The building is a beautiful architectural structure, very well rennovated and maintained. The rooms have 15 foot arched ceilings. The indoor spa is a wonderful treat on really hot days when everything is shut down for siesta. The outdoor pool is like a miniature lake, fed by ground water. The staff are attentive and food facilities are good quality. Parking is convenient. Would highly recommend to those traveling by car as there is easy access to the city with the benefit of a retreat to get away.

The hot and cold breakfast is wonderful. Little more variability in the staple items would be nice for those who come for longer stays.

The hotel’s grounds are so big and beautiful — we loved strolling around together as a family, and even our dog had the best time exploring! The pool was an absolute joy in the hot weather, and the breakfast selection gave us the perfect start to each day. It truly felt like a place where we could relax together.

We did face some maintenance issues during our stay. The jacuzzi bathtub in our suite released black particles whenever we used the jacuzzi mode, which was disappointing. On top of that, I saw a cockroach inside the spa, raising real concerns about hygiene and sewer maintenance. These issues should be fixed immediately to meet the standards expected from a 5* hotel.

I love this hotel. The perfect halfway point between Santander and the Costa del Sol. We have stayed twice now. The pool is beautiful and the pool bar serves delicious food. They are great with dogs although they are not allowed by the pool, even on the grass.

The only thing that lets this beautiful place down are the shower heads. They only seem to have showers over baths which I find exceedingly annoyingly, plus the second time we stayed the shower head would not stay in its cradle which was infuriating if you’re trying to wash long hair! The bathrooms really could do with a makeover as the rest of the place is amazing.

The location is perfect for our journey to and from Portugal. The hotel is easily accessed from the N-521. The hotel staff are lovely and we travel with a small dog which is also accommodated. There are two restaurants on site. The "pub/cafe" food is very good and the restaurant has some "amazing" dishes and the fish was spectacular. The dog is allowed in the main restaurant in the solarium. The bed was so comfortable that my husband and I overslept the next day as we obviously needed the rest! We love this hotel and next time need to arrive a little earlier to try the spa treatments!

Not sure why the dog is not allowed in the pub/cafe. That appears to be at the discretion of the staff on the day.

Most things were good. We have stayed twice before so knew what to expect

The restaurant does not open till 8.00 for dinner, and so like most guests we spoke to, we were sort of forced to use the cafe, which on all the times we have stayed was again very poor, and very expensive. The staff have no English which creates a problem, and the standard of cooking extremely poor. On the last two occasions, we’re served with burgers cooked on the outside, but completely raw within. The staff were unable to understand the problem with this. The cafe is the only weak part of the hotel

What a fantastic hotel - one of the best I have stayed in for some time - booked deluxe double with spa access - the room was fantastic - coffee and tea making facilities as well as a mini bar -very comfortable and spotless- room came with 1 hour free spa access which was fabulous - we used the restaurant where the food and local wine were just perfect - breakfast was included in the price and the buffet as well as hot table service was perfect - a credit to the hotel were the staff who were so helpful and friendly - I look forward to my next stay at this and other hotels in the group 👍

The hotel is around 15-20 minutes outside of Cacares, but a short taxi ride for around EUR15 each way. The facilities at the hotel were really good. The hotel restaurant and poolside bar were really lovely. The pool area was spacious and well kept. Staff were amazing and attentive. If you are staying in the height of the summer, they have an underground carpark which was worth the additional EUR15 per night charge. Do not miss visiting Cacares, it's a beautiful historic city!

Didn't find the furniture the required for a 5 star hotel (the building is amazing though). -The desserts of the room service were not got at all, stale and industrial, needs to be looked at because the sandwiches are good.

Although the hotel is really great in all aspects we would say the staff here are what makes this hotel special. All very welcoming and clearly very well trained in all aspects of making their guests feel special. Our room although a standard was large and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and had a lovely meal with good wine and we felt it offered very good value for money. Breakfast also very good with plenty of choice. Will return for sure when we drive South next year.

My only very small comment would be that the spa was hard to find as no signage that I could see within the hotel. I had to go to reception for directions

Everything was fantastic! All staff were friendly, helpful and professional from reception, restaurant, lifeguard, and bar staff. Cleanliness of entire place, brilliant. Lots of towels in room and poolside towel provided at pool. Wi-Fi throughout hotel as well as outside by the pool and grounds. Swimming pool and surrounding grounds very relaxing with bar service! Check out at 12 so could enjoy a morning by the pool after a great breakfast! We had our two dogs with us who had bowls, beds and snacks ready for them in the room. Pet friendly indoor restaurant was great.

Nothing. The only niggle was that it was maybe a bit pricy, but to be honest you do have to pay for quality!
