facilities. The staff are incredibly generous and look after their guests in a respectful and welcoming manner. The hotel is also very secure, is in a convenient location short distance away from the town and only a very short walk to Nallur temple. I’ve been staying at the hotel over the years on solo and family trips and continue to be incredibly satisfied with my stays!

Everything was great

We had a very pleasant stay at Jaffna Heritage Hotel. All the hotel facilities were as advertised. The room was spacious and clean and the beds quite comfortable. They serve a very good vegetarian breakfast with traditional jaffna cuisine (dosa, indiappam, pittu, etc) plus bread and butter and local fruits. It should be noted that since the hotel is close to the Nallur Kovil, only vegetarian food is allowed. You can't consume alcohol or non-vegetrian food at the hotel. Since the hotel is centraly located in Jaffna, it's very easy to get out and about town. You can just walk outside and hail a three wheeler taxi. Nallur Kovil is about 500m away as is the famous Rio Ice Cream shop. A special thanks to Wijay and the rest of the staff for making our stay a memorable one. They really went out of their way to make out stay comfortable and enjoyable. Will be sure to come back when we return to Jaffna next time :).

The hote is in the heart of the city right next to the Nallur Kovil. If you want to experience true essence of Jafna highly recommend in staying at this place. It has a beautiful small garden space, interior has character and the staff is just amazing. Being a hotelier myself the staff really impressed me where they did everything possible deliver an emotional touch to their service. Meat and alcohol is not permitted to be consumed in public spaces but allowed in your guest room. This is not a negative since you realise that the spiritual and pure environment that is around the Nallur Kovil deserves that sort of a minor commitment and discipline. When I come to Jafna this hotel is always my go to place. Kudos to Wijekumara and the team.well done

very nice hotel in a quiet, safe and proper neighbourhood in lovely Jaffna. the hosts and staff are fantastic. large clean rooms and a nice pool to relax or start into the day. breakfast is mega, really fantastic local food (fruits and vegetarian curry). staff extremely helpful to organize transportation (bus transfer to Anuradhapura) and sightseeing (tuk tuk tour to Jaffna islands).
