Staying at Kendaka Nubian House was one of the best decisions we made during our Egypt trip! It is a hidden gem in a very rustic and charmful Nubian village (that actually looks like a beautiful village). The hotel's backyard faces a great view of the majestic Nile river. Kassem, the owner, is a great friendly guy and excellent host (we ended up exchanging numbers to stay in touch!) When we arrived at the hotel, our taxi driver tried to scam us by charging double the amount that he agreed upon when we hired him (quite common in Egypt, so travelers beware). Kassem sorted out the matter with the taxi driver and saved us from getting scammed. He then graciously welcomed us into his hotel, which is a treat for the eyes all around. Before checking-in our room, we were served exquisite Nubian-style tea on the boat where Kassem and his brother shared useful information about travelling in Aswan and Egypt. We were housed in the terrace room facing beautiful view of Nile river! The room was a perfect mix of Nubian culture and comfortable amenities, having everything that we needed. The staff (many of whom are Kassem's family members) were very cordial and took great care to make our stay so enjoyable. The food was GREAT, tasteful and had so many traditional verities. Being on the river bank, there were several nice sandy beaches within walking distance (Nile river is very clean here). Kassem spoke fluent English and is very proud of his Nubian heritage, which he fondly shared with us. There is a beautiful rustic market nearby. Access to the main highway is by Tuk-Tuk, which is easy to find. All in all, we had a great experience and would highly recommend Kendaka Nubian House to travelers in Aswan.

Nothing...everything was great!

Everything about Kendaka House was wonderful, especially considering the great value for the price. The location is perfect with stunning views, and the charm of the Nubian village adds so much to the experience. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the whole setting is peaceful and beautiful. But what truly makes this place magical is the hospitality. The people here are incredibly warm, welcoming, and kind, their energy and generosity made me feel like family. Kendaka House isn’t just a place to stay, it’s a place to connect and feel at home. Highly recommend!

Love the colors of this house. They cook very good nubian food. Owner is very easy going. They packed breakfast for us a night before our 4am tour. They also allow us to take a shower before moving to another travel destination. We can keep our luggage here. It is very near to nubian village market, within walking distance. Many things to see there.

The road here are small, taxi don't like come in here. During peak hours in market where there r a lot tourist, larger vehicle will be hard to move, except for tuk tuk. We asked our taxi driver to help get a tuk tuk for us to go in to save time. Have not have chance try the house boat since we had a very short stay. Would still choose to stay here as it is full of new cultural experience here.

The breakfast was absolutely excellent with a great variety. As for the location, it was fantastic. The place is in Nubia, and honestly, Nubian food is unmatched – delicious and flavorful. The place itself is beautiful and very comfortable, and the people there are incredibly kind and hospitable. Special thanks to Mr. Azam and Mr. Kazem, who are truly outstanding in managing the hotel. Their enthusiasm to ensure every guest's happiness is evident in everything they do. They have a remarkable energy and dedication to helping guests feel completely satisfied. This made the stay a truly unforgettable experience. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

Honestly, I don’t have any specific comments for improvement. My experience was excellent, and everything met my expectations. The people of Nubia truly take pride in ensuring that every guest leaves happy – they genuinely care about making sure no one feels dissatisfied. Thank you for providing such a wonderful stay.

Kendaka is the best Hotel to stay at the Nubian Village. It is family owned making it a place to feel like home. Everyone working at Kendata is kind and respectful. They are honest people. We visited the Aswan main sites in half a day with a speedboat. The food is abundant and fresh. So delicious. The building is colorful. It represents the vibrant culture of the Nubian people. Next time I come back to the village I will stay at Kendaka.

From the moment i arrived in Hotel i was made to feel very welcome. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The location of the Hotel was excellent as it is situated right next to the River and the view was amazing. The food was was good and its presentation. It is obvious to me now that the Hotel staff reflect the very hospitable nature of the the local Nubian people and this has encouraged me to return to the same Hotel again whenever i am in Egypt. Thank you Kendaka staff.

Nothing! Everything was fine

- We stayed two nights in this hotel. We enjoyed being out of the city and all the noise and traffic even tho the road to the house is not asphalted and it takes a lot of time to reach the property. The room was good and we had a terrace to watch the river at sunrise or in the late afternoon. - You can get a boat ride from the hotel between the nearby islands for the sunset. - Everyone was very kind and helpful. - There is a small tourist market with clothing and souvenirs nearby. - We arrange our visit to Abu Simbel with the hotel. The car, the driver, and the whole service were great.

We got our breakfast packed for our travel to Abu Simbel. It was very simple and not a lot of choices if you are vegetarian.

I liked everything. Treatment by staff was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable. The air conditioning worked well. The view from the balcony over the Nile was beautiful. The bathroom was functional. The property itself was colorful and beautiful. I was welcomed warmly with a cool hibiscus tea, which is always nice. The restaurant on the property serves excellent food, reasonably priced. If you're visiting Aswan and have a night or two to experience the Nubian Village, this is a great place to do it!

No complaints at all. Everything was excellent.

I am so glad I booked on this side of the river! The staff were amazing and made me feel at home. The food is awesome, so flavourful and huge portions, people were coming over from the east bank for lunch at the suggestion of their guides and friends. And, you can either eat on the shoreline or on the river boat in front with a nice breeze and shade. The room was so comfortable and with a beautiful view. I don't remember his name but the gentleman at the front desk was super helpful and booked a few tours for me and transfer from Aswan to Luxor, stopping at Kom Ombo and Edfu along the way, 100% recommenced if you are heading that way. The driver was so lovely and I felt very safe travelling alone with him.

I loved every minute

The owner was very (very!) friendly and everyone was so kind and welcoming. The buffet breakfast was really nice too, and the location is nice and chilled by the river. This hotel though is not close to Aswan, so you will need to take boats/cars to get into Aswan and some of the nearby sights. Transport options are limited, but other than this, the place was very nice to stay at, I had a wonderful time!

Location - although this is not the hotel's fault. The transport links just aren't great around the area.
