Fabulous location beside the Urdaibai lake and marshes with excellent facilities and helpful staff. A considerably more up-market hotel than we were expecting. Huge variety of birds. Breakfasts were very good in the upstairs lounge/ dining room, which is reserved for guests. It has huge views, excellent telescopes/ binoculars and comfy sofas.

Beds were a bit hard for aged backs.

What an amazing place! So quiet and comfortable. Wonderful view to the lake and sunset and possibility to see the birds and be at the dragonflies garden. Breakfast was one of the best Ive ever had with a lot of summer fruits. Also free access to the museum. Good location to visit the region which is very rich of nature Staff are amazingly nice! My stay was just perfect! Didn't want to go away!

Everything perfect!

Large windows overlooking the lagoon and beyond with powerful telescopes if you forgot your binoculars to see the birds. Observation tower offered a greater view of the area. Walk to Guernica was lovely; got the bus back, stop only a few minutes down the road. Breakfast was buffet style and delicious.

Suggestion of where to go for dinner, we did find places; if you dont have a car, it's not easy to reach. Could hear people in the room next to us.

Wonderful location looking over the wetlands. Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast. The Bird Centre is a project worth supporting. The nearby recommended restaurant was very good

The walls are a bit thin. You could hear other people leaving early in the morning.

The location is absolutely stunning. Being able to watch the wildlife at all hours of the day is very special. The rooms are very clean and well-kept. Good breakfast options. The neighboring towns are breathtaking as are the beaches. And the Castillo de Arteaga is at a comfortable walking distance. First-class dining experience.

I would suggest adding a small nightstand and lamp to the rooms. This would make the rooms feel more cozy at night.

Absolutely love this place. There is a large room with a wall of glass windows overlooking the water where the birds gather. Lots of trails and beaches nearby. The bus stop is 5 minute walk away.

The twin bed I had was not comfy but everything else was great.

We’ve never stayed before in any similar property and we loved the experience. They have only couple of rooms inside of the Bird center and museum. The view from the dining room was super relaxing and quiet. You also get a free museum ticket.

If you love the nature, there is nothing not to like.

We loved staying right within this utterly magnificent nature sanctuary. There was so much to do, so much to see. The observation areas for residents are exceptional. It was especially gratifying to see flocks of birds appearing at dusk to roost. Bird lovers, put this place on your bucket list and spend at least a night. The rooms are immaculate and very comfortable. Everything at this facility is of the highest standard.

Can't think of anything to criticize.

Breakfast was good, the rooms have AC. But the best is the big window for observation of the birds

An amazing location to stay at for any birders. Access to the viewing tower as well as the viewing lounge directly from your room. Very good breakfast too and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
