I am absolutely sure that I would stay at this hostel again!!! The hostel itself is located in such a way that almost all tourist attractions can be reached by simply walking. Inside is clean, clean rooms and clean showers. There is a kitchen: enough space for cooking and snacking; there is a stove, microwave, toaster and refrigerator. Cutlery and all dishes are also available. If you want to have a snack in the fresh air, go to the terrace, where you can sit under a large umbrella. The metro station is a 5-minute walk from the hostel. The nearest 24-hour convenience store can be found right next to the entrance, and a regular supermarket is a 6-minute walk away. And now the most important thing: STAFF. All employees are very friendly and speak English. They made this stay in Paraiso much better than I expected. If you need help, they will gladly try to help and give advice on where to go and how to find the right route. Well, and if you need the hairdryer, you can ask at the reception. I am very grateful to the staff of this hostel for their good mood and flexibility. They are cool :)

The only thing I didn't like was that there are a lot of people outside who don’t seem and don’t act friendly to you. You shouldn't walk in this area at night. Or you shouldn't walk out at night alone. However, this does NOT apply to the hostel itself. It's absolutely safe and quiet inside!!! The sounds from the street will not disturb you

Very good location. Near bus and metro. The backyard terrace is awesome to relax on summer nights. 24h service market on the building. Staff was always available to help. Facilities are good for the price. Simple but functional.

A note to the bath near the rooms in the back that need some improvement on water drain. Nothing serious. Just a note.

The beds were comfortable to sleep in. The location is great. There is a terrace that works till 10pm. We could keep our bags after check-out time for free till our departure.

The bedsheets could be cleaner.

The room for two was very spacious, the beds were quite comfortable, everything was new and clean. TV was a nice bonus, there are also two fans but we didn’t use them. The 24-hour reception was great—it’s good to know that there is still somebody to take care of stuff and order, keen to help, and give a lovely smile :). There is also a free-of-charge luggage room where you can leave your stuff prior to or after your stay.

Nothing. Maybe I would appreciate more shelves for personal belongings, but that’s a tiny detail.

The staff is very helpful. It is very clean. You can use a lounge and kitchen area. Our room was facing the bathroom,which could have some noise produced. The room is basic but very clean. The mattresses were a bit hard for our liking. The glass of the window is matted if in casa you are claustrophobic. We were not told there was an additional fee and found out on arrival. The staff were incredibly helpful, accommodating us with keeping our luggage until the evening on our day out free of charge. Thank you.

If you need a softer mattress , just be aware.

It felt like an old fashioned hostel, not a trendy 8 story meat factory or rockin chick n shed full of privileged youth complaining about what's missing, all the while un-ironically hauling around heaps of 'essential' luggage, but without hairdryer, towel, coffee maker... just lots and lots of clothes, boots, shoes, makeup, shoes..., and whatever else one needs in Barcelona. The San Pau location was close and convenient to much in the lower central district, a short walk from the Ramblas and Sagrada Familia. Local eateries and watering holes were more economical, more bohemian than Gracias. It felt a little like home, on the edge of a South Asia sector with great curries and other tasty foods for take away. The building was old, but not really old (mid-late 19th C), so it didn't have the (pricier) polished classical elegance of other upscale hostels in the Gracias neighborhood. But it had practical character as a residence for everyday people (like me, five months into my 6 month trip), as well as serving as a hostel. The common area felt like a family living where I could read my novel while drinking a beer and munching on chips. Everyone minded their own business. However I enjoyed a nice conversation with a pleasant young person who seemed happy to chat. Staff were pleasant without being manic salespeople; simple smiles and steady service. I quite enjoyed the stay and will return after Andalusia.

There was nothing out of the ordinary that I could point to as a negative. My bed didn't even squeak.

I really like the staff, and the equipments and the place is very clean and warm! Besides, it's near to metro station and to Lidl market!! I like the staff, they are very kind and explain to you everything!! This hostel will be for sure my next booking reservation when i come back to Barcelona!!

I suggest to put a mini carpet in front of WC!!

Great location not far from the center and the airport bus stop, the room was comfy and featured a desk, full length mirror, lockers with combinations you can set yourself so you don’t need to bring your own lock, and a bathroom.

The space itself is pretty small and the hostel doesn’t offer social activities as far as I know.
