Make no mistake, this place is a gem. Located a few minutes walk away from town and port, it's quiet, beautifully and privately set with its own pool amid trees in the grounds of a grand mansion. The staff were efficient, friendly, helpful and all that one would hope for. The hotel itself is the wonderfully well converted stables of the mansion. I cannot speak too highly of the wonderful few days my wife and I spent here. Highly recommended.

Beautiful building, inside and out. Our room was big, super-clean and comfortable, and the staff were all charming and efficient. The swimming pool was lovely, and we appreciated having somewhere secure to keep a bike. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but it looked good.

There was nothing we didn't like. Not the hotel's fault but our satnav (which probably needs an update) tried to direct us down one-way streets so it's worth having a map as well.

I loved the fact that this hotel felt like an oasis while only minutes from the center of town/the marina. Starting with the bamboo lined entrance to the energy felt by the people sitting outside enjoying their afternoon coffees. The hotel has a beautiful art collection, and I loved the addition of rugs and unique furniture everywhere from the main space to the hallways. My room was beautiful, with a spacious bathroom (complete with skylight) and a larger-than-most boutique hotel's shower. The staff were welcoming, and spoke wonderful English,. parking was on site and very easy. I enjoyed a delicious dinner and breakfast, and had excellent service. I was sad to only stay one night!

It's a wonderful place, a bit like something from a fairy tale. :) It's in an amazing location with an incredible entrance alley. There's free, spacious parking. The staff was one of the most friendly I had a chance to meet during my trips. The venue is great for guests, with an open all-day bar. The rooms are equipped with everything you need. We had an amazing time in Lekeitio and around, also because we stay at Zubieta :)

The only thing that was sometimes hard to handle was the lack of an air conditioning system. When we were there, it was very hot, and it was hard to fully relax and rest in the stuffy room. This was the only one tiny minus.

It has a lovely ambience and is well furnished and cleaned. It is lovely sitting on the terrace with an early evening drink and the food was fantastic. The pool is in a great setting and lovely to cool off in. The staff were very helpful and efficient and all areas were kept very clean.

It didn’t have air con, but I didn’t really expect it in this type of property. I would have liked to be able to make a cup of tea in my room.

Beautiful historic building and garden, peaceful location. Rooms are comfortable, bathroom was modern. Useful to have a bar open all day inside the hotel. Friendly staff. Storage room can be used to store bicycles safely.

Breakfast for 15 eur was quite expensive (but you can opt for a quick snack and coffee at the bar instead), hotel rooms are quite pricey, in particular the premium ones. To save some money, better to book well in advance to get standard ones. Location further out from center (10 mins walk from the church and harbour, 10-20mins to the beaches).

It had a lovely mix of tradition with luxury and attention to detail. The suite we had with our dog was spacious and gorgeous looking over the terrace. We had supper on the terrace as was with our dog which worked well. The food was excellent and very well priced. A very enjoyable stay and one I would recommend to others. Plenty of space in the private car park with no height restrictions for our VWCamper.

Quite a tight entrance to the property through a arch. It was the original arch so nothing that can be helped.

Lovely hotel in an old stables with lots of character and nice grounds. Staff were very friendly and made reservations for us at local restaurants for dinner. We didn’t book breakfast, but we had coffee and pastries from the bar a couple of mornings.

If you are reading reviews and have not yet decided whether to book this hotel or not, then stop thinking and book. This is a fantastic place. A cozy hotel with incredible interior, recreation areas and territory. The magic begins already from the entrance to the territory through the historical stone gates of the Zubieta Palace and bamboo alleys. Luxurious views, air, birds singing. The unique atmosphere of an old estate.

The hotel is a real gem in lovely old buildings exquisitely renovated and so tastefully furnished. It has really welcoming public areas and the staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was very extensive and we enjoyed being able to eat a light evening meal in the bar there. Our room was lovely and spacious and the hotel is in a quiet area with plenty of secure parking. It is only a 10 minute walk to the heart of Lekeitio with its lovely old streets and charming port area. We would love to come back and spend more time in this hotel and this area.

Nothing really, but we did get an enormous hornet in our room which was a bit scary! We also didn't realise until we left the hotel that you can't turn left out of the hotel entrance and have to drive all the way round the one way streets of the town to get back to where you started!
