The young lady staff at the Reception Counter who checked us in was very friendly, very helpful and cheerful. She assisted us in booking for a taxi to take us to Seongsan Ilchulbong as well as recommended us a very nice gimbab takeaway for our morning breakfast. The room is quite spacious and there is cable TV for entertainment. The washing machine in the room was definitely a bonus if one is staying for a few nights. Do note that Guests need to purchase their own detergent as well request for a clothes drying rack from the reception to facilitate the drying process. The small kitchen provides additional washing-up space if the bathroom is occupied and the induction cooker allows one to cook simple dishes except that pots, plates, cutleries are not provided. The CU convenience store in front or back of the hotel allows one to enjoy supper or purchase basic necessities, top-up your T-Money card or when restaurants / groceries stores are closed later part of the night. Hotel Rest Seogwipo is less than a 10 minutes walk to Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market. The abc Mart and similar chain stores are great for those who plan to purchase Adidas, Nike, etc. sneakers. There are plentiful eateries within a 5-minutes walking distance as well as a Nong Hyup Hanaro Supermart. We had a Black Pork n beef Bbq as well as a Grilled Seabream and sea urchin soup dinners at 2 nearby eateries, The food was good and reasonably priced, less than KRW 50,000 for 2 persons. If you are travelling by bus to Jungmun, Osulloc Tea Plantation, etc the hotel is within a 5-8 minutes walking distance to the various bus stops. All in all, my Wife and I really enjoyed our 3-nights stay in Hotel Rest Seogwipo and will choose the hotel again if we do return for another trip. Some tips for travellers who plan to purchase Adidas or Nike sneakers in Jeju. The price of sneakers at abc Mart in Seogwipo was much more cheaper than in Jeju City. Luckily I purchased 2 pairs of Nike sneakers in Seogwipo.

There wasn't anything that we didn't like about Hotel Rest Seogwipo or our stay there. Rather, we hope that the Management would strive to further enhance the Guests' experience at the hotel by providing the following additional items: 1. Bath mat in front of the bathroom door. 2. Basic cooking utensils n cutleries like a small pot or pan, some cutleries and 2 small bowls. 3. Proper bath towels. The ones provided are just slightly longer than face towels. 4. 3-in-1 Coffee / Tea satchets. 5. Extra pillows without additional charges. The ones provided are too thin to support our head. 6. Ironing board.

The location is excellent. Close to the Seogwipo Olle Market, with shops selling delicious Korean cooking and jook just a few steps down and a convenience store next door. The facilities are worth the economical price of the room. The breakfast was good enough for 4000 won, self service fried eggs, bread and coffee and local tea. No coffee and tea in the rooms, though there is a kettle. The housekeeping team tidied the room, replenished two bottles of water and four towels (hand towel sized but very absorbent) daily. We were provided two laundry detergent sheets at the start of our four day stay.

The parking lots are small and limited and are filled by evening. It’s a bit stressful for us foreigners who do not how to look for legit parking lots along the roadside.

The room was really spacious, the bathroom was equipped with shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. They cleaned and changed the towels every day. They also provided bottled water every day. The hotel was ~8 mins walking from central bus stations, so it is convenient if you come from the airport by public bus. Right at the hotel corner was a CU convenient store. The hotel was in walking distance (~15-20 mins) from Cheonjiyeon Waterfalls which you can also visit at night! The size of the bed was comfortable. Electric kettle was provided in the room. We ordered breakfast for 3 mornings, it was self-service, but just enough. One type of soup, toast, butter, jam, eggs, cereal, milk, modern coffee machine and tea was provided each day. 4000 won/person is a really great price for it. Everybody kept the kitchen tidy.

Before arrival they messaged the rules of the hotel and it said you can book breakfast until 22:00, but it was actually 19:00. They staff spoke only a little english, so it was better to use translator app at the front desk.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and was happy I chose it. I felt at home in my room which was spacious and peaceful. It had good natural light and was well ventilated. Everything was clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable and the shower worked fine. Each day I was provided with fresh towels and water - but there is also a water dispenser on the reception floor in case you don’t want to use single-use plastic bottles. I liked that the hotel also offered breakfast, though I didn’t take this option. Also they sell a variety of local craft beers which can be difficult to find in other shops. The location was good for me as I was on foot. It was near to bus stops as well as places within the city. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall I had a very good stay and would definitely recommend the Hotel Rest for any stay in Seogwipo City. Thank you to all the team for making it comfortable and memorable for me.

Loved that the room had a washing machine and was spacious family twin. Location was perfect for me to walk 10min to Seogwipo Maile Ollie market or longer 30min walk (or you can take bus) to the 2 waterfalls. Also convenient to take bus to Seongpanak hiking trail or Jeju Airport. Parking available if one needs (I didn’t) and the staff was helpful with assistance of Google translate. Also really appreciated that they were environmentally friendly (ie only place I’ve been that separated food waste recycling and garbage).

A good central location on the southern coast, and nice island-life vibe compared to Jeju City area. You can easily see Jusangeolli cliffs, Oedolgae sea stack, Cheonjiyeon waterfall, and Jeongbang waterfall, Saeyeongyo, Hwanguji, and Seogwipo Maeil Olle market nearby. Hotel is a simple and comfortable place to rest at end of a day sightseeing.

The breakfast offered had sparse options and was self-prepare and cleanup, ended up not utilizing this amenity.

The location was great - short walk to key buses and great restaurant selection. The room had all the basics including a washer, and Netflix which was great for the heavy rain days. A limited breakfast was available where you needed to cook your own eggs and wash the dishes. Unusual set-up but worked well for us. The staff were readily available and helpful and we found it overall very comfortable.

There were mosquitos in the room (perhaps through the drains?) that found us nearly every night despite screens on the windows.

The staff where very helpful. Even offered to stay late for a check in.

The room did not feel the cleanist and was pretty run down. Fair bit of noise outside. Odd rim layout has a kitchen but your not allowed to cook.

The hotel has elevator. On 2nd floor is reception counter, water dispenser,. toilet, luggage storage area. Rooftop is nice with many chairs. It is like a studio apartment with everything in it (stove, cup, kettle, hair dryer, toilet slippers) but the washing machine is too big that caused the toilet door cannot open wide but that is fine. The locking system is good. There is a shoe rack. You should bring your own slippers. Have sufficient space for luggage and walking around within the unit. There is a laundry hanger. There are enough clothes hangers. Bed is big and comfortable for 1 person. Met 3 staff and they are all very helpful and courteous. Short walking distance to buses to different locations. There is a newly opened CU convenience store just next to the building on the right side. There are restaurants within walking distance once out of building on right side.

Pillow can be thicker. Should have clear instruction for heater temperature.

They have limited parking space but the staffs were kind enough to guide us on how to park on the roadside. We went back after 9PM and the parking already full. But we got a nearby roadside parking, its safe and you will not be compound for parking there. We arrived early and asked for early check-in but the staffs said additional charge is required. Lucky theres coffee shop nearby so we just hang out there before the check in time at 3PM.
