We paid a little extra for a sea view, and it was well worth it. The room itself was clean, warm, fresh, and the bed was so comfortable and quiet. Bathroom was spotless - instant heat from a gleaming shower that didn't leak everywhere. Huge TV and free Wi-Fi letting you stream direct from your mobile. Last time I could do that was in a 5 star hotel in London. Loved being able to open the window wide open for a blast of salty sea air and to film a timelapse of the clean and well looked after coastline. Nothing but the sound of the sea crashing against the shore and a short walk from all the sightseeing and tourist things to do. Lovely hosts, and incredible breakfast. Lots of options of cereals, juices, fruit, yogurts and full English (very well done and of a high standard) with toast, tea and coffee. We didn't need to eat for the rest of the day!!! The building is showing signs of its age, and we loved it all the more for it. There's a lot of history to the area, and this hotel is a perfect place to start exploring.

Lovely location on the seafront at Aberystwyth. The town was very quiet and peaceful on a Tuesday night. Room was large and hotel nice for a seaside resort. Room had sea view which was nice to wake up to. Breakfast staff were friendly and helpful, bit strange the breakfast room being in the basement but kitchen downstairs so understandable.

Check in staff weren't able to print something off for me on their printer which would have been helpful, Unsure if it was stand in staff on reception, but they were helpful about parking and answering a few other questions I had. Lift is available but is a bit old school, I chose to use the stairs.

I liked the sea view from our window.We had room 1 on the first floor and enjoyed hearing the sound of the sea, which was quite rough for the last days of our stay. Beautiful sunset from the window of our room. Our queen bed was big, clean with a good mattress for a good night sleep. We had a kettle in the room, complimentary bottles with water, tea, coffee and milk. The breakfast was very good. Cereals, selection of juice, fruits, gem and honey and also cooked breakfast with bacon, sausages, baked beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, fried eggs and toast. The breakfast room was down in the basement and the stairs were steep, not suitable for people with walking conditions. The hotel has a lift for one person which was useful to carry the luggage. We arrived early at the hotel and the check in being from 3pm we left the bags in the lounge. We did the same when we checked out, because our train was at 3:30 pm and the check out at the hotel was 10. Our room had a bathroom with a tub and a shower over the bath. It was a little tight to get in the bathroom, the door opens too close to the hand washing basin. Overall we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Both receptionists who we met during our stay were very nice and friendly. They booked us a taxi when we needed it. Thank you.

Friendly, helpful staff. A jacket got left behind; we arranged for DHL to pick it up and Emyr packaged it up very promptly for collection. The breakfast, in a large basement room, was very good, with a range of hot and cold choices. Good to have a bath, rather than just a shower. Great location on the northern end of the promenade, very close to the funicular railway (which is well worth taking).

Our room was three floors up (we booked at the last minute and the hotel was otherwise full, so we can't complain), and the one-person lift was a tad creaky.

The staff were very friendly and helpful going out of their way to help us with an electric heater, and called a Chinese for us too as we had no phone service. I think they upgraded us to a seafront room which was nice.

We were excited to get a bath as per the booking info but it was just a shower. The lift doesn’t work, the place is quite dirty when you look into it like cobwebs in every corner, it was cold and the plug situation in the room was frustrating, the lamp was temperamental, the orange juice was some sort of cheap concentrate, the eggs were strange - tasted like hard boiled but flat like fried, there was a fly on the jugs and fluff on the toast. It was fine overall given the price but it could have easily been improved.

Great location on the seafront, and our room had a sea view! Lovely self-serve breakfast which is included in the price, and friendly staff on hand with tea and coffee. The location is at the end of the beach, but still walking distance from most of the town's attractions.

The hotel is showing its age a bit, and the lack of dedicated parking means you have to check out the local options and restrictions in advance.

We really enjoyed this hotel. Yes, it is old, but it's clear that it has been well cared for and they have tried to repair everything so that everything works. Everything worked for us: the shower worked, the window worked, the TV worked, there was hot water, and a very beautiful sea view. It's very pleasant in the morning to leave the window open and listen to the waves hitting the pier. The staff is very good, the food was delicious, and they took care of everyone to make sure everything was hot. I highly recommend this hotel; it is perfect for its price. Yes, it's not a luxurious hotel, but the price is very low.

A kink in the door should be replace for more solid one.

Staff were lovely. The room was spacious and the bed was so comfy. Everywhere was clean and tidy. The ensuite bathroom was big with a great shower. I missed breakfast as I decided to sleep in before my long journey.

There isn't much to dislike about this place. If I wanted to find fault, I'd have to go searching. Maybe that I wasn't told when breakfast was on my arrival and I asked a guest? But I could have asked on check in, so more a fault of my own.

It was right on the sea front, so had a great view. There was also parking available outside the hotel and it was within walking distance of the city centre

The breakfast staff were really friendly and very kind and helpful, and there was a good variety of breakfast options, but I think some of the quality of the ingredients for the cooked breakfast could be improved

Perfectly placed on the front, friendly staff, great breakfast and service,, and exceptional value for the price. Ideally based to walk the town, no restaurant but its a short walk to some great eateries. We had looked at the reviews so weren't sure what to expect, and yes it's not 5 star, but it's no where near that pricing, but we would certainly use it again because it does exactly what's needed, and warm too.
