Mont d'Or is a fabulous boutique hotel. The rooms are neat & clean. Very peaceful & quiet, Away from the hustle & bustle in town.We had a weekend stay for our anniversary & the view from our room on the top floor was awesome. The bed is comfortable & warm, electric blanket for the chilly evenings. There is an extra blanket if needed. Dinner (fillet steaks) were very tasty, the food overall was delicious. If you prefer something light & light lunches, you can request. Breakfast buffet was awesome, plenty of variety & eggs can be done any way you like, ask the waiters. We received beautifully decorated cupcakes for woman's day, nice surprise... a lovely anniversary card & apple jam. It's the little things like this, that matter. The staff are friendly & attentive. Thank you Jordan & staff for the wonderful stay. We will be back again.

The property is beautiful and so are the bedrooms, everything is thought of, there are even fireplaces in the top floor bedrooms which really helped with the cold.

The only thing I can negatively comment on is the breakfast. There needs to be more thought put into the breakfast offering, especially for a place like this. After staying in the beautiful rooms and having an amazing dinner, the night before breakfast was a real letdown. It was definitely not up to standard. More options are needed for those that don't eat pork, and the cappuccino from the coffee machine is ghastly and not up to the standard expected. You need to be able to offer omelets, eggs fried not just soft etc.

Awesome check-in experience, they notic3d that my hubby is disabled and moved us to a more disabled friendly room. They sorted out nice parking as well.

I was a little disappointed it was not IN Clarens, but close by, but as it turned out that was better for us as Clarens was so busy so very difficult with a disabled person to find parking and walk around. The dining room was very cold, we were placed right in fron of the fire, but it was really cold for the other guests. The atmosphere in the dining room could be improved by candles and soft furnishing like plants, pictures on the walls. It was like a school dining hall. Food was below average, Breakfast was good.

It was served in a lovely, light-filled dining room with a stunning view of the surrounding mountains. The selection was diverse, featuring freshly baked pastries, cheeses, cold cuts, fruits, and bread. There was also a delicious hot breakfast, including eggs, bacon, and more. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring everything was replenished promptly. Room: The room I stayed in was cozy and well-appointed. It had a rustic charm with modern touches that made it feel both inviting and comfortable. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I slept soundly each night. The room was spacious and included all the amenities I needed, from a well-stocked minibar to a lovely bathroom with a shower. The decor was tasteful, and there was a warm, welcoming atmosphere throughout the hotel. View: The view from the hotel was absolutely breathtaking. The peaceful surroundings and proximity to nature made for a relaxing stay, and I enjoyed taking in the scenery throughout my time at the hotel. Overall, Mont d'Or Hotel provided an outstanding experience. The combination of excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and incredible views made it a perfect getaway spot. I highly recommend this hotel.

Our stay at Mont d'Or Hotel in Clarens was a delightful experience. The staff, specifically the manager on duty, was extremely attentive and ensured that our stay was comfortable. While quaint and in a small holiday town, the Mont d'Or Hotel and its staff provided a world-class experience. The buffet breakfast was surprisingly good, with a wide variety of traditional fare that seemed to be closely monitored for top-ups to ensure everything was fresh (even if you nipped in closer to the end of breakfast, which we did on the second day). At every instance, the staff was extremely friendly and the service was faultless. The room was clean, well appointed and looked as it was in the photos.

Ensure that you request a room on the upper floors as the lowest level faces the parking lot, which may feel a bit exposed to noise/foot traffic if that is something you are sensitive to. This is more a preference than a complaint.

The staff is lovely and friendly, shout out to Miriam and Lebo at reception. Suggestions: 1. PLEASE renovate the dinning area? The wooden chairs and tables are rather uncomfortable, especially for people like me with a back injury. 2. PLEASE stock up enough alcohol. The wine list is rather limited and Bisquit was the only cognac available. My partner couldn't enjoy himself because you didn't have other options like Hennesy. Thank you for a lovely stay.

it was a very relaxing and comfortable weekend. Staff are very friendly and helpful, room is very comfortable. room service is huge bonus, will definitely recommend this place, and we will be back soon. loved that the owners are onsite and hands on...personal touch makes a huge difference

i just had a issue with us staying upstairs, where no kids are allowed, but there was a child, boy about 10 years old, that constantly came upstairs and peep into your room etc, playing on the terrace etc, very annoying

Honest and reliable staff …. I lost a pen (import net to me ) and when I asked the next day they brought it to me because one of the staff picked it up the previous day !!

Not that I didn’t like something - I’d love them to have a library room with a fireplace to sit and read books (quiet room) … it’s only the bar / Tv room and the dining room.

The dinner was amazing!!! We had different dishes for the different nights we spent there and all the dishes were cooked to absolute perfection. Cudos to the chef. The staff is very friendly including the managers, we were received so well and made to feel comfortable. I loved how the staff were always eager to answer our questions about the place and even gave us suggestions on places to visit for sightseeing. They were all so warm, helpful and efficient

The breakfast was a little too dry but the experience was so good, it made up for everything

Good location with a beautiful view for the mountain facing rooms. Very friendly staff and management made us feel right at home. Management made adjustments on short notice to meet our personal needs. We experienced a warmth that was sincere and hart-felt.

The cupboard space in the room is too little. For more than one guest per room, provide at least two of the current cupboards in the room. A luggage bench would have been nice too.
