The hiking trails were my favorite with the amazing views and a waterfall. Our unit was so close to the playground and everything else. My 6 year old was so excited that there was so much to do. Everything was in excellent condition. We had dinner at the restaurant and took pizza to our room one night after many hours in the heated pool. We also did the Cathedral cave hike which was incredible( we were lucky as 30 April was the last day, opens in October), which was so close the Kiara lodge. We loved the location.

Activities were great but we didn’t use the paddle boats because we had to go to reception to get life jackets and after hiking all 3 trails that’s a big ask. There was a beautiful rock wall and didn’t look like it’s in use. I loved the butternut soup at the restaurant but it was the same soup all 3 nights. Would have liked to see atleast 1 or 2 edits to the specials at the restaurant. However the service, quality and quantity of the meals were great. Try the lamb curry potjie 😋. Kiara lodge should email us the activities for kids before we get there, so that we can plan around it. We missed all activities in the daily program but still had a blast. Also the gorge is closed what’s the plans around that, the beautiful waterfall is the best kept secret of the property.

I liked the fact that our accommodation had a fire place and the house was warm form my kids, play area and swim area kept my kids really busy. The staff who looks after the kids in play area, life guides at reach. It was an awesome place and I am going to book it again.

Kiara Lodge is beautiful, relaxing, well maintained and has alot to do. We spent part of our honeymoon there 28yrs ago.. And it's changed alot but was lovely. Highly recommend Kiara Lodge.

Only two things that would be nice is although the unit caters for two.. To maybe have double crockery and cutlery would make it easier to function in the kitchen. Also wood could be more fairly priced considering it's cold and you use about a bag a night.

Our family holiday was absolutely wonderful, especially for the kids! Everything was conveniently located and within easy reach, making it so stress-free for us as parents. The kids had plenty of activities to keep them entertained, and all the facilities were close by. The layout of the place was incredibly well thought out, with everything placed just where you needed it. It truly made our family getaway seamless and enjoyable for everyone!

Not permitting cash payments, even if they could be limited to a lower, less risky amount, seems restrictive.

The environment, the quietness and to really feel how relaxing the resort is. We love the scenery, how well the place is looked after and to just enjoy the activities and surroundings.

Firstly the book-in time of 15h00 is a bit late for us, as you do pay for a full day already but can only access the resort from 15h00. Then also need to be out by 10h00 are not making sense. Another thing is the fact that you can not use wood at the braai area at your chalet, this is really a moment killer for me.

Kiara Lodge really exceeded my expectation. Room was comfy and was very surprised with the sleeper-couches. The shower was excellent, loved the shower head and water pressure. Facilities in great condition and my daughter loved the indoor pool. We enjoyed the short hikes and wish we had time to do the longer ones. The restaurant food is excellent, especially the prawn casserole, yum yum!! Went for a spa and it was exceptional. Thanks for great service!!

Chalets: Perfect. Rooms are clean and packed with all the essentials needed at a resort. Lodge: Family and kid-friendly, it offers everything, serenity, views, games, great food, etc. Worth every penny. I loved it. Shout out to Welile, in the reception area, very warm and welcoming.

The lodge executives should consider having an outdoor swimming pool with cold water, the heated pool can be quite warm on sunny days. This past weekend was hot so it was unbearable to be inside the heated pool. Otherwise, great place. 100% recommend.

The Resort is beautiful, clean and has everything you need in a family vacation home. It has great facilities and activities for families with small kids, it’s central to everything you need in Clarens. We loved the indoor heated pools as we arrived late afternoon but my son got to play in the water till late which was great and the lifeguard was very friendly and helpful. The games room is awesome, especially the one inside the restaurant as I could enjoy my meal while my 4yr old son entertained himself with with little supervision needed. The food is really good and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and helpful, good communication throughout, there’s lots to do for excursion activities and reasonably priced as well. We went to the Golden Gate for breathtaking views, boat paddling in the lodge dam and horseback riding tour across the road at Extreme Adventure.

Great facilities, especially for kids! Location is fantastic, and there's lots to do for everyone. The rooms are well equipped and cleaned very well. Great management. I hope it stays strong!

The convenience store is a bit pricey, and they don't show the costs per item in the shelves. So when you go to pay for a couple of items you are slightly shocked Since it is mostly self-catering, just make sure you take your own supplies ;)

Facilities and location. Kids loved the warm swimming pool. The area was clan and open and fantastic for taking a walk. The staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. The view from the room was great.

No air conditioning. The room was for four people but the lounge converted bedding is a poor choice and quite hard and uncomfortable. Floor was very cold. Also encountered a large baboon outside the door shortly after arrival and my eldest daughter was reluctant to go outside after that without her father, so limited her adventure
