With in walking distance of town centre, pub is close by for meals and drinks, a bath and it was clean.

Food was expensive at the pub, only discounted if you book direct, but it was nice would have used it a lot more with some incentive but its cheaper in town.you don't stay at the pub pictured but at the hotel block a short walk away which is starting to look neglected with wood coming off the building,broken garden surrounds around the perimeter and weeds everywhere. You don't really talk to any staff unless you go to the pub where you book in who never mentioned about inserting your card in the room to get the electric on which we didn't know, these are minor complaints the people we spoke to were polite and nothing was too much trouble and we enjoyed our stay.

Room 12 leak on bathroom floor from toilet. No biscuits provided in rooms. Our group of 6: Beers barrel dregs served. Had to complain. Replaced but then order took ages to take and deliver. Mix up with some of order. Sat down 7pm. Food arrived around 8.20pm. Too late to eat. So didn't have desserts. But Rowan managed to sort out compensation as best he could for the errors. Thank you. Then issues with bill. Till was unable to take off each pair's payment like everywhere else does. Rowan had to itemise the bill to fit each of our payments, to make up the whole amount.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Happy and always smiling. Rooms were a nice size for a family and the beds were comfortable and spacious for what we needed. Kettle and tea and coffee facilities were an added bonus. Bathroom was a nice size and having a bath was Fab with the children. Pillows were soft too and it was spotlessly clean. Great location and the food at the restaurant was lovely too. Breakfast was plentiful and good value for money. Security was good and the fact you could only enter the accomodation via a key card was a good idea too. Check in was smooth and easy.

Maybe a few more pillows and instructions on how to use the heating. As we woke up freezing 🥶 and a small fridge to keep the babies milk in would be Fab too

If we come this way again, we will definitely stay here. The welcome we received from Jess was second to none, very friendly and helpful, with more than a touch of humour! The room was good, typical of its type; the bed was exceptionally comfortable and the quality of the refreshments was above the normal standard. Dinner and breakfast were both very good, reasonable value for money. I would not hesitate in recommending an evening meal at Starling Cloud, so overall, a really good experience. Thank you to all the staff, particularly Jess and the gentleman who was on breakfast duty on the Saturday morning (sorry, I did not catch his name).

We have stayed here a few times because we have always had a nice stay. The room is comfortable and clean. Breakfast is good with plenty of choice. There is ample parking. The staff are friendly and helpful.

This time the heating was not working in the building and it was a cold January weekend. We were offered extra blankets. It would have been useful to be informed beforehand so we could have been better prepared. We would not have cancelled regardless. Normally it is very quiet but this time some disrespectful guests came back to their rooms around 2am laughing, talking loudly then arguing. There is nothing the staff can do about that though.

Had been looking for somewhere and this was my last choice, should have been my first. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Good food, loved the arancini starter. Benefit of 20% discount on evening meal from room booking, nice one. Accommodation was very good. Location made it easy to walk into town and it was quiet at night. Room temperature was just right, didn't need to adjust, plus the curtains really work which I appreciate. Plenty of parking available. Will be back.

Not a dislike, more a comment. Would benefit from a wider choice of bitters (think there was only Wainwrights on draft).

Staff exceptionally friendly & helpful. Accommodation clean, quiet & functional. Food was very good.

Bathroom was a letdown. Very small and pokey. Shower wasn't user friendly. Fixed head from ceiling height, not good for ladies hair. No shower hats provided. Shampoo and body wash bottles very difficult to operate, time expired! Washbasin plug was a swivel type designed to gobble up rings etc. when open. No room or hooks for clothing. Toilet pushbuttons required tremendous force to operate.

Breakfast was fine

I had an accessible room. Bearing this in mind, there was nowhere to put my case. If a couple were staying the only place would be the floor and, bearing in mind that this was an accessible room, many disabled people wouldn't be able to access their case on the floor. Fortunately, I was travelling alone so I put the case on the bed at the bottom of the side I wasn't using. Also, in the bathroom the only place to put a toilet bag etc., other than the floor, was on top of the flush box.

Facilities are modern and clean. Air conditioning made the stay a lot more comfortable especially as the weather was warm, all other accommodation I've stayed at either on sea front or town has lacked this which has made stays a little uncomfortable/warm on times. TV worked great, shower/bathroom facilities all worked without issue. Staff at the Starling cloud pub next door were very accommodating and helpful. The Starling cloud, though based outside of the main town, is a mere 5 minutes walk to town, there's also a walk through the park from the venue which is pleasant if you didn't fancy walking along the main road.

Mattress on one side wasn't particularly comfy, quite indented and lumpy. Door opening mechanism needed three scans of the card to let you in your room which was a little tedious. Lack of hanging hooks for coats/jackets, more hangers would have been nice. Kettle took a loooonnngg time to boil, could do with updating. Small draws for clothes storage would have been nice.

Had a lovely, warm welcome from Jess🥰we love you Jess😃We were suprised at the quality of the stay for the price we paid, we were well chuffed!!👍🏼had a brilliant early celebration for the Chinese new year by eating our fortune cookies🥠 went to the club “pier pressure” nearby and it’s fair to say we would have rather spend the night relaxing in the starling!🤞🏼The breakfast was incredible and an amazing price yet again! We inhaled the whole buffet!!😋thanks for being a darling, Starling💗
