The architecture of the building itself, including the interior of this "Belle Epoque" villa right on the promenade, is just breath-taking and full of atmosphere . Such a beautiful place! We were able to park our car in the street right next to the hotel entrance. Hotel Gennarino is located about 3km from the centre of Livorno, which is a nice walk along the seaside - if it's not too hot - otherwise the bus-stop is right outside the hotel. Massimiliano and the rest of the family and team were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was rich and exceeded our expectations. Also, having the yummy breakfast on the patio of this beautiful building was a great start to the day! We stayed for two nights in the red room which was just fine. We were perfectly content!

The mattress on my side of the bed was a little worn out and upon our arrival the sink in the bathroom could've been cleaner.

The building itself is a nice little period gem of architecture, lots of charm, looking very fine and classy. The position is right at the bus stop which was a plus as I didn't use the car there. Shoreline is very close, though it is a 10 mins walk. The neighbourhood seems decent and safe, as the military naval academy is accross the street. The room was spatious and clean, aircondition was fully functionable.

I missed those little extras at the room to feel comfortable - a kettle, some coffe and tea perhaps... a wellcome drink or something similar to make you feel wellcomed. The staff was ok - not rude, not too polite, not too interested either, but ok. The room was ground floor but felt like semi basement - there were moist stains at the base of walls. The room didnt smell bad, it was fine. Right in front of the windows there were cars parked at the level of the window pane. It would be unconfortable if my stay was any longer than one night. But for a one night sleepover it was acceptable. Overall not deserving the star rating but not to be avoided.

Traditional style hotel, maintained very well, with a number of modern features (e.g. excellent wifi, airconditioning, safe). Staff were very friendly. Nice range of continental breakfast options. Easy access to sea, baths (pools) and town by bus, with Pisa, Florence and La Spezia a further train ride away.

The seating area and TV by the lobby were used by the watchman in the evening, so sitting downstairs was not really an option. Minor issue only!

This was not my first stay at Gennarino, so I knew what to expect. Location is on the seafront so is within reach of most restaurants etc. It is also well-served by a transport line towards the centre.

The property sometimes shows its age. The air-conditioning control unit was broken when I first stayed there and it's still broken (in a different room). Other wise all's OK

Building has a nice and classic appearance. Love the actual keys instead of cards. Staff is nice and flexible. We had to wait for the ferry in the evening and it was no problem to safely keep our car behind the building and to keep using the facilities.

It is kind of a big walk to restaurants or cocktailbars because of the large military base in front of the door.

carpark is in the hotel but is not free and it is not mentionned on the site… cpuld be precised somewhere (10 euros a night)

Very goog quality of sheets and towels. Beautiful and historic building. Good size of room and bathroom. There is a parking if needed or free parking spaces in the streets. Wi-Fi works great in the bedroom.

Cutlery and glasses of the breakfast needed a better cleaning. Higher and softer pillows would be nice. Better sound isolation in the room door. If little things were improved, it would be the perfect place to stay in Livorno.

Highly recommended for this hotel. The breakfast is excellent and there are gluten-free options available. The staff are friendly, so if we find ourselves in Livorno again, we will definitely stay at Hotel Gennarino.

Highest recommendation to choose this place from me and my friend. Really nice small hotel from outside and inside(mini castle), really clean, good location not far away from Livorno center, close to the hotel there is so many nice restaurants with beautiful view. The staff is really warm and helpful in all situation. We felt like at home .

In addition to everything in the hotel being spotlessly clean, with stylish decor, I particularly enjoyed the gorgeous front terrace. The scent of the Jasmine was divine. Thank you. Beautiful place.
