Location was excellent with their own vehicle parking facilities. All the staff there were always cheerful, friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. Local music night was really good albeit just a group of locals ‘Jamming’ with themselves. It was very clean throughout. 😁
If one wants to be completely critical, it could do with a bit of updating, and flooring needs to be fixed, as everywhere had a squeaky, but I believe the owners had not been there long, so it could be a work in progress. I did not understand why the bar closed at 2200hrs, but assumed it was a licensing issue ??

The place has character, an old coaching Inn, which we like and it's a little worn at the edges, but that's okay too, adds to the character. Cooked breakfast was good with a range of dishes to choose from. Great place for touring the area, coast or countryside. Will stay again.
A bath instead of just a shower, but we'd have had a different room as no space in the en-suite. The 4 poster bed was a wow factor on entering the room. Think the mattress could do with a thicker topper after feeling the odd spring.

The all-in package included breakfast and dinner. Dinner was fantastic and exceeded expectations both in terms of quality and content. Much of the produce was locally sourced and the choices were genuinely a la carte. Compliments to the chef! Service was also excellent. Breakfast was very good. All the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and it was great to walk out of the front door into the heart of Machynlleth on market day. Free parking at the rear of the hotel was a bonus as it can be a headache at some places
The Wynnstay is a charming old hotel and has bags of character but it's fair to say that our room and bathroom, although clean and comfortable, did look somewhat 'tired' and in need of an update.

Accommodation was dated in the bedrooms, bathrooms especially could do with some tlc, but everything worked as it should have done and was comfy and pleasant on the whole. The breakfast was tasty although not huge selections but was enough to set you up for a day. Staff were all very friendly and polite, pub atmosphere downstairs was really nice, clearly quite popular with the locals too.
Rooms could do with a little updating over time and bathroom we had could do with some tlc but nothing was broken, everything worked and was overall very nice to stay in.

What makes it exceptional is the Head chef Gareth Johns who has won numerous awards and has been resident chef for many years.and A great kitchen team. Hotel is a listed old coaching inn, so winding stairs, some sloping floors.,old massive fire places and quality furnishings to match good bedroʻoms and public rooms. Very good modern separate shower and bath. Throughout your stay Staff keen to assist you. Air conditioning are the Windows that open rather than the ice chiller blast sadly favoured by many hotels if not by their guests..
You should ask for assistance with your luggage on stairs. Staff happy to do this. If you have large case or infirm make sure you ask.

Very comfortable olde world room with probably a very ancient beam across the ceiling. The room was a comfortable temperature. the bed really comfortable. Plenty of tea and coffee
Would have liked a full length mirror in the room to check I looked fab before going out 😄. Came back to hotel at 11.10 pm to find it all looked up. We did have a front door key. But we thought we'd have a brandy before bed . But bar shut. I was surprised to find a hotel bar shut so early. The staff were very pleasant and friendly.

The property was central in the town and had good free parking. The rooms were spotless and very quiet. The food was perfect. The young lady’s who waited in the restaurant in the evening were really attentive, polite and friendly? and it was so nice to speak to them in Welsh. The lady’s in the morning were also brilliant.
I would have loved rooms that faced the front of the building but it didn’t put us off that we didn’t.

Lovely breakfast. Nice big room with a comfortable bed. Bathroom with big size of bath to relax in. (Also had shower). Own car park, very convenient for the town, seaside and a strenuous walk up Cader Idris. The chef there - I was told by a local shop keeper - had won awards etc. nice 3 night break.
It is no “premier inn” type place. Think about 250 years old. But I loved it. Quite quirky.

Good room. Very friendly and efficient service. Nice dinner. Excellent beer. Pleasant atmosphere in bar.
Breakfast was OK but limited. On my last day they ran out of haddock and my smoked salmon was warm. But cooked breakfast nice. A croissant option would have been nice. Would have liked more simple options fir diner but there are other places nearby.
