Jess on Reception is an absolute Rockstar! Nick the Manager has been super-cool with us.... we stay regularly... love the place... in my experience everything's been VERY clean and spruced up recently.... Zero issues on any of our stays :)

Beware of entering your car registration at front desk on the system.... any car on the car park that hasn't put their reg number in WILL get Parking fines of £60 (rising to £100) via the post... I got 2 and my partner got 1.... We hadn't realized we had to thumb the reg numbers in... wasn't something we've ever been used to.

Was a little reticent as I’d read the online reviews after booking. Totally the opposite. This hotel is two weeks old and has had a major refurb. The room was very clean. No dust on any high areas such as doors, frames or hanging area. The bathroom was really clean. Full length mirrors in the room plus hair dryer to compliment the overall experience. Bed was very comfy. Pillows were too hard for my liking but if I’d been fussed to go to reception, housekeeping would’ve provided softer pillows on request. Bar prices were pretty fair too. Overall the hotel was excellent plus the staff were so lovely especially reception who went out of her way to ensure that the evening went ahead without any problems. Bar staff were also very knowledgeable regarding drinks that were available. Will definitely book again. Bigger than normal tv.

No fridge in room but it was a standard so guess that’s not included. WiFi was £7 extra if you wanted to use your own Netflix account. Steep charge for one night. Bar staff did provide ice which was a nice touch.

Clean room, pleasant staff, room was modern and appeared to have been recently refurbished.

Dogs banged loudly if you didn't catch it straightaway to stop it, due to the fire closures on the doors; nowhere to hang towels in the bathroom [except for 1 hook on the back of the door] and no toilet roll holder of any sort, so on the floor, or the shelf behind the toilet, not ideal, plus our room was near to the rear of the bar, so a bit of noise from the bar equipment! These are minor criticisms, as overall the experience was good, but we think they're worth mentioning. That said, we've stayed in much more expensive hotels with more noise and other issues, so it is good value for money and a pleasant hotel to stay in.

Travelling from the highlands and I booked this while stopping at Lanark I worked out how far I could drive before needing to stop for the night on my trip to Wales, only to be asked for a passport and or a driving licence before I could get into the 2 rooms that I had already booked and paid for. Maybe it should have said this before taking the booking and certainly before I paid for the rooms. It certainly would have been easier to get a hotel in the uk as an illegal immigrant than being a citizen of Scotland. Maybe someone needs to look into the companies rules.

2 mins from local equestrian centre where we were all showing our dogs at a championship show Hotel just off motorway too

Restaurant facilities, given complimentary breakfast on 2nd morning due to 3 attempts at receiving the correct breakfast 9n 1st morning. the tea/coffee machine being luke warm and the fresh orange machine was not fresh orange, toaster not working properly, no side plates for toast had to use serviette and sausages too overcooked bordering.burnt. restaurant facilities unfortunately need improvements as felt a little like faulty towers. So we opted out of attending the evening meal.on night 2

The hotel seems to be have a update on the decorations . We was in one room and the hot tap wouldn't turn off and the cold wouldn't turn on but no one reported untill we went in house keeper didn't seem to realise when cleaning room. We didn't have a issue with them moving us rooms. The next room had been redecorated but it had been vandalised has in the shower area there was a fairly big hole in the panel area of the shower and the pull bit for the taps for it to go to shower was missing it did work but if they was two of having shower after each other then it was a bit difficult to turn it over. There no bath mat either and the house keeper didn't offer one the day after.

Recently refurbished with staff who are extremely helpful and friendly. Brilliant service from check in to breakfast. Special mention to Nick on reception who sorted us a room with a walk in shower. He couldn’t have been more helpful and the room was amazing. Brilliant service and conversation from Adrian behind the bar who also helped us with recommendations of where to eat locally. First class service at breakfast where chef cooks your breakfast to order. Couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Some teething troubles such as restaurant at night not yet open.

Nice room had double & single bed , plenty space , TV tea& coffee Bath & Shower All good

Would liked some bottled water or access to some chilled water as was a very hot day Also to have been warned about the horrific noise at 630am thought something had crashed I had my window open all night loud noise woke me , scarred me a bit looked out window i was near what i think was some sort of extraction ststem that must been started up . Very scary

Easy to park, looked impressive and tidy to drive into. Easy to find on the sat nav. Reception helpful, informative and pleasant. Asked for a quiet room with a bath which is what I got. Comfortable bed . Very satisfied with my experience

Unfortunately had a stumble on a step drop on the way down to reception. It blended in with the carpet and no handrail or visual alert to say it was there. The manager and I filled in an accident report

We arrived very late due to a dog show lasting longer than anticipated. The 2 gentleman on reception were excellent as there was a bit of confusion over the bookings. I had made bookings later in the day for friends on booking.com and due to technical issues in Stafford one of the bookings did not connect. The 2 gentleman who were working on reception worked very hard to get the matter sorted before the midnight deadline. Their professionalism was excellent.
