Stunning setting in well maintained, attractive gardens. A lot of money has clearly been spent on the high quality ‘lodges’ and dining room. A fun hour was spent in the hot tub/sauna alongside the fast flowing river. Free shuttle service to this out of town location, though we did enjoy a downhill, 30 minute stroll into the centre.

The menu didn’t have enough vegetarian choices and the dishes were quite pricey. We went at the end of the rainy season so the beautiful river was in full flow - unfortunately the noise did keep us awake at night. Other guests may find it soothing!

It would have been nice to have a place to fill water bottles. We had 4 adults in the family tent and had to keep asking for more water. Which was brought quickly, but was inconvenient. Also, for an eco resort, I thought it was strange that the only trash can was the small one by the toilet. I was hoping that that one was composted. But there was no place to put non organic trash. The shower had very spotty hot water.

The photos and descriptions don’t do this place justice. Located in a quiet valley half an hour’s walk (or a short drive) from Ollantaytambo the Las Qolqas Eco Resort by far exceeded our expectations. The friendly and helpful staff helped us with all our questions and requests, alongside the manager and the owner of the hotel. They also recommended a Machu Picchu guide for us (Porfirio - charming and very knowledgeable) and helped us with transportation to and from the train station to get to Machu Picchu (included in our room rate). The food on site is excellent, as are the drinks. There are fireplaces in each cabin which they’ll light for you at your request. You can admire hummingbirds from the comfy chairs on your veranda while you can hear the birds chirp and the sounds of the nearby river. We also did a lovely 2hr hike (each way) on an Inka Trail to the nearby Pumamarca Ruins which was amazing and we didn’t see any other tourists the whole way - a great way you get away from the masses. Las Qolqas was easily our favourite place we stayed at in Peru.

The most stunning setting in the Sacred Valley! One of the most beautiful views anywhere. Great restaurant. Breakfast included and had a huge menu of items cooked to order. Had a family tent with 2 bedrooms, a loft with 4 beds and 2 bathrooms. We really appreciated all of the space as a family of 5 who often has to book two hotel rooms.

It's over a mile to town and not walkable. The shuttle only runs until 6. However, the resort will assist in sending a taxi for pick up.

Beautiful resort just outside enough to be peaceful but not so far to make it hard to access. The grounds were immaculate and the service top notch. A shuttle to the town is provided, or you can walk along a pleasant hiking trail to get there in 20 minutes. Included breakfast was generous and delicious.

The prices for dinner at the restaurant were ridiculously high compared to other places in the area.

Incredibly beautiful, you can tell they take really good care of it, mountains in the background are unbelievable. Clearly built with the environment in mind. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and went above and beyond to help us. One of our laptops was stolen in the airport, and Hector the manager helped us file a police report and Maria even accompanied us and waited with us and helped with translations. The chef is also incredibly creative and even made to order meals for us that weren’t on the menu. The breakfast is also expansive and delicious and the service especially from Charlie was impeccable. They even packed us a breakfast to go when we had a very early train to Machu Picchu. It got a little chilly at night but they lit the fire for us in our room which was more than enough. Can’t recommend highly enough!

The meals are priced in USD and are comparable in price to what you’d pay in New York or London rather than Peru. For e.g. one appetiser and two mains with no drinks came to $50 USD.

A real haven of tranquility nestled in the mountains above Ollantaytambo. The tents are spacious, clean and comfortable. The sitting area outside is perfect for reading. My suggestion would be to ask for a tent that faces west so you get the sun directly in the late afternoon rather than the early morning. The use of the term “mini bar” is somewhat misleading - each room comes with an empty mini fridge for you to stock up as required. Each room also comes with a mini wood burner which is lit every evening for you, a very nice touch. The complimentary car into Ollantaytambo isn’t always available but you can take a tuk tuk or taxi easily. The spa offers good massages, although the sauna and hot pool facilities weren’t working properly. The wifi is okay but isn’t hugely reliable. The breakfast is nice but rather basic. The restaurant lunch and dinner are also okay but don’t match the specialness of the hotel, if the food was elevated using better quality ingredients, cooking techniques and more modern recipes it would make the place even more special. The team are wonderfully kind and helpful and do a fantastic job of cultivating the peaceful environment. If you need anything during your stay you can simply what’s app the team, a very efficient service. Juan and Jim and Virginia were especially brilliant at making me feel welcome and at home during my stay. Thank you to all of the team for looking after me so well, it’s been such a lovely few days and I am sad to leave this magical place.

I traveled with my best friend and we loved everything. The service was excellent ✨ Beautiful rooms and common areas. PUTUTU, the restaurant of the hotel is amazing, the best restaurant from the Sacred Valley. Delicious food. We had a cooking class with the chef of the restaurant and he exceeded our expectations. The spa is wonderful. We really recommend the Andean Circuit and the couple rituals 🥰 we had the Andean Romance and the spa team are incredible. The location between the mountains is magical! Excellent time here and definitely the best hotel in the Sacred Valley!

I loved everything about the property.

Super quiet, very private and comfortable. Amazing sleep with the sound of the nearby river. Also friendly stuff.

Something is still missing, so I can’t give 10 points. Common areas are not very cosy and bar floor always look dirty. I don’t know, maybe free tea in the bar area would be nice, because it is not a very warm area:)
