Fab hotel. Facilities first class.

Executive lounge closes early, just when most people would use it for coffee and a drink after dinner. Spent a lot of money at the beach bar. Only sweet snacks in the lounge during in the day. Unlike other savoury tapas at other Gran Melias.

The staff at the hotel were all very professional and friendly. The hotel facilities, for example the pool areas, restaurants, beach bar and bars were fantastic. The fact it was on the beach was great. We stayed in the red level rooms which gave access to a separate breakfast room and almost unlimited snacks and drinks.

There was nothing we didn’t like but the 2* Michelin Restaurant Alevante was not to our liking, and taking into account the high cost of the meal and wine pairing was disappointing. Think carefully on your food preferences before booking.

We loved the room and the hotel generally - staff were amazing and the entertainment each night was a lovely surprise. Beach is amazing and not crowded. Really enjoyed our stay

The buffet was very hit and miss - the chicken on the first night wasn’t fully cooked. We regretted not eating more in the Al a carte restaurants. However Al a carte were also expensive. There was also construction work behind the red level on a new hotel. It wasn’t very distracting but would have preferred not to see the cranes etc at the same time!

Breakfast was great, a varied selection and the chefs cooked delicious omelettes to order. We had half board too, so dinner was included- once in the buffet and twice in the a la carte restaurant, to be honest they were both great and service was impeccable. My room was peaceful and the bed was super comfortable- and I am very fussy! The bathroom was beautiful and spacious.

Luxury hotel with exceptional staff and faultless service. Lovely ambience throughout. Classy clientele. Fantastic large pool area. Situated on beautiful Barrosa beach. Last year we stayed in a Level room, this year we decided against it as didn’t feel it warranted the extra money.

A little dated in places - bathrooms, corridors. Shower pressure not too good. Very touristy area, therefore no authentic Spanish restaurants within easy walking distance for evening meal. Fortunately we had a car so were able to drive places. Lovely Chirringuitos for lunches though along Barrosa beach (walkable). Our favourite was La Loma and also the hotel beach restaurant.

Breakfast was Amazing on the first morning .However, the second and third mornings they ran out of blueberries and strawberries. Not a big deal we are traveling through Spain for 20 days and this was our number 1 breakfast, next few days a bit of a let down. Last day breakfast in the Red level room was less impressive than the normal buffet breakfast. The maintenance of the facilities were stellar, everything was in order. The bed was so comfortable compared to the other 4 and 5 star hotels that we stayed in.

Because of the language barrier, we didn’t make reservations for the restaurant. However, the restaurant that we ate at had a limited menu. Fernando’s bar food was very good. Everything else was excellent.

We’ve travelled to many luxury hotels around the world and this one is special without a doubt. Impeccable service, beautiful facilities, great food. Everything is thoughtful and easy, plenty of small touches for extra wonderlust. We wish every luxury hotel was run the way this one is.

The location. It’s fabulous. The rooms are well appointed and good wardrobe space. There could be more hangers!

Some staff did not speak English. Which we struggled with.

Everyone was so dedicated and professional. The service was excellent. The breakfast was delicious, the restaurant à la carte as well. Amazing stay, very friendly staff: receptionist, bellboys, restaurant management, waiters, housekeepers and from the direction Roland, who welcomed us when we arrived and was very attentive during our stay. thank you so much for this wonderful time! The location,facilities,extremely friendly staff and the beautiful hotel!

Although the food was great I would have preferred much more variety. Majority of the restaurants at the venue had the same foods.
