The rooms were spacious and well-appointed, and I had the pleasure of staying in the Presidential Suite. However, the biggest issue was the amount of light coming in at night through the two doors leading to the hallway, making the room not dark enough for a restful sleep.

Housekeeping was disappointing. Our verandahs were not cleaned, and the floor was still dirty from the previous guests. Additionally, housekeeping did not remove the dirty glasses from our room—we eventually had to place them in the hallway for them to be taken away. The bar staff could benefit from better training. They need to be more attentive and proactive in assisting guests. There’s a great opportunity to increase revenue if they occasionally check in to offer more drinks, rather than guests having to request service every time. Given the price paid, we expected a higher level of service.

Great location and set in beautiful vineyard and olive trees. Spacious grounds and the cottage had comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. Small pool for cooling but too small for a swim (5m length). Plenty of parking onsite and a great location for exploring vineyards of Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek.

The cottage lounge and dining area is quite cramped. As long as you are not spending a lot of time relaxing indoors it is okay. There is a nice large balcony. I thought the pool could have been bigger?

We went there me and my sisters just to take time out and celebrate us as women as it was a Women's Day. When we noticed that we were running late we called Calvin, who was very eager to assist us over the phone and ensured that all is well, and we must not panic. And when we finally got there, were struggled with our car, and the gentlemen at reception he helped with so much kindness. All we can say is that we are definitely going there again. Everything was just perfect, the bed, Wi-Fi , the rooms and we had everything we needed. Glasses, crockery, cutlery, pots and even an extra blanket in one of the wordropes. It was just perfect and value for money. and not forgetting that we liked the privacy. Your staff is AMAZING and SUPER friendly. Checking in and out was very easy.

Beautiful hotel! View is breathtaking, the pool and outside area are great, rooms are clean. You are about 10-15min by car from the center of Stellenbosch which is close enough for dinner but far enough to feel immersed in the nature and landscape.

There was a stain on the bedsheets when we checked into our room… the staff immediately had it replaced but I did find it a bit odd. Check out is at 10am although breakfast is until 10:30. Make sure to check out on time or you risk getting charged half a day extra for it.

Very nice hotel with superb location - nice view over the whole valley. It was beautiful. Rooms are ok though small bathroom. Nice pool area. Breakfast was very very nice with possibility to sit outside. Mr. Blessing was exceptional.

Be aware that the family rooms are not located in main building but appx. 700 mtr. from the building. Not nice. Staff was ok - but it is a 4**** hotel so you expect a certain kind of standard. Cleaning staff was hanging out by their cars and mopeds in the driveway after work. Furtheremore it is not nice to see the cleaning sitting and smoking outside the cottages, sitting on a pillow from one on the beds, waiting for people to check out :-(

We had a really nice stay at the hotel. The breakfast was very diverse and had a lot to offer. The interior design was cute and the garden pretty and a lovely maintained. We appreciated the recommendations for the wine tasting. Keep up the good work, next time we are there we will definitely come back!

It was nice that there was a spa offering but our room was quite full. Maybe at some point it would be possible to offer it in-house, in a separate area. On our way to the hotel we had some issues with the navigation. Our phone showed us kind of a back entrance but there was no entrance there. Maybe check that again. We would have wished for some blinds at the big windows/door in our room, because you could close the curtains and it was dark inside or you could leave them open and everyone could have taken a look inside.

Stunning location and great outlook. Cottages spacious with a small pool close by, handy for children. Staff were helpful and friendly. Shuttle was available to help with transport.

Location of cottages is a potential problem if no private car available as the walk to the main hotel is not easy for small children or persons with mobility problems. Considering these are self catering cottages the kitchen equipment is basic.

Nice building - we were actually thinking we will be based in the cottages based on the reviews on booking. But we were lucky and got a room at the Salene hotel (queen room with garden view). Was a very nice room, well equipped, nice balcony and view, and also the breakfast, pool, and parking were located closely to each other. The staff was very friendly and 1 nice guy (called “Happy”) was very kind and helped us with our luggage.

For some reason, even if it looked washed, the bed sheet pillows were yellow and had some stains. Same for the sun beds at the pool. Furthermore, breakfast is from 8-10 o’clock. We arrived at 9:30, and the staff did not seem to have any ambitions for re-fill. Even when asking explicitly for glasses to get the served juice, which were obviously empty, we had to ask several times. Moreover, when checking out, we had wine and fish of the day on the bill which we never had. Just when complaining about this the third time, we have reached a contact person at the reception being responsible.

Very quiet and peacefull location. Staff was very helpfull. The cottages i will definitely recommend to couples with children, loved the pool so close to the cottages.

As it was my 1st time visiting the hotel, it was a bit confusing because the 2 farms next to the main entrance names stood out clearly, but the Salena's name was covered with plants so you could not see it. It is a small thing but would have been nice to have seen the name instead of me having to turn around looking for the name.

The place was so quiet and peaceful, if you like to feel like you are away from all the hustle and bustle then this is the place for you, there is even a quiet time rule from 11pm. The gardens are beautiful with lots of chairs and day beds to lie on. The beds were super comfy, the aircon was great, breakfast was more of a cold meats and cheeses kind of affair but very tasty.

The only one thing I would maybe change is to put a single chair in the room, we felt like if we were indoors we had to be lying in bed because there was nothing else to sit on. There were two chairs outside the room but it was super windy the two nights we were there so we spent more time indoors then anything else.
