Breakfast was great, location was also optimal for the office I had to work at. Room was sized appropriately and had a decent working space.

Bed could have been more comfortable. The room turning off when no one was inside was also not an appreciated feature. I had devices that needed charging during the day and my husband is sensitive to temperature, so he didn't like coming back to a warm room. The man who initially checked us in was a bit unpleasant but literally everyone else we talked to was lovely.

The room we were in had comfortable beds. It had a good amount of space. My wife felt safe in the room as well while I was at a meeting. The housekeeping staff were fantastic and took very good care of the room. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic and at a high restaurant level. Having breakfast helped me get through the day especially when the weather was very hot (there was a heat dome over Spain for a few days of our stay). I didn't have to worry about having lunch so soon. The hotel was located not far from the Barcelona Metro, the tram, or buses. Also there was a taxi stand next to the hotel.

My wife would have preferred to have some TV stations in English though she did use her iPad quite a bit as we had electrical converters with us. The bed could have been better as my wife and I are not fans of foam mattresses.

The staff was super nice! The breackfast was really good and the pool made all the difference on warm days. Calm and nice neighborhood. The room smelled lovely and clean everyday.

Our room was located below the pool, so very early in the morning you could hear the filter motor. Wouldn't bother heavy sleepers but that was not the case for us. Although it was 10 min walk from multiple public transportations, it was still a bit far from city center, we would never take less than 10 min walk to the bus and other 15 min to the city center. Still good enought though.

Rooms were good, and there was a bit of confusion with the booking but staff are great and resolved with no issue. I think gentlemans name was Mina at front desk, he is a real gem! Hotel looked clean.

Restaurant - breakfast very good, lots of choices. However, we had dinner once and would never go back. We ordered pizza and it was the worst pizza i ever had. It was swimming in oil! Bar staff - very unprofessional! We asked for some ice (few cubes) and barman said they dont have enough and told us to go and get ice from the shop! This was shocking customer service to me! Paying more than €220 a night and this is what staff is telling you! Even if you don’t have enough, i guess few ice cubes would not do a big harm. Needs training on customer service and satisfaction.

The Golden Hotel Barcelona is a spacious, modern, and clean hotel, worth its four ****. It is on a quiet side street near the renovated metro station Glòries. It is easily accessible from the Catalunya square with metro line L1. There are also new stops for trams and buses on the square. Abundant breakfast. The area is under development, but it has a good atmosphere. We had a spacious room with good beds, a good wardrobe, televison and a nice bathroom with a good shower. One cleans the room every morning, and there is free WIFI. Friendly staff handles the reception during the day and at night. Recommended for those who do not want to be in the crowded city centre but want to be there quickly, by public transport or on foot.

Great location, close to the major attractions and transport links. There is a big mall nearby for shopping. The hotel has a decent breakfast buffet. My room was very bright and cozy. Wifi was very reliable through the duration of my stay (it is a hit and miss for me during my travels). Basically, everything I needed for a solo trip.

Spain appears to have very specific garbage sorting guidelines. My room had 5 different bins, and I was confused sometimes what goes where. AC was also great, rather quiet if left running overnight on low fan. Several times my room lost electricity for few seconds - I suspect a circuit breaker flipped on/off. But it did not cause any problems, just a nuance.

Staff was nice, explained in detail every facility that we had access to. Great access to public transport and in walking distance to different places of interest. Unlike other places we visited, the neighborhood was quiet and not full of people at all.

Nothing worth mentioning - maybe the pool opening time which is a bit too late to catch a morning sunbath, but other than that, nothing at all.

breakfast is fantastic, more than expected. dinner also excellent, but we didn't like the a la carte concept, the wait is too long like in every restaurant. It is better not to pay for half board in order to have dinner in the hotel restaurant every night. The location of the hotel is excellent if you want to be a little separated from the crowds where there are many tourists. Nearby there are restaurants, caffe,bar.. shopping centers... Taxi to the city center €5-7. Extremely clean and tidy hotel. It smells beautiful. The pool on the roof is great. The staff throughout the hotel are extremely friendly. All recommendations.

Staying at this was a delightful experience overall. The hotel offered spacious and impeccably clean rooms that provided a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring the city. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the delicious breakfast spread served each morning. From fresh fruits to warm pastries, there was something to satisfy every palate.

One small suggestion for improvement would be the inclusion of one-time-use slippers in the rooms, as the floors could feel chilly at times. However, this minor inconvenience was easily overlooked considering the overall quality of our stay. While the staff, in general, could be more welcoming and friendly, we found the ladies working in the breakfast area to be exceptionally warm and accommodating. Their genuine smiles and helpful demeanor added a personal touch to our mornings and set a positive tone for the day ahead.

We booked a twin bed room.The overall aesthetic of the hotel is really nice with friendly reception. We absolutely adored the comfortable beds and the showers' pressure. Although we didn't have many meals at the hotel's restaurant, dinner and brunch was tasty and a value for money choice for those who had a busy day exploring the city.

The hotel is located in a nice area, mostly surrounded by hotels, it gets really quiet after a certain hour. With a few options of dining, you might need to walk a 10- 15 minute distance to have more choices regarding restaurants and bars. The location I'd say is far away from the main attractions.There is a metro station nearby but if exploring by foot is your thing,you might want to reconsider. The only downside is the lack of good soundproofing.
