The accommodation was inviting and welcoming. We loved the fireplace, burning it every night as it was very cold. The location was perfect—right in the village, allowing us to step out into the buzz of the area. The heated electric blankets were a highlight; they were already on and toasty upon our arrival, making us feel right at home.

The accommodation wasn’t fully set up for self-catering. We needed a can opener, but there wasn’t one available. By the time we cooked, it was too late to buy one. The lady informed us that there was a can opener by the mugs, but we couldn’t find it despite searching every cupboard. Additionally, the lighter ran out on the second night. However, they did provide a new lighter the following day, which was appreciated.

Great communication for check in. There was a mix up with our booking through Booking.com, however this was quickly sorted by the staff at 278 promptly when identified prior to check in. The rooms were spacious and well equipped. Great central location. Easy walking to all of the shops and restaurants. Felt safe walking home. Lovely stay, would for sure stay again if in the area. Thank you!

Ceiling fan did not work in both rooms booked, but there was an alternative fan provided.

Cleanliness, quietness and proximity to restaurants and shopping areas. The environment is safe and friendly. The bed is so huge and comfy, the same goes to the bathroom having both a bathtub and a full body shower.

Struggled to find a dustbin inside and outside. Since breakfast is not offered, a kitchen area would be beneficial for one to prepare own food/breakfast. Winter sheets now in April coming into May would really be beneficial since the cold season is dawning.

Breakfast is absolutely delicious! The staff is very friendly and helpful. 278 is central and within close proximity and walking distance to most shops and restaurants in Clarens. A huge thank you to Michelle who is the most hospitable hostess. We travelled by motorcycle and Michelle went out of her way to ensure our stay was most enjoyable. A huge thanks Michelle and staff, for accommodating "all our stuff" so we could make the most of our visit to beautiful Clarens!

The breakfast was amazing and what a bonus to not have to worry about what or where to eat first thing in the morning! Having a few different options to choose from is also an added bonus as it keeps everyone happy!

Absolutely nothing could have been better! This was our second stay at 278 on Main and it exceeded our expectations once again!

Accommodation is perfectly positioned to walk around Clarens. Lovely spacious rooms with large comfortable beds. Extra blankets to warm up with while sitting outside in a secluded entertainment area. Awesome awesome place.

They had shampoo, conditioner, hand cream, hand soap, hairdryer, the works, but couldn't find any body soap, hahahaha

I liked everything about 278 on Main. Our bedroom was Topaz. 1. The staff is super friendly, and their communication is very good. 2. You get all the necessary information about the accommodation, its facilities, and Clarens as a whole in the form of little notes and a little book found inside the room. 3. The room gave rustic luxury vibes, and I must say, it is quite spacious. They also have beautiful aesthetics. For a moment, it makes you feel like you're at one of these private safari lodges. You only realise when you step outside that you're actually in a town. 4. There are sufficient toiletries in the bathroom. Ps, the bath oil was a winner for me. 5. The breakfast was scrumptious. I love that they have variety. As a result, many diets can be accommodated. 6. There is sufficient tea, coffee, sugar, and milk in the bedroom. 7. Strong wifi connection.

1. Insufficient DStv channels. Well, this isn't too bad because it allows for more human interaction. And to explore Clarens more.

278 is a lovely place with friendly, happy and helpful staff. We absolutely loved that bath oils and bath foam was provided and it was a welcome treat after a day's travel and seeing the sites in Clarens. I loved parking my car and walking everywhere I wanted to in the central parts of the town. Sue is an excellent hostess and I loved that I could ask her anything about Clarens. We will definitely be back and next time we will bring friends. Thank you 278 for a lovely stay.

Loved the location stayed here before as you can just walk everywhere but yet still not noisy,

LOL the chimming of the church bell every hour and half hour but suppose it adds to the charm of the town

Location was great, staff very friendly and room value for money, it’s not 5 star great for a short stay, that said we didn’t pay a 5 star price.

All was great for the price we paid
