The hotel is very nice with very nice looking rooms and bathroom and a comfortable bed. The garden is lovely, and the location back from the road next to the lotus pond kept it peaceful. The food at the restaurant was good quality and the servers were very nice.

Our room had an adjoining door to the next room and it’s only a light wooden door between. So we could easily hear the people next door and also chose to speak quiet so that they couldn’t hear our conversations. So not very private in that sense. We didn’t like the placement (or circumstances?) of the air conditioner. It’s a very small room and it didn’t circulate very well. It was either too hot and stuffy or too cold. My husband got very cold sitting at the desk, meanwhile I was hardly getting any cool air in the bed.

A small complex which made it very quiet, the pool was central and perfect for sitting around. The breakfast choices were perfect. The room was comfy with a large king size bed and the bathroom was very spacious with a luxurious rainfall shower head.

There were loads of mosquitoes in the bathroom which filtered out into the room. The bathroom has an open air section which was great for letting out steam and humidity but an invitation for the mozzies. There was a net over the bed to counteract the mozzies but we just used mozzie patches on the bed head.

Great location with easy access to the main road by the path alongside the lotus lagoon as well as the laneway to the main entrance. We had an upstairs room with a balcony overlooking the lotus lagoon and the pool. Comfy bed in a large room, and a modern clean bathroom. We ate at the restaurant a couple of times and the food was enjoyed by us both. Great pool and loungers with umbrellas. The Balinese music from the restaurant was a little loud, and we found it repetitive, but that might be just us...

None of this is a reflection on the hotel. There is no nearby beach to speak of. We did swim in the boat harbour at the end of the lagoon and it was refreshing. You will need sandals to enter the water because the broken coral is hard on your feet. Local kids were swimming in the lagoon. The main road through the village is busy so eating at the warungs can be noisy.

Rama Shinta is a beautiful hotel. It is off the main road, about 2 mins walk to the ocean, past the lotus lagoon. It is up the Virgin Beach end of Candidasa. The rooms are spacious and clean with mozzie nets, and we were able to book a family bungalow with a separate room and bathroom for our son. The pool is great, and the food is excellent.

A lovely little hotel. The staff are very helpful and kind. The room was clean. It is very quiet and peaceful. I had friends staying in a nearby hotel paying more than me but I felt my room was much better positioned, overlooking the pool and the little restaurant. Typically Balinese but plenty of hot water, and mosquito netting around the bed, although I never saw any mosquitoes at all. Good value for the price paid.

Whilst the hotel is beachfront there is no direct access to the beach but it is easy to just follow the path alongside the hotel. Breakfast was well priced but limited. There are no beach views but I didn't mind as I loved how peaceful it was.

The pool area is incredibly peaceful, the lodge is stunning and the staff were wonderful. The design of the villa is traditional Balinese style which is just so beautiful! The food at the restaurant is delicious - especially the fish.

The bathroom is semi-open with holes near the roof. This let in a lot of flies at night. Not an issue but my advice to any traveller here would be to put the mosquito nets down on the bed in the early afternoon (before the mosquitos appear in the evening) and keep the bathroom door shut. It’s absolutely not a deal-breaker though as the hotel is stunning.

Beautiful pool area with well tended, beautiful and colouful plants. It is a very pleasant space to spend hours relaxing by the pool. The property is adjacent to Candidasa's stunning lotus lake, a beautiful outlook especially in the early morning when the lotus flowers are open and blooming. Comfortable room with fridge and kettle - always on my room wish lists. Friendly and helpful staff. A lovely place for a few days of simple rest.

Having travelled around Asia for the last few months staying in a variety of properties, I found the price of this property higher than others with similar facilities and in more popular areas. There isn't a beach at the property - this I was aware of but I found the area in general a little tired. More bugs specifically little ants than anywhere else I have been.

Lovely hotel, great location and amazing staff. Breakfast was priced reasonably with no tax. Front of house staff always ask how your stay is and very attentive to your needs. We were in front of the pool, next to the restaurant and never heard any kitchen or restaurant noise. Would definately stay again.

The only issue we had was we had a interconnecting room with friends. While the door was locked for privacy, you could hear conversations and music through the door. Also, everytime they flushed their toilet, our toilet would gurgle with water and bubble up. Please note, this was clean water that would bubble back, not sewerage water.

This is a small hotel that has a peaceful atmosphere with an extremely clean pool and tranquil exceptionally well maintained gardens. Whilst the facilities are somewhat basic they are more than adequate for a comfortable stay. The small restaurant serves a basic menu from a very clean kitchen, guests can see thier food being prepared behind a large glass wall. We could not fault the cheerful, helpful staff. There is not a lot to do in Candidasa but that suited us because it gave us the opportunity to unwind. We have stayed here before and if in Bali again will rebook

Hotel surcharge on taxi service a bit steep. Pool closed at 1930 hours, would have been better if stayed open till 2130.

A small hotel that created a positive and happy interaction between guests and hotel staff. Very friendly and sincere waitresses in the fabulous little restaurant. The location next to the town's beautiful lotus pond was most engaging. I loved my experience at the Rama Shinta.

Sometimes water was not replaced in my room . How ever was not hard to obtain water at the restaurant.
