Just returned from a 2 night stay at the Tilman. From start to finish my Wife and I thought it was brilliant. We had a room on the top floor which was clean and really quiet. We stayed B&B with the breakfast been absolutely gorgeous and all the staff were very helpful and polite. The hotel itself is in a great location in the town with a free to use carpark literally 30 second walk away. In summary I would like to thank everyone it the Tilman for making our stay so memorable and will definitely be returning.

Seagulls...hate them haha. Don't really know what to put here!!

The Tilman is a cocktail bar with rooms above. We were on the 2nd floor (room 7) and did not get any noise at all from the bar, and very little from the street. The superking sized bed was very comfortable, and the room was lovely and spacious. The air conditioning was needed as the communal areas (stairs and corridors) were very warm and there is only a small opening on one window in the room. The location is very good being close to the Harbour area and on the main street through Barmouth. The private parking is very good, with an electronic barrier to enter and exit, The breakfast is excellent, lots of choices and delicious well cooked food. We also ate therein the evening a couple of nights and the sharing platters were delicious. All of the staff were freindly and helpful.

Unfortunately they were having a problem with the air-con on the last 2 nights of our stay which made the room very warm for sleeping.

The rooms are lovely, the bedrooms are well laid out and the bathrooms are beautiful. The nice touches like bottles of milk are great and some nice drinks in the fridge in the room. Bed was really comfortable. And as per last time the sound proofing in the rooms is second to none it's so quiet in there.

Pillows are far too soft and wasn't any extra available in the room. The fridge in the room hums quite loudly so could do with being in a cupboard somewhere not right next to the bed. The carpets through the place are looking really grubby and are in desperate need of a deep clean or replacing.The two lamps didn't work on the bed side tables. But the biggest issue is the A/C kept showing a fault all through the night and this morning which meant it got really warm in the room and made it difficult to sleep as I like a room to be cold. We've stayed before and it was one of the best places we've stayed but standards have definitely slipped considering the price.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, I liked the bar, had an industrial craft ale feel to it ( did sell a couple of locally brewed beers too ! ) Breakfast was great, decent choice and alternatives so no need to get bored having the same every day. The room was clean, had a boutique feel. Space was used inteligently and the en suite was great

Management need to review its out of hours procedure so staff can be contacted if needed. There was a late night fire alarm that dragged out for 2 hours because staff / key to disable was difficult to locate. No phone number for out of hours contact. However I must add the manager was very apologetic and ensured we were reimbursed for the inconvenience so kudous to him.

The room was huge with big windows, and really comfortable. The decor was great, quite modern and stylish. The bathroom was huge and beautifully appointed. An amazing shower and a separate bath! The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really good. Although the rooms are above a very lively and popular pub, there was no noise at all in the rooms. Right in the centre of town and close to the beach, so the location was perfect. Free parking was much appreciated. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay there again.

Such a wonderful stay here. The room was immaculate, and the bed was really comfy. We loved the little touches like fresh milk, and water that's available to top up if needed. The breakfast is an absolute must if you are staying here, very fresh and lots of choice. The location is also perfect, you are central so close to pubs/restaurants/shops and the harbour and beach. We will definitely stay here again.

If I was being super picky then maybe the tv a bit closer to the bed - but otherwise perfect.

Very clean and well facilitated room. Kettle/ selection of teas, coffee and water in the room. Getting ready table and chair. Very comfy bed and nice fat soft pillows. Air con. Fridges on the stairway with extra cans of water and milk for the room. Waterfall shower with shower gel shampoo and handwash provided. Breakfast was very nice and the bar downstairs is a good bar.

Note:- although my room at the front was cracking, my friends room at the rear had a separate free standing air con unit next to the bed which was a bit noisy so if your booking ask for a room that does not have the free standing aircon unit.

The room was modern, nice and clean. Liked the fridge on landing with fresh milk. Good wifi. Separate residents door to go in and out without entering bar once given key. In centre of town but room was peaceful and quiet. Air con a nice touch as it was really hot when we stayed. Better than I thought it would be for rooms over a pub.

Couldnt get into carpark as Tilmans wifi went down while on phone to them to open gate. Couldnt find car park at first as its round the corner from the pub. Bit of messing about but managed in the end. Had to go in main bar with pub customers to book in. Didnt really like eating breakfast in the bar area but the food was nice and food service was good. Wouldnt visit Barmouth again, very pretty but nothing to do there. About an hour there is enough. Shops and food overpriced. Shops all sold old tat. Like I said you could walk round it in a hour then nothing to do with the rest of your time. Overated town.

The hotel is right in the centre of town. The bedroom was spotless and decorated to a high standard. Extremely comfy bed and pillows. Tea, coffee and biscuits were supplied along with still and spring water. There was a little fridge on the landing of the first floor if you ran out of water and milk which was complementary...very nice touch. The breakfast was probably one of the best breakfasts we have ever had and was freshly made to order. There is private secured parking for the hotel. Great staff.

Nothing.....it was perfect.

Due to the train times, we arrived early and were most relieved to find that our room was ready for use. Our room was at the back on the 2nd floor where there was no noise from the bar at all and we could see the beach. The bed was very comfy, the bathroom was a decent size, decor is modern but cosy, toiletries are provided and cold water and extra milk are available from a fridge on the landing. As the weather was hot, it was great to have air con - which gave us the best night's sleep we'd had in a week. The staff at breakfast time were extremely kind and thoughtful. As we were on a tight schedule to catch a train we were given exact prep times for the cooked breakfast and they even offered to package it up if we needed to eat it on the move!

No complaints! The room was spacious enough for a short stay, but there are other larger rooms available should you need more space.
