This is a wonderful, tastefully designed house with great common rooms, restaurant, a library and a huge terrace right at the beach. The location next to the ruins of EMPURIES is exceptional and offers great walls to the nearby town of St.Marti d’Empuries and L’Escala. The beach is perfect for swimming and for families with children. The hotel also has an outdoors café, that offers food based on old Roman recipes and drinks.

The rooms are a bit on the small side, but quite well designed. The restaurant is excellent, but the menu is a bit too small if you stay longer. It becomes a bit repetitive. There are also very, very few vegetarian options. It would be also good if snacks e.g. sandwiches were available when the restaurant is closed (between 5 and 8 pm) as there is no other option to eat nearby.

Lovely hotel right at the beach, & a short walk into the town (approx 20 mins) There was a great choice on offer at breakfast & the lunch/dinner menu was excellent. The bar/restaurant terrace was a great place to eat or relax with a drink. Staff were very helpful. The room was very comfortable, spacious & quiet

The room was a superior double with sea view which was listed as having a terrace. I had hoped this was large enough to use for sunbathing but it was only wide enough to sit at the table & chairs provided. One other small niggle was the sliding door that doubled as the toilet & shower door, which was very rusty on the inside, not what I expected compared to the quality of the room otherwise.

The hotel was absolutely gorgeous! Location great for us and the proximity to the sea was undeniable. The spa was lovely and our massages were excellent. Our Spa room was spacious and quiet and serene. We would definitely go back. Staff was patient and courteous. The breakfast was beyond fantastic, a 10+++.

Unfortunately, our dinner at the restaurant was not a good experience. The salad was fantastic but the entree’s were just so so. The biggest disappointment was the wait staff. It felt like to us they were just there to deliver food. No pleasantries or engagement of any kind. They just delivered food and never checked back. You had to ask them back for everything you needed. It was awkward and disappointing.

We loved the hotel location, the gardens, the terrace bar and beach food cafe and being able to order snacks without pre booking and with ease. The staff were friendly and responsive when I requested the floor should be cleaned. The bed was very comfortable.

The room was a little tired and needed a bit of love and attention. Scuff marks on walls, cracked tiles, silicone in bathroom needed renewing. Unfortunately Our garden facing balcony was above a noisy generator . On arrival the floor had not been properly cleaned and had hair and crumbs on it.

The location is exceptional, the reception staff and bar staff excellent but the restaurant staff on the verge of rude.

If you charge over £400 per night for a 4* hotel we didn’t expect to have to pay another €25 each for breakfast nor should we be expected to pay €25 each to have a swim in the spa in my opinion and €8 per night to park a car.

This was our third stay at this lovely hotel. I always book a sea-view room with balcony, and we enjoyed sitting there, watching the sea and the pedestrians and cyclists passing by. Having stayed at this hotel before, we knew what to expect, and absolutely loved our restaurant meals and the copious and delicious breakfast. We enjoy the location and the friendly staff very much and would return again for a 4th stay.

We were disappointed not to be seated in the restaurant on our second night, but rather in the breakfast room, which lacks the feeling of dining in a restaurant. I don't know whether the other patrons, arriving at the same time as we, had a reservation (which we had made in the afternoon) but they were led like us, without explanation, away from the restaurant, despite its empty tables, to the breakfast room. To create a better ambience, I asked our lovely server if he would dim the lights (which he did). He was a wonderful server in every respect. Not being able to eat dinner in the more atmospheric restaurant was the only disappointment of our stay.

Breakfast was great, Very nice staff. Swimming at the nearby beach at dawn and walking to nearby villages, San Martín and L´Escala.

It is a hotel near the beach, and there was no shower or a simple faucet in the way from the beach to the room to take out the sand. (And this summer public showers at the beaches don´t work because of the drought. Also there was a built in lighting next to the bathtub, which, while it looked very nice, might make you worry about the proximity of water and electrical current, although it certainly must have met all safety standards.

A lovely hotel, with interesting architecture, wonderful staff, a decent gym and actually a very good restaurant (which the ratings didn’t reflect tbh). I also liked the location a lot. It’s not downtown, but the surroundings are therefore much more serene and the short walk to the centre was perfectly fine along the shore.

- Hotel parking was poorly indicated, I turned right one entrance too early and found myself in a tricky spot with a fully loaded motorcycle - My first room (garden view) smelled like it might’ve had a slight humidity issue recently. My second room (sea view) was more pleasant.

The feel and ambiance of the hotel is immediately relaxing as it is by the sea and the beach bar furnishing is successful, The bedrooms are very comfortable and the beds too.

The only snag were the restaurant and bar staff who were noisy, not very well managed and occasionally seem to be avoiding work. Such a contrast to the rest of the very hard working staff. With the restaurant manager please control and train your staff.

The hotel is gorgeous and in an ideal location. The rooms and the surrounding area are lovely and the breakfasts were just fantastic. Really enjoyed the property.

One small thing was the presence of a Nazi Swastika on a retaining wall on the main road leading to the hotel. We were actually quite shocked to see this and asked that it be removed. The people at the front desk were sympathetic but at the end of the day told us that they couldn't do anything about it so we had to see this for the entire time that we were at the hotel. It was very upsetting and something that should have been addressed immediately.
