We stayed in a beautifully decorated double room, some lovely pieces of furniture/ up cycled furniture that looked fab! We were so chuffed that we had two fans in the cupboard of the room, plus a heater which would be great during the colder months. Everything was clean, lovely staff, good shower, the pub downstairs sells food so that was handy. Also, a stunning view!

The bed was not comfortable, the mattress is on a divan base. I don't know whether it was the mattress or the base but it felt like there was a slope and it was a very firm mattress. We didn't realise the pub had entertainment on the Saturday, which doesn't bother us at all... It only bothered us when it was 1.30am and everyone was still in the pub and very loud.

Had granola and yogurt, so didn't have cooked breakfast. A really lovely little hotel. Very comfortable, good shower and coffee and tea facilities and quality towels. Good parking and liked atmosphere. Secure key for door. Would liked to have had an evening meal, but spent evening with friends. Would stay again, really good value and friendly people. Liked being able to open windows and felt safe.

Needed a lighter duvet for summer. The steps were outside to climb to rooms, and then a few more inside. Maybe should have stated this, or i should have asked, as I do have knee problems, but could still manage. I needed WiFi to get BBC , but didnt bother for so short a stay.

I'd stayed here before. Just a few minutes' drive out of Tywyn. Very comfortable bed, clean bathroom, great shower, etc. Tea / coffee making facilities provided. Wi-fi worked well (at least on first night - it didn't on my second, but I think that was a problem with my laptop, not the wi-fi!). Quiet location, and room looked out towards the hills. Check-in time shown as until 8pm, but I messaged the property to check if arriving later would be a problem and was told it wouldn't be, but if I would be later than 10pm I should phone them. Unfortunately, I was delayed on the last leg of my drive and arrived at about 10.05pm to find doors locked and lights in the bar being switched off... I phoned them and initially got no answer, but on the second attempt got through and the member of staff on the premises (the owner?) came down to show me to my room - and it appeared to be no hassle at all (thank you for being understanding!). I didn't sample breakfast, as I had to leave just a little too early (and breakfast was available where I was going; it's not included in the price of the room).

Nothing really, although if two people were staying in the room all the extra small cushions on the bed might get in the way. Anyone not arriving before 8pm, though, really ought to make contact in advance as some nights the bar is very quiet and closes earlier than you might expect.

Traditional village pub/hotel. Great food. Free parking. Reasonably priced. Breakfast available but not as early as I needed ☹️ En-suite well appointed and spotlessly clean. Obvious care taken with decor although not to my taste.

Decor over fussy -style over substance - not very practical for guests. Too many decorative cushions on bed and linen and towels chosen to match the decor. Would have preferred white cotton. WiFi was complicated with different code for main hotel, bar and rooms - not well explained by staff or signage.

The Peniarth Arms is a 'proper local', i.e. a lively, popular pub with elegantly refurbished guest rooms. My room had a very comfy bed with plenty of bedding & cushions. I arrived later than expected but this wasn't a problem. In the morning I woke to a beautiful view over fields and mountains, and then enjoyed a delicious porridge. The location was good, close to Tywyn - only a couple of minutes' drive away - and ideal for the hills just inland.

Maybe the signage could be slightly more obvious. I arrived in the dark and drove straight past the pub, but, admittedly, I didn't have a satnav and should have read the address more carefully ...

The surroundings are beautiful and the bed very comfortable in a clean room. Nice lively pub. The breakfast was excellent, we had eggs benedict and full Welsh.

The check-in is at the bar and it was very busy when we arrived at 7pm. I was told by waitress that we had to wait in the drinks/food queue (with our luggage) The wait time was only about 10 minutes and very quick once we were served, but as the bar was so full and the queue being in a pinch point between the 2 sides of the pub it was quite awkward with the bags. I would suggest to prioritise people checking-in over drinks orders to get them out of the way.

The food of an evening in the restaurant was exceptional, not cheap but worth every penny.. breakfast was good, no need to eat out anywhere else, access to the room at any time was useful , two chairs in the room would have been an improvement, but appreciate depends on size, everything for your convenience otherwise, good place to stay for surrounding area, which is beautiful, bed was very comfortable,

Parking was often busy, and rather messy, but that was due to the weather.

Loved my two night stay. All of the the staff were most helpful. Food was good both Breakfast and evening meals. Quite entertaining just people watching. Rescued a fantastic dragonfly from behind the Highland cow, supposed to be lucky?

Cushions, not quite sure what to do with them so filled the wardrobe. A quilt and a heavy duvet? Much to warm for the season.

Considering we had essentially "gatecrashed" a family new year's eve party unintentionally, by booking last minute and being the only non friends or family member in the pub, everyone was lovely. We were made to feel very welcome. The steak was really good, cooked well. The bed was super comfy, a beautiful backdrop of the cader Idris mountain range. This was supposed to be our last motorbike adventure of 2023, however predicted storms made us take the car for safety, we were not disappointed by the beauty of the road from machynlleth to the pub which made up for not being on bikes. We will be back. Thank you to everyone who made such an effort to make us feel welcome despite not being family.

Could almost see your breath in the bedroom when we arrived, no heating on, found a radiator on the wall and an extra heater in the wardrobe. Set them to low and went for a drink before coming back upstairs for a shower by which time the room had warmed up. Not a major issue but maybe a suggestion that heating could be on low for an hour before guest arrival?

As I was doing Race the Train in Tywyn only 5 minutes away the location was perfect for us. Staff were friendly on arrival and booked us a table for an evening meal. Rooms looked to have been recently refurbished and although not my taste could not be faulted. Food was good but not exceptional. Would definitely return.

Bit noisy, music and drinking still going on at 02:30. Not loud noise but as we needed windows open, it was a warm night, we could hear.
