Our stay at Ash River Lodge was combined with business and pleasure. The lodge was easy to find and our room was very comfortable. The views were awesome and what's so great is that our rooms had direct access to the open terrace which we used to do some work at and also to enjoy the scenery with a glass of wine. The breakfast was great and value for money. We will definitely recommend this Guest house BB to everyone and will definitely stay with them again.

We would of liked a small desk /writing table in the room to be able to work from- in the room late in the evenings.

Modern, relaxed atmosphere with breathtaking views. Loved the garden view (room 5) and the deck view with breakfast. Good amenities and the little extras (chocolates & OBs) made it extra special. Breakfast was tasty and good spread.. Clarens been cold, extra blankets and electric blankets were welcomed.

Riding a motorcycle, not knowing to take a level road (Park st) to the lodge. Drove down van Reenen street with bike was a bit challenging. (Gravel). The lodge & staff were awesome and the dirt road in an instant forgotten.

The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated. We had two rooms close together, on the same level as reception. My parents had a room with a bathroom for disabled which was very helpful as they are both in their 80's. The breakfast was ample, served on the wonderful terrace/balcony with the most stunning view of the mountains. There is also a nice common lounge inside the house by reception. Ash River Lodge is easy to find, just past the town center with lots of secure parking. Sue was very helpful checking us in and out, and gave great local recommendations for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was great! The views were immaculate, and the staff were extremely friendly and assisting! So comfy and nicely decorated! Such easy access to the property, so you can come and go as you please!

Just the shower water pressure was a bit inconsistent, otherwise everything else was perfect for our stay!

Breakfast was disappointing. There was no tea offered at breakfast. Needs more variety. Staff could have been more friendly. Made you feel rushed when they came with a basin to clear the table.

The breakfast was amazing but the host she was amazing. She called us and waited for us to arrive in the wee hours of the morning. So lovely and kind really to our shock. The rooms are cleaned very quickly. Its peaceful and very close to town, as in like 2 minutes to town if not less.

Ash River Lodge is a family-run B&B located just outside of central Clarens. The rooms are clean and comfortable, there is secure parking and a breakfast is provided every morning. The walls are a bit thin, but noise wasn't an issue when we stayed because only one other room was occupied. Perfectly fine for a short stay.

I had a wonderful stay at the lodge, I loved it from the moment I walked in. I received a very warm welcome from the host and the staff were very friendly and professional. The lodge has breathtaking views and a well taken care of garden. My room was cosy and had everything I needed. With the price I paid, the lodge definitely exceeded my expectations.

The owner and staff were very welcoming and very friendly right throughout the stay. Breakfast was tasty. Rooms were comfortable. Location was great as it was so central to everything, the town and also hike entrances. I'd definitely come back to Ash River Lodge.

Beautiful garden. Walking distance from shops and restaurants. Lovely breakfasts. The town is lovely and there is lots to see and do.

Clarens is very hot in January and the only thing we did not like was the fact that there was no pool to cool off in.
