The location of Tingala Lodge is super, close to Phalaborwa gate yet still in the wilderness. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and very clean. Beds are comfy and musquito nets are installed. The bath room is nice as well, with lots of space and it is spotless. The staff of Tingala Lodge is fantastic. They are very service minded. Huge “thank you!” for Rose, Peter, Shpini and Tom for their hospitality and service. Great job folks. We really enjoyed our visit. I hope that with this review I am able to convince other travelers to book this accommodation. And do not stay for just one night but book a few nights or even a week like we did and really wind down and get away from day to day business. The location with the water hole where wild life and birds visit the whole day, the breakfast, thr night skies and the campfire it is all worth the trip.

Nothing!

This is a truly unforgettable destination and we highly recommend it to you. Tom, Peter and Siphwe are superb and make guests feel so welcome, they looked after us so well. We sought an authentic destination alongside Kruger and that is what we got, we were so pleased with everything. Our room was located off the front veranda, it is so peaceful with wild animals and birds coming to the site and the watering hole, it was blissful and we were so disappointed when the time to leave came. The breakfast was perfect, with top quality food served each morning. One evening we had bbq, the local town has a Woolworths and lots of other shops (everything you could need). It has a lovely rustic swimming pool which is ideal for relaxing. The rooms are spotless clean and the bathrooms spacious. They arranged our two Kruger safari days for us, they were amazing, Tingala is really near the gate to the National Park, so you can maximise your time in the park rather than travelling to it. Tom’s recommendations for sightseeing in the region were perfect, it’s a beautiful part of the world and we will never forget this experience. We sincerely hope to return one day to meet you all again and to enjoy your magical place again. If you decide to visit Tingala you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely nothing

The location was very ideal for relaxing, away from everything and everyone, so tranquil and peaceful all you could hear were birds chirping and animals. Had a lovely braai there.

The pool was not so clean and it was not safe too, a bit slippery. The so called manager came there and could not even say a mere " HELLLO" to us. They only have 3 swimming pool chairs which were not enough for all their visitors or clients, we were about 10 there so they were just not enough. The kitchen is also not convenient for all the visitors, there is no way we could all use one kitchen at the same time. the taps in the bathrooms were like dull, not shinny to make it look squeaky clean.

I loved the quietness and isolation. The feeling of being amongst nature is very good. The staff were excellent and even happy to light up a braai (barbecue) for my own use.

There was no major wildlife appeared however, this is nature and I totally get this. I took a wrong turning on the way out so perhaps better signage may help.

Peter was amazing, from the pleasant welcoming to the fire prepared at night, to coffee on the deck and an excellent breakfast. We were very pleased to have the whole place to ourselves for the night (other guests were waylaid). The room was excellently made up and very comfortable.

It wasn't all that clear that you needed to self cater for the night as the road to town would be difficult in the dark if you wanted to go to a restaurant.

We found the atmosphere at Tingala very relaxed, informal and quiet. With only a handful of rooms at the lodge, there were very few other guests around even though the lodge was fully booked. The pool was lovely and positioned discretely around the corner from the main guest area. The rooms were clean and spacious. The air-conditioning was very welcome. The staff were friendly and helpful. Very good value for money. A great place to overnight for a day or two before proceeding on to the Kruger Park.

The lodge it's situated in a good place, it's so quiet and peaceful, beautiful lodge and the staff are so friendly.

One needs to check in during the day, as there is no one at the gate and it may not be safe to open the gate for oneself. And there was no linen like mattress cover.
