Got a room right at the front overlooking the harbour. Nice view, road not very noisy. Rooms in the hotel don't overlook the main beach. Right above the bar but no noise except between 10.30 and 11pm when there was loud music. Modern, freshly renovated, very comfortable beds and pillows, air-conditioning in the room too, bathroom modern and a good size. Nice toiletries, generous fluffy towels. Very nice hotel in an historic building. Good food and beer in the old pub downstairs. Breakfast reasonable cost too, especially kids which was only £2.50! We eat here often when on holidays, but this was the first hotel stay. To be honest I prefer the apartments directly overlooking the beach, especially as a family, but if they're not available this is a good choice. A better choice if just a couple visiting for a couple of days - this would be ideal. 10min walk from the train, lots of paid parking at the beach a couple of mins away.

We have just come back from a wonderful stay at the Dovey Inn. Our room was superb we had one double bed and then there was a separate door in our room leading to a smaller room with two single beds in. They also both overlooked the front to great views of the sea. All the rooms have recently been updated to a lovely standard. In a nice modern contemporary style. The beds were also very comfortable too. The pub and the restaurant itself were also wonderful. Our breakfast this morning was delicious. We have had very nice meals on previous occasions and have also drank in their many times during our trips to Aberdovey, but this is the first time we have actually stayed here. I would just like to say a big thank you to Dave for looking after us during our stay. Dave and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we will definitely be re booking again soon. Thank you 👍

Lovely bright rooms, decent size and good bathroom facilities. The showers are super powerful!! Staff really friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious and location was spot on for what we needed. Managed to get a free parking space in front of the hotel but otherwise there is parking a short walk up the road.

Nothing really it was very nice. The cost is a little pricey for one night but perhaps that is just the going rate for the area. Although our friends were supposed to be staying but apparently the hotel wouldn’t let them change from 2 nights to one night, so they had to cancel their whole booking :(

The room was very comfortable with a view of the Estuary. The beds were particularly comfy. We were above Tides Bar but the music stopped at a very decent time. The staff in the Dovey Inn were very friendly and helpful. We didn’t have breakfast but it looked delicious!

It was all absolutely fine. People looking to book need to be aware this is a vibrant pub on the Main Street of Aberdyfi. Obviously there will a,ways be noise until everyone leaves and heads for home. This is not a negative comment.

My wife and I have spent many happy days and stays at The Dovey Inn. Our most recent visit was in February 2025. Has usual The Staff, The accomodation,The food, The choice of drinks,The prices were all top notch. However we must give a special mention tho to Dave "The Gaffer". Not only does he always seem to be on duty, he's always working extremely hard to support his staff and give his best to make your visit/stay happy and memorable.Top Man 10 out of 10, Thanks again see you in the summer.

We booked a family room and it was very spacious with the kids in an adjoining room which suited us perfectly! Very comfortable bed, room was very clean, staff friendly. We didn't eat in the restaurant at all, just stayed overnight but we would happily stay here again.

The shower was very hard to get the temperature right in! Boiling or cold - the happy medium proved elusive for my husband, I managed to find it in the end!

Brilliant family room with a separate little room with twin beds separate from the main double room. Other rooms booked by our party were also excellent - spacious clean and comfortable. I missed breakfast as had to leave early, but other people in our party enjoyed theirs!

Nothing - err. Apparently I need to write more to submit the review! Apparently the cooked breakfast service was a little slow ~25min. Normally not an issue at all but we had places to be - breakfast was good though when it arrived :-)

Splendid location with outstanding views. Great sea facing rooms. Modern facilities in an historic building gave great atmosphere. The friendly nature and care of the staff with help to carry cases to the rooms added to the stay. One of the best places to stay in Aberdyfi. It made our stay there. The food was excellent and well served.

The cutlery could have been put in containers or placed on the table. I believe that so many places have an over reaction to Covid and use too much disinfectant so that the tables become sticky. In earlier times it might have been due to lack of wiping food away. Now, I believe, it is due to too much cleansing!! We had food at many different times. Sometimes the service was slow. I realize that they were busy.

We liked the location of the property and it’s excellent views of the sea and countryside

The room we stayed in was in dire need of decorating and wasn’t spotlessly clean ,dirty light switches ,marks on the walls carpet not hoovered and wall paper hanging off the wall in the bathroom. We also found packets of sugar and coffee wedged into the old sash windows like they were holding them shut but secondary glazing was covering this. The window ledges in between the glazing were really dirty.

Booked for my husband. Who said hosts were friendly. The twin room provided for a solo traveller was very nice with a beautiful sea view. Clean, comfortable, and spacious. Breakfast was extra but worth the money. Would happily stay again. Also went the extra mile when they agreed to post my phone charger back to me when I realised I had left it behind.

Bed was a little soft. Also, and this is just a polite suggestion, the stair carpet in the communal area could do with either a clean or replacement as it's the first thing you see.
