We had three rooms in the cottage which has the most stunning garden and views. The rooms are large and we loved the baths! The old Cape Dutch House and gardens were beautiful with views over Table Mountain. Lovely to be on an old historic farm and see the way they've adapted buildings for accommodation.
The fridge in the rooms was very noisy and all of us unplugged them overnight. Would be great to have some information on the farm and what to do in the area. as no one could tell me the history of the farm. Nearest places to eat in the evening is a 20 minute drive to Stellenbosch.

Photos don't do justice for this beautiful gem. The rooms are wonderful and fully equipped to cater for all needs. Delicious breakfast and meals available, super friendly staff who will help you 24/7. I felt so pampered during my time here and will visit again.
This is more for location, I think the road leading to Hawksmoor could use additional signs so Uber drivers know where to go. I noticed Uber Black was good at finding their way to the accomodation.

The old buildings are truly authentic, found in the rural wine lands, yet not too far from all the attractions in the area. The staff were really warm and caring. We had plenty of firewood for the cold evenings and lots of space around the fire place in the big villa lounge to enjoy it. The morning breakfast in the family manor was prepared very well, served hot and we enjoyed it very much. The host was very attentive with her specially baked biscuits and cocktails she made for us. We enjoyed our stay very much.
This beautiful place just needs some attention to bring it back to its original look with some maintenance, with small things like changing some light bulbs, checking some of the bedroom windows that didn’t shut properly & made a noise when it’s windy . Just a few small things and general maintenance will make all the difference for this lovely property.

Service - the Hawksmoor team were phenomenal. So very friendly and helpful. We had actually booked 'Classic' rooms in the main house as well as the Villa, but they upgraded the extra rooms so that we could all be in the same building. Setting - it says a lot for the property that it was pouring with rain for most of our stay and we still had a fabulous time. The farm is rustic and gorgeous, with lavender bushes, a lemon orchard, and lovely meandering paths. The Villa: we rented a blend of the Villa and a couple of nearby rooms The bathrooms in the Villa: underfloor heating, old-school style but so lovely. Fires in some of the rooms: looking for that old-world falling asleep by firelight vibe? We had it... it's delightful. To give you an example of the type of experience you can have at Hawksmoor: while the rain poured outside we sat in the Villa with a cosy fire roaring. We booked beauty treatments with the Beauty Direct mobile spa, so whilst I had a reflexology treatment in front of the fire, my friends sat on the couch and Kerry (the manager) poured us 6 (or 7) tasting of the Hawksmoor wines. :)
Such minor things: it's off-season, so not everything is 100% polished (but I'm sure will be!). E.g. making sure the self-catering part has a full suite of implements, cups, bodum, etc. That's pretty much it!

I was blown away by the loveliness of Hawksmoor House and the kind, attentive service I received. I was only there for one night, but would love to return soon. I mentioned that I'm vegan and received the most delicious vegan breakfast, specially prepared by the chef. My room was beautifully decorated – a very calm and pleasing space to return to after a busy day in Stellenbosch. And the lounge/dining area in the manor house is gorgeous – overlooking a beautiful pond and well-maintained gardens. Everything was serene and inviting.

It’s amazing house super nice the serenity the views and all interior designing I love it,it has amazing atmosphere for a little escape
the location a bit further from stellenbosch center which is fine if u have a car or looking for a nice escape. The room needs some maintenance the bathtub water was yellow and the water was flowing at the sink. The swimming pool wasn’t clean and doesn’t give u the feeling to get in.

Wonderful stay, old farm house with charm. Room was large, great communal eating table so can chat to other travellers. Home cooked dinner first night was great and wonderful breakfast offering. Views of table mountain great and sunsets wonderful. Honesty bar with great wine, host cannot do enough for you, stay was great.
Only one thing, to make it clear that one room is directly off main communal space, so if you are not an early riser not the room for you.

A lovely spacious room with fresh flowers, complemented by a picturesque garden & historic homestead/buildings brimming with stories/history. Enjoyed a view of Table Mountain from afar. Breakfast offered a diverse selection, & the management was exceptional, ensuring a comfortable very welcoming experience. Kerry the manager was extremely hospital & went above & beyond, making us feel truly at home. Our stay was simply wonderful! No Loadshedding 24/7.
What is there “not to like”… Wonderful!!

The staff especially Avril were delightful. Wine good. Lovely room (map room). Most helpful. Next time I hope to book dinner on the premises. I did not quite gather that you have to book in advance to eat dinner and we had to drive to Stellenbosch for supper. Otherwise a really nice escape and a special place.
The pool did not seem clear and perhaps you can add another table of n the breakfast stoep

Our stay at Hawksmoor House was absolutely amazing, the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. Our room was very clean and I loved the French Vintage Decor Themed room. I really appreciated our room being cleaned everyday with fresh towels and bedding. Breakfast was fantastic, best part is we had breakfast outside enjoying the beautiful view. I would definitely book again.
